Dr. Pearson was my doctor and delivered my first child last 2014. He was an amazing doctor and gave me and husband a lot of calm during the day i gave birth. First time we met him he was very nice and answered all our questions. As I've mentioned in previous reviews for my eye doctor, chiropractor & dentist, I'm terrified of the doctor. I'm just like my dog in that way, something about the waiting room really spikes my anxiety levels. Sitting in Dr. Pearson's waiting room was no different. I was there what I like to affectionately refer to as my annual "Tire Rotation", or standard lady parts exam, and the other women in the waiting room were pregnant. Like, super pregnant. Pregnant with symptoms they were telling each other about. The kinds of symptoms that made me feel more certain to leave the doctors office with a prescription for birth control pills. I didn't bolt out of the waiting room in horror after overhearing a litany of pregnant lady complaints, but by the time I was called back to see the doctor, I was ready to run. I expected to be wrapped in a flimsy paper gown and left in a cold room, only to be quickly prodded, poked and released back into the wilds of Burbank, but instead I was seated in the doctor's office with all my clothes still on. He introduced himself to me and asked me questions and took time to get to know me as a human being! A doctor! Can you believe that?? I was raised on Kaiser HMO, so I'm not used to doctors who are friendly, helpful and not scary. He listened to my concerns about birth control pills, told me an IUD might be a bad idea, and when the time came for the actual exam, he was fast and thorough. Like some of these other lovely Yelpettes, I had no idea that a male doctor could make me feel so comfortable! I'm still terrified of ever becoming pregnant, but at least Dr. Pearson hooked me up with two months of sample pills and a year's prescription! And if the unexpected does happen, at least I know a great doctor! read more

I am sure Dr. Pearson is great; however, I wouldn't know. I sat in his office for 45 minutes passed my appointment time only to FINALLY be seen a full hour and a half late and was told that because another doctor that HE KNOWS did my Laparoscopic surgery for Endometriosis that he could not treat me. I left in agony, frustrated after paying my co-pay. I was told that I would not be billed for the visit; however, my insurance was. Flash forward 6 months after finding an incredible OBGYn with Cedars who did a great surgery, I start getting bills claiming that they are going to send me to collections from Dr. Pearson's office. I am not a patient of Dr. Pearson's, but I called his office looking to get a second opinion for a suspected miscarriage. His staff was kind and patient with me and after hearing my entire story, Bee (I hope I am spelling her name correctly) referred me to an ultrasound specialist. She provided the number and the exact description of what I should ask for. Combined with what I read about Dr. Pearson and his staff on Yelp so far and a recommendation by a friend, I would say that if you are looking for an OBGYN, try him first. I've had a few really traumatic GYN experiences over the years, so I am terrified of going. I needed a wellness check up a year after my son was born, and Dr. P was recommended by two friends with 3 babies between them delivered by him. Before the exam, I explained to him some of the scary past exams (I'll save some gory details, but one was a biopsy without pain meds). When it was exam time, he brought in a nurse, and said very matter-of-factly and kindly that I was nervous, instructed her to hold my hand through the whole exam, and she even pet my hair, and told me to squeeze her hand if I got scared. Even better: the exam took less than a minute, I kid you not. Easy peasy. I've been back once since, and he's just great. He does put urgent matters first, as any OB should, so you may have a longer wait, or it may feel like a really brief visit, but if he has the free time, he's always up for a jovial chat about life, love, springtime...I feel safe at this place. read more

There are not enough words to express how much I love Dr Pearson!! I saw Dr Pearson for the first 30 weeks of my pregnancy until my husband and I had to move across country due to work... I love Dr P. I've been going to him for the past 10 years, even when I have had insurance that he didn't take- I would pay out of pocket. He makes me feel very safe, and he is gentle and kind as are the other staff, like William, and the nurses there. I sent a good friend of mine to him who was very freaked out about seeing a male gynecologist. She was told she would never be able to have kids due to endometriosis, I think it was. He helped her and she has two kids now that she credits Dr Pearson for- without him, she might not have tried, and if she has tried, she might not have succeeded. I haven't had any such health scare, but I really appreciate Dr P. Everybody gives him 5 stars for a reason. All other doctors should strive to be like him! read more

