I was initially hesitant to write this review, but after receiving follow-up emails from Thrive asking for feedback, I felt it was important to share my experience. I've been dealing with hormonal imbalance for the past four months. I'm currently with Kaiser and have seen nine different doctors, most of whom suggested anti-anxiety or antidepressant medication. However, I knew something deeper was going on. What I initially thought were panic attacks at night turned out to be hot flashes. I often felt dismissed and unheard, which was incredibly frustrating. My wife helped me research other options, and that's when we found Thrive. After reading so many positive reviews, I felt hopeful that I had finally found a place where I would be seen and heard. My first visit with the doctor was positive. She listened to my concerns and ordered bloodwork. However, after completing my labs, I had difficulty getting a follow-up appointment. My calls were not returned, and I eventually had to use the emergency text number just to get a response. I was told I had a phone appointment scheduled at 11 AM, but I never received a call. When I followed up, they offered me an in-person appointment later that day, which I accepted. During that visit, the doctor reviewed my labs and told me a pharmacist would contact me the next day to start testosterone treatment. Unfortunately, I never received that call. I want to be clear that I'm not trying to be difficult, but dealing with hormonal issues has significantly impacted my quality of life. I've been experiencing sleepless nights, restlessness, irritability, bladder issues, and an overall sense that I'm not functioning at my best. Given that this is an out-of-pocket service, the lack of communication has been extremely frustrating. I've since called and emailed multiple times without any response. Additionally, when you call their office, it goes straight to a generic voicemail that doesn't clearly identify the business, and messages are not returned. It feels like you have to constantly follow up just to get basic communication and even then, responses are inconsistent. I also want to add that I typically don't write reviews like this. However, if you are struggling the way I have been, I wouldn't want another woman to go through what I've experienced. I truly believe women should support one another and take each other's concerns seriously, and unfortunately, that has not been my experience here. read more

I was really excited about working with Jeniffer based on how thorough her intake was however I am sad to report that the follow ups and her custom plan have been the complete opposite and did not meet my expectations. What she created for me is disheartening... feels generic and copy and paste, has recommendations for issues I do not have, is a very broad list of things I have already tried lifestyle wise and then a bunch of suggested supplements to try without clear guidance on dosages or which ones to start first. It is a long list of things to try and suggestion for types of specialists ( no names or referrals just types like see gyno or derm etc). I came and paid $500 for a specialist to guide me based on the data of all the tests she ordered. The custom plan should have reflected clear suggestions based on my findings not a long list of suggestions that appear if I just googgle my symptoms and condition... I paid for specificity and profesionalism. I am really really dissapointed. as other have shared- It has also been very hard to get a hold of her and her team throughout this entire process and when I ask questions I do not get clear answers or I have to keep reaching out over and over to get an answer. I do not think it was worth the money and I feel deeply disheartened by this experience. I have also heard this from several other people that have gone to see them. sadly it seems the first visit seems really positive, thorough, present and caring and then that does not carry forward in the process... so so sad and deeply hurtful. read more

I would not recommend this place. First, Jen Huddleston is Physician's Assistant. I went to see her for HRT evaluation. She charges a lot of money (250$ for the first appt, 200$ for each subsequent), does a blood test, and gives you a prescription. She did discuss some symptoms with me and adjusted my prescription when I had severe side effects. But there's not a very thorough follow up of menopausal symptoms (such as a questionnaire). That's a lot of money to pay for a 15 min conversation. The phone staff pushes for pricey in person appts. I will not be returning. read more