Dr. Pearson is a very matter-of-fact, no sugarcoating or frills type of doc. I had what I considered a fairly smooth pregnancy under his care until the very end when I suddenly developed Acute Onset Preeclampsia and required an emergency C-section. He showed up within 10-15 min after I was admitted to ER during lunch hours and successfully delivered my baby boy. He then made visits daily even on New Year's Day to check on my status. It is easy to see why he has no shortage of patients, and now I have a better understanding of the long wait as he could be performing emergency C-sections similar like mine on a short notice. He also has a great front office staff. William is always warm and courteous with the appointment scheduling and accommodating with the filing of my disability papers. His nurse Anita is very attentive and friendly. Overall, I highly recommend his service and without a doubt will use his service again for my next pregnancy. A little TMI but it is worthy to mention that the circumcision Dr. Pearson had performed on my son had received "compliments" from numerous pediatricians and there were never any issues during or after the healing process. read more

Doctor Pearson and his staff are absolutely amazing. I am one of his special patients because Dr. Pearson delivered me and now he delivered my precious baby boy on April 20, 2018. I had a c-section at Saint Joseph and I was absolutely and totally terrified. However, his staff and the hospital always go above and beyond to make you feel as comfortable as possible. Again, also glad I listened to the majority of reviews on here. They were right. I went to Dr. Pearson from complaints of abdominal pain. Since I was a new patient and have no history of pregnancies, he took "precautionary" steps in my first visit to ease into my pain's diagnosis. This included a visual exam of my area, various culture tests, and a blood test. Results were all normal. My next visit he performed an ultrasound and found a few small fibroids. I am completely satisfied with his patience in answering my 100+ questions (on both visits), and the overall friendliness of the staff! Highly, highly recommend. read more

Offered and scheduled an appointment, to only have been told a few days later the doctor was retiring or too old to take in new patients and all his patients were going to be now be seen by the other doctor Sofia. They should advise their referral sources so they will not be wasting patients time who need to find a doctor that is available to offer care. read more

Dr. Pearson is the best! I needed to go in for a colposcopy. I was super scared because the last time I had one (with a different doctor) it was kind of traumatic. This experience was exactly the opposite. As soon as I arrived I was whisked in to a room (no waiting!) to get prepped. Dr. Pearson came right in the moment I was ready. He was incredibly kind and gracious, and made me feel right at ease. You can tell he is a genuinely caring person, and a very intelligent, skilled, and experienced doctor. During the colposcopy he took a few small biopsies, but made the procedure painless, and not at all unpleasant (not the easiest task considering the circumstance). When the results came back, he was patient and kind in telling me the results of the biopsies were not great. He recommended an awesome oncologist that he works with at St. Joseph's on a regular basis. I've since seen that doctor, and he was also amazing. Let me say a quick word about Dr. Pearson's nurse Anita. She is an angel. Many healthcare professionals adopt the appearance of a caring demeanor, but it is apparent that Dr. Pearson and his nurse Anita genuinely care. If you are looking for an OB/GYN who will listen, who has experience, and who genuinely cares, look no further than Dr. Pearson! read more

I was thinking to take my fiancé to this Dr. Pearson because we believe to be pregnant. When I called to ask about taking my fiancé for a check up/ to also see if we were really pregnant. I was brushed off and was told that, this wasn't a clinic and this office probably was for me. Never did they ask me if had insurance. I have Motion Picture Insurance which the best coverage one can have. I made him aware that I had Motion Picture Insurance and his tone changed completely as if he had struck gold. I'm just disgusted with this office. I'm embarrassed for them. I told the Dr./ the person who answer that I was disgusted by the way the treated/ answered the phone with potential patients. And wished him a good day. I wouldn't recommend even calling this office to anyone. read more

The best obstetrician in Burbank. So kind and caring, and will answer all of your questions- even if you ask to many, (like me!) he will still give you great answers to all of them. Dr. Pearson delivered both my boys and he was the best doctor I've ever had. My mother, who has 8 of her own, was looking at the list of OBGYN with me and she stated if that is the same Dr. Pearson that delivered my sister 30 years ago that should be my choice. I moved to California when I was 35 weeks into my pregnancy. Dr. Pearson was the 1st OB/GYN I came across in my desperate search to secure a physician. From my first visit, I knew my search was over. He was kind, the best bedside manner and such a calm demeanor. I knew I wanted him to deliver my baby after the 1st few visits. During my delivery phase, he was equally reassuring, patient and warm. I had a healthy baby boy within 6 hours after my water broke. By far, he is one of the best physicians I have had the pleasure of interacting with. My son is now 14 years old. Whenever we talk about visiting California ( we relocated to Atlanta) , I keep telling him. Dr. Pearson is informed, attentive, and friendly. His staff are all incredibly helpful and kind. There is an internal ultrasound on-site, so you don't have to wait for follow-up appointments to check stuff out. Most remarkably, Dr. Pearson treats you like a human being, even when you're in stirrups! Throughout every procedure, he kept me informed and apprised of what he was doing and what was possible next. I've only been his patient for 6 months or so, but he and his staff treat me like an old friend. They have been helpful when I had a billing issue with my health insurance too (no fault of theirs, just my health insurance being annoying, as per usual). read more