I've been seeing Dr. Jennifer for almost 5 years and every time I've gone I've had a pleasant experience. It's really important for me to have a physician that really listens and addresses your concerns and she's done so every single time. I went to see Jennifer for my yearly wellness visit, and I couldn't be more pleased with my experience. Patty, the appointment specialist, is always so welcoming, kind, and friendly. Jennifer is gentle, incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and truly makes you feel comfortable. I have to say, it honestly feels more like I'm going to see a friend than going to a tedious appointment where I have to have my most personal areas examined. yearly pap can be such an intimate experience, but with Jennifer, it never feels uncomfortable or clinical. It genuinely feels like you're seeing someone who cares about you. They do not take insurance, and I completely understand why. Insurance companies can take forever to pay, creating additional expenses and headaches for medical offices. It's also more of a boutique-style women's wellness experience, and honestly, for me, it's worth it. One helpful tip: you can submit a claim to your insurance yourself, and in my experience, they have reimbursed either all or a portion of the cost. But honestly, why wouldn't I invest in myself? I believe I'm worth every penny. If I have to pay to be seen by someone who treats me with respect, understands the female body, and doesn't make me feel like just another number, then I'm happy to do it. I save for my appointments because it's something I prioritize--and, of course, there are potential tax benefits depending on your situation. They do not return calls I got a rude email reply asking me what insurance do I have . Without asking me what I'm interested in or what services they offer . When I called for the second day in a row they FINALLY ANSWER BUT PUT ME ON HOLD then get back on the line to give me minimum answers 250 for one appointment or 450 for a functional medicine appointment as if I know what that means . Prices Without explaining anything else or going into any detail . Reminds me of the furniture store asking me if I'll pay cash or credit without letting me look at their floor room . Rude disrespectful and unprofessional and I will go somewhere else Just off the phone with a clinic in oc who explained fully the process of the blood draw and the pellets . I honestly can't say enough good things about Thrive Wellness. They really feel like family at this point. I've never experienced a group of people who care more about their patients. It all starts with Patty, who handles everything before you even get to the office and long after you leave. Everyone working there, from the front desk staff to Dr. Huddleston herself have been so patient and kind in letting me explain my medical concerns and history. I am SO grateful I found Dr.Huddleston. As a hypochondriac i was always so nervous to go to the obgyn. I write this review with some hesitation as it's for the office, not the doctor. Jennifer is fantastic and I would love to have her as my doctor. She is a one stop shop for a woman like me (over 50 and post menopausal). I had my 1st visit over a month ago now and left that visit feeling relieved that I finally found the perfect practitioner. She listened, had some good suggestions and ordered some tests. She also suggested looking at my DNA markers for genetic issues. Then days go by and I have to start contacting the office for follow up questions and updates on my test ordering. They will give you access to a portal that does not get checked for messages and files from Jennifer won't upload. I did see another review complaining about not getting calls back. This is correct. I have left messages and sent emails which are mostly unanswered. I can usually get Patty from the front office on the phone if I try several times throughout the day. Then she says she'll get back to me with an answer from Jennifer and I have to call back several days later to get a response. I have sent emails with these concerns and, of course, there has been no response. I don't know if Jennifer has received any of these concerns but I'd like to think she hasn't. She is an amazing P.A. but her office is so poorly run that it doesn't make up for it. Patty is very friendly and I like her a lot, but as someone who has run a Chiropractic office before, it does not make up for the incompetence of how that office is run. I am now on hormone therapy and feel abandoned as I deal with side effects and dosing questions. It took two emails and a harshly worded voicemail to finally get a very well explained answer about dosage, but no apologies on the late response. Now I'm having side effects so I'm searching for another doctor that can hopefully take over my care ASAP. My hope is that Jennifer sees this and addresses the issues. For her patients sake. Until then, look elsewhere for you HRT or Functional Medicine needs. read more