This was my first child and I was an older mom at almost 40 and Dr. Pearson was fabulous! He understood me being a regular motorcycle rider and my situation of being allergic to various pain meds, so we knew this baby had to be born naturally and had to alleviate the possibility of a cesarean birth. I've been a patient of Dr. Pearson's for a year now. We've dealt with a lot of issues together and he's always treated me with great care and patience. I've called the emergency line a couple times at odd hours and I always get a prompt call back and an invitation to come in for the next available appointment. His calm demeanor - probably a result of his vast experience catching babies - was a great comfort to me. I don't do well with doom-and-gloom types. Our 'relationship' recently culminated in the birth of my baby girl, who Dr. Pearson (assisted by Dr. Sofya) delivered via emergency (or urgent?) c-section following some 20 hours of labor. How he managed to visit me so many times that day (from 8 pm Monday to delivery at 5:15 pm Tuesday) on top of all his office appointments remains a mystery. He must not sleep much. He also checked on me every day of my hospital stay and was happy to chat about non-medical issues such as whether or not I would reclaim my figure in a speedy fashion :) William mans the desk and I dare you not to become fond of him. Anita, his nurse, is ALWAYS cheerful and excited, although I imagine at some point when you've heard your millionth fetal heartbeat it might be difficult to look so thrilled. And now, some pro tips: --His office has ample street parking and is right next to Philly's Best in Burbank. No dealing with garage parking at the medical buildings across from St. Joe's. And you can get a cheesesteak when you visit. If you have gestational diabetes, there's a Thai place next to Philly's Best where you can get a cheap lunch special... just ask them for all salad, no rice, and get something meaty. Food is important to me, so I thought I'd throw this in. --If you don't want to wait too long, try to get an appointment right when they open in the morning or right when they open after lunch. Avoid Mondays and Fridays. Mondays are for very pregnant women on their last visits, and Fridays are popular with those who want a 3-day weekend from work. If you fall into either of these categories, you will occasionally wait awhile to be taken, because Dr. Pearson wants to fit in all of his emergencies. Be grateful, because you will probably be one of those emergencies at some point. If you have any questions message me! read more

Excellent! Amazing! This man has delivered some 20,000 babies, some on dirt floors in Ireland...he can and will, do everything possible to make your pregnancy and birthing experience all that you want from it, he's practical, no nonsense and caring and kind all at once. I found out I was pregnant when I was already 3 months along and had been on birth-control pills the entire time (yes, it does happen, even when you take them perfectly... check the percentages) so I was all kinds of concerned. Could the pill cause birth defects or cause the fetus to spontaneously abort? I hadn't known I was pregnant so I had been out for drinks more than once, as a matter of fact I had been out for bottomless bloody mary's the day I found out. Would there me complications? I had had an eating disorder when I was younger and was terrified of gaining weight. I hadn't been planning on a child. I was nervous, excited, anxious, scared...He dealt with all of my concerns and issues, and never made me feel stupid or silly, he was supportive and patient, and super intuitive. He was great at working with me personally, not just as "another pregnant chic" he made it all about me and the baby, (oh yeah and the daddy) and made things work for us. Little things; He had the nurse take my weight while I was facing away from the scale and had my fiance remove all scales from our home as well as telling me he'd be in charge of my weight, that we both agreed the baby's health and a healthy pregnancy were what we were after, so that the eating disorder was never an issue. He was present throughout my long, crazy labor. 18 hours worth of hard labor..hahaha. He followed my very detailed, (he knows I'm a bit obsessive and failing would have been devastating) birthing plan to a T, until it was obvious that it wasn't going to work and we needed a c-section. I gave birth on Dec 30th and he was there the next 4 days, EVERY day to check on me until I was released. He showed up in running attire, in the midst of a run on New Year's eve or maybe that was New Year's day, they kind of run together, just to check in and say Hi and Happy New Year's. The ONLY "fault" I could even come up with is that the day before I was released from the hospital he was talking to me about the c-section, explaining why we had to and that I had tried as hard to have a natural birth as anyone he knew of, really being supportive, said as he left he said "since we know c-section is it for you, don't forget to tell me after the next one, we can do a tummy tuck while I'm sewing you up." Ahhh DAMN I'm a "one and done".....wishw e would have figured that out BEFORE ;/ So looks like I need to get into my gym..oh well, nothing to really complain about. He also did my son's circumscision, old school style, it was neat and tidy and healed up quickly with no issues what so ever. The nurses and staff at St. Joe's respect him so they go out of their way to make sure you are taken care of and happy. Also some gory details, he's known at the hospital for doing the best stitches, plastic surgeon worthy, the nurses all said how lucky I was and sure enough there's barely a visible line, looks like a little crease from my jeans at worst. :)' They also pointed out that he "cleans you up" while he's in there, so the days of pads and cramping etc. are minimal, where as a lot of docs just stitch you up quick and let you deal with the nasty post pregnancy stuff. Ladies, baby plans or not this is the doctor you should see. read more

Amazing, amazing, amazing. I have had 3 different OBs for 3 different pregnancies, and Dr. Pearson is hands-down the greatest doctor ever. He's personable, friendly, funny, informative, caring, chatty....the list goes on. He's the kind of OB who will let you know all you need to know about your pregnancy, but doesn't pressure you about delivery options/breastfeeding issues or make you feel worried when something a little "odd" comes up. Also, I have heard that most doctors will only show up moments before you deliver, but when I walked into the hospital with my contractions 3 minutes apart, he stayed by my side for the rest of my entire delivery (about 4 hours)....AMAZING! Then, to top it all off, there were complications, and when things were the most tense (even the hospital nurse seemed worried), he stayed calm, looked at me, and said "here are your 2 options. Which would you prefer? Here's what I would do if I were you, but I'll support you in either choice." I ended up having an emergency c-section involving lots of problems & a NICU-team assisting, but he was SO kind and calm the entire time. AMAZING. Also, William in the office is great, as are the other staff members. Anita is a sweetie, although she never did pronounce my name right during the entire 9 months, even after I corrected her every time. And the couple times I had to see Dr. Sofya because Pearson was unexpectedly called away, she was fine. I didn't like her half as much as Dr. Pearson, and her bedside manner was very matter-of-fact and stuffy, but she wasn't rude or anything. The only minor complaint about their office is that I often waited quite a bit longer than my appointment time, especially if I needed an ultrasound (Pearson & Sofya share one machine), but I'd rather wait a little longer than feel rushed. read more

Dr. Pearson is a fantastic OB! He delivered my first child recently and was extremely caring, supportive, encouraging during labor and very masterful during delivery. He stopped by 6-7 times to check on my progress during labor...and not just there for the catch like other OBs! Anita in Dr. Pearson's office is a fantastic nurse and was very helpful during all my checkups. Keep in mind that routine checkups during pregnancy with Dr. Pearson are very brief - 10 minutes or so in the examination room with just a few minutes with Dr. Pearson. He is a very busy man but still answers any questions you may have. Therefore, if you are looking for someone who is chatty during pregnancy this is not the place for you. Regardless, I would highly recommend Dr. Pearson as an OB since he is extremely knowledgeable / experienced and he is there for you when it matters most during labor. read more

I saw Dr. Pearson for the first half of my pregnancy before I switched over to the midwives at the birth center where I had my baby. My insurance would not cover seeing him and the midwives, so that's why I left. Nothing personal. He was caring, informative, and always took the time to chat with me before heading off to the next patient. He was respectful of my wishes and always took the time to answer my questions. I never had to wait long in the waiting room, and all the staff is friendly and accommodating. The only problem I have with his office is the BILLING DEPT. I switched insurance companies in the middle of my pregnancy, and it seemed that they had a little trouble figuring out which company to bill for which services (they had to bill the Nov-Dec visits to one insurance and then the Jan-Feb visits to my new insurance). At one point, long after I had left this practice to see the midwives instead, I received a bill in the mail for the wrong amount. They had forgotten to bill my second insurnace company, so it was like $400. I called and they said they were still trying to process the second insurance company (Blue Shield) so just to disregard that bill. I said ok and thought nothing of it. A couple months later I received a very STRONGLY worded letter saying that I had better pay or they would send me to a collection department. I was confused as I had never received the CORRECT bill with the proper amount. Needless to say, I sent in the payment (it had finally gone through my insurance) and called them to let them know that it was on the way and they were polite as can be on the phone. A little bit of an odd situation. I will be returning to Dr. Pearson despite these problems as he is nice, the staff is nice (in person and on the phone) and the office is extremely close to where I live. But I'm still bothered by that nasty letter I received when they were the ones (or maybe my insurance company) that had the problems with the billing. read more