*CAUTION! This review contains sensitive material and terminology. Read at your own discretion!* In early April 2021, one of the worst things that can happen to a woman unfortunately happened to me. The traumatic, criminal, pure violation that is: rape. I was injured physically to my body and of course emotionally, mentally and of my spirit. With the highly elevated-emotional situation comes the added pressure of reporting or not reporting to police, the need for gathering evidence and concerns about things like STDs. Everything was overwhelming and intrusive on top of being sexually assaulted. Initially, I was reluctant to report to the police but I learned that if I visit a gynecologist; they have to legally report on my behalf which I preferred. I have state-sanctioned health insurance (Medi-Cal) which means that every visit to a 'specialist' - which includes gynecological services - has to be referred by your general practitioner, approved by the state and then they send you to a doctor. You have no say in who you see and the whole process takes weeks. I didn't have time for that! I needed a medical examination plus STD tests, stat, and thanks to Yelp: came across Thrive Wellness Center. I initially spoke to Patricia and bluntly told her I was raped and needed to check if there is any damage plus needed STD tests. Patricia was very compassionate and immediately began working with my schedule and financial needs. She spoke with Dr. Jennifer Huddleston - the head honcho - and called me back saying the examination fee is normally $150 but they were going to deduct $50 due to my situation and financial struggles. They also planned to run the STD lab work through Medi-Cal so that would be free - perfect! We made an appointment for the very next day. Thrive Wellness Center is located on Chevy Chase in Glendale near Glenoaks and the 134 freeway at the Adventist Health medical compound. Free, ample parking is available in the back- AWESOME! I walked into a small but clean, modern and brightly-colored lobby complete with a teal couch, magazines and artwork. Thrive Wellness sends you paperwork prior to your appointment so everything is done in the comfort of your home rather than filling out paperwork upon arrival. LOVE THIS! However, I was immediately dejected because I was never acknowledged/welcomed by the buzz-cut female working reception. No smile, no "We'll be with you shortly", no nod, even! What the heck? I sat there for 40 minutes past my appointed time and still NOTHING! I am not upset that I had to wait - this is a doctor and expected- I am upset that the receptionist never made my presence known. Yet, she stood there with two other gals laughing it up/gossiping on the clock (see my posted photo). I had to APPROACH HER and asked her if everything was 'okay'. She replied that it was fine, but being I filled out the online paperwork; nothing was needed. Um, you could have still said hello. Strike two: this girl was the one who took my vitals before seeing Dr. Huddleston and needed to input my reason for the visit. I stated that I was raped to which she replied, "Sounds good". Ummmm. I know this was her customer service reply and she didn't even think of it - but GIRL! YOU NEED TO THINK BEFORE YOU SPEAK! JESUS! I finally met with Dr. Jennifer Huddleston and this woman is straight-descended from the heavens. The second she walked into the room I felt peace, safety and non-judgement. Dr. Huddleston isn't just a doctor - she is like a therapist, legal professional and friend all rolled into one. Absolutely love her! She patiently listened to my story of the rape, explained the legalities of what would be happening next and let me know she was on my side and believed me. The actual gynecological exam was the best I've ever had (we checked for injuries from the rape, STDs and I also got a pap smear). It was like chatting with your best friend while she medically examines you! Next, I had blood drawn to check for HIV/AIDS (just in case). Dr. Huddleston works quickly as the police were at my house first thing the next morning to take my official report. The lab tests came back within two days and I was personally notified through email by Dr. Huddleston. The only issue was that the lab was instantly charging me through email and threatening paper bills! I had to go back-and-forth with emails and phone calls to Patricia to get this worked out. I didn't need this added stress. I understand if this delay in the insurance may occur when we forgo the Medi-Cal referral system but they never reassured me that this is normal and so I was filled with anxiety. Dr. Huddleston is a goddess and Thrive Wellness is a holistic, non-clinical, amazing approach to women's care. Dr. Huddleston alone deserves 5-stars buts her staff needs some customer service classes. Regardless, I will definitely be returning to her (Medi-Cal be damned!) and suggest her for all women and their gynecological needs. read more

The reviews sounded great - but when I called to make an appointment, I was informed that as her patient you need to see this doctor twice a year minimum. I'm 51 years old - why would I need to see an OB/GYN every six months? Seems like a money grab to me.