Dr Pearson delivered our first baby and we are so grateful to him for making the whole pregnancy phase worry free. We had a lot of questions and concerns and every time we left his office we felt really satisfied and assured, which made a whole lot of difference. His attitude really made the actual delivery itself go smoothly - and we now have our little bundle of joy safe and healthy. His insistence on doing some procedures as early as possible almost definitely saved both mother and baby from complications - which we realized only after the delivery was over. His office staff is also very helpful, especially Nurse Anida and William at the front desk. My wife has always entered his office full of worries, and always left smiling. I guess the main thing that really impressed us was that no matter what the issue was, he would reveal it to us in such a good/natural way that you hardly worried about it after you heard it. This is a long-overdue review to recommend Dr Pearson, who I heard of via the ladies of Yelp. In 2010 I got a ParaGard IUD inserted at another clinic. The IUD caused bleeding, cramping, and misery which did not stop until my unimpressed uterus succeeded in partially expelling it nearly three months later. I was thousands of miles from home when I realized that my IUD had been dislodged and was now, potentially, a greater danger than ever. Being far from my regular OB/GYN I was tempted to pull it out myself and hope for the best. Instead, I heeded the dire warnings I'd read online and sought professional assistance. Dr Pearson's office graciously made time in their schedule, on short notice, to see a new patient from out-of-town. On the day of, I waited an hour in a waiting room filled with moms and babies before being called to the exam room. Just after the assistant who took my history left the exam room, I overheard another staff member call the Dr to attend a birth in a hospital. Amazingly, he took a few minutes to help me out before leaving for the next big event. After an ultrasound determined that the IUD was in a position where it could be easily removed, he took it out in seconds and my ordeal was over. The physical relief I felt after my body partially rejected the IUD was matched only by the mental relief I felt after Dr Pearson removed it from my cervical canal. Thank you Dr. Pearson and staff for providing expert, kind, and reassuring, care to this traveler in need! In addition to being technically proficient, Dr Pearson has a wonderful presence. If I lived near Glendale, CA I would hope to be his patient. [Note: Lots of ladies LOVE their IUD's. This is not intended to be an anti-IUD story. I'm so glad I listened to all the Yelper's reviews. Dr. Pearson is a Gem. I was a little nervous seeing a male instead of a female Doctor for my "Woman's needs" but I am not sorry. He is so gentle, kind, and really listens to all of your concerns and answers all of your questions. You do not feel rushed or pressured in any way. He actually speaks with you in his office before the exam room.The exam is quick and painless..yes painless! Nothing to be nervous about here. You leave feeling listened to and heard. I did have to wait 3 weeks to be seen but It was worth it, after all good things come to those who wait. read more

The most amazing, caring OB I have ever had! I really can't praise Dr. Pearson and his staff enough. I started seeing Dr. Pearson when I found out I was pregnant and I knew right away that I was in good hands. He is warm and caring and takes the time to answer all your questions and concerns. There is no one else I would rather go to! He is by far the nicest doctor/gyno/man I've ever encountered. The wait is not very long at all. When you go to see the doctor he asks you all sorts of questions and actually takes an interest in seeing what's going on with you. When diagnosing you, or saying what you might have or what might be going on with you, he is very informative and knows what he is saying to you might be stressful and yet you leave the office very assured that you will be fine. Oh Dr Pearson and your staff, you make this transplant from Europe so very happy! Sometimes it just feels good to be close to home, and when you're newly pregnant for the first time, longing for the old country can strike hard. I was referred to Dr P by the WGA clinic in response to my request for a kind, sensitive in network provider. I found him and then some. The staff at his office are Irish, German and English as well as American. The worst happened to me - a first trimester miscarriage. I was operated on by Dr P at St Josephs which is a very nice hospital and feels much more intimate than Cedars. Dr P was fantastic before and after the surgery, and I assume during as well, as he seems to have helped my periods hurt much less while he was removing the pregnancy... Follow up care was stellar from nurse Anita who actually keeps calling and calling until she is sure you have heard her voicemails with results. And dear William at the front desk is simply the nicest and kindest man on the planet, who works long and hard to figure out billing wrinkles and referral issues. Long live this practice! I will return with happiness as soon as I get my next BFP. read more
