After a week from dropping and cracking my iPhone 5, the screen protector began to peel off and I decided it was time to get the screen replaced. I purchased a screen off eBay and tried to replace it myself, but it turned out to be a faulty screen. In desperate need of fixing my phone that Saturday, I began walking around the mall to shop for prices. I came to the conclusion that I wouldn't be able to get my screen replaced for less than $100, until I found iFix on Google. Online IFix said that I would be able to get the screen replaced for $80, so I made my way over to get the screen replaced. After 30-45 minutes they handed me my phone with the new screen and there was a little problem with the color, so I had them fix it again. Once all was fixed I left the store and was satisfied with their work... until 2 hours later when the screen completely stopped working. I checked their website that was given to me on their business card that day and it said that their store was closed on Sundays. In desperate need of a phone that weekend, I went to one of the kiosks in the mall to have the screen refixed since iFix was closed. After 15 minutes, my screen was finally replaced and working. They gave me my previous screen back so that I could get a refund, but unfortunately it was cracked from when they took it off. After work on Monday, My friend and I headed over to iFix to get my refund, and I have never experienced such bad customer. I explained to the owner of the store what happened to the screen and why I felt the need to get a full refund, but he refused to give me a full refund for the screen because it was cracked. I didn't think I should have to pay for the screen because one, I didn't break it, and two, it wouldn't have been broken if they didn't give me a faulty screen in the first place. The owner didn't agree with what I was saying because he said I should've came in on Sunday to get it refixed. However, the website on their business card that was given to me when I first got my phone fixed said the store was CLOSED on Sundays. The owner proceeded to tell me I should've "double-checked" their Yelp page for their hours, so it was somehow my fault. Why would I feel the need to double check their hours if "their" site told me otherwise? Trying to compromise with the owner, I decided to give him my first faulty screen I got off eBay for him to send back to his manufacture so that I wouldn't have to pay for the other cracked screen, even though I could've gotten my full refund of $40 from the company off eBay. While we were arguing, the owner of the store began to get extremely heated and decided that bringing back a broken screen was similar to him breaking my property. So he broke his broken faulty screen, my faulty screen off eBay, my perfectly good Blackberry Storm 2, and he tried to break my friend's HTC One. Thankfully, my friends phone wasn't damaged. After the middle-aged owner finished throwing his little temper tantrum, he proceeded to threaten to kill my friend and I. How professional of him, right? The owner had asked my friend to leave after breaking my property, but he refused to because he didn't want me to be alone with the owner after what had happened. The owner then decided to call the cops on my friend for "trespassing". Thankfully, the cop was very understanding and just asked my friend to leave so that I could settle the situation with the owner. The owner was still very uncooperative and ended up only giving me $50 for my Blackberry, but I still had to give him $40 for his faulty screen that he broke even more. On top of all that, he didn't even give me a refund for my screen that I got off eBay, he just gave me another screen, the one, is probably also broke, and two isn't even for an iPhone 5. In the end, he was out $90; $40 for the iPhone 5 screen he broke, $40 for the "iPhone 5" screen he gave me, and $10 for my Blackberry. Was that really worth it? It may not have been right of me to bring back a cracked screen, but I definitely think the owner handled this situation the wrong way. Long story short, don't come here if you really want your phone fixed. One, you'll get a poor quality screen, and two, you'll experience TERRIBLE customer service if you go back to get a refund. read more

DO NOT GO TO THIS STORE. Take your money to another store to get a better repair for better prices. And, you can avoid the bulls**t that these people put me through. I have been to this store multiple times, and especially in my last experience it became apparent that I was dealing with inconsiderate crooks. I read an incredibly long and negative review on Yelp before I went there, but I figured it was unfounded and decided to ignore it. Big mistake. This most recent visit to the store, I was bringing back my phone because within 2 weeks, the new screen they had given me was already broken. I did not drop it. I pulled it out of my pocket while lounging around only to discover that SOMEHOW it had broken inside of my pocket. Clearly it had not been installed correctly in the first place. So, I went back with the intention of getting either a refund or a new phone screen. I entered the store with a fully functional, relatively new iPhone 5s. The only problem was a thin crack in the screen he had given me. In the end, not only did I leave empty handed, but I left in a much worse off position than before. I was beyond pissed. The employee removed his screen from my phone, grudgingly gave me a refund after much argument, and told me he was going to give me a faulty screen so i could go get it repaired somewhere else. I figured that was great, as long as I got my refund. When I got to the other store to get it fixed, they told me they could not fix it, because there were FIVE PIECES MISSING FROM THE INTERIOR OF THE PHONE, and now it has WATER DAMAGE. So, somehow, in the 25 minutes that the employee was handling my phone, my phone went from cracked to COMPLETELY BROKEN. When I returned to the store to give the employee a piece of my mind, he admitted to not putting the 5 pieces in (he knew exactly what I was referring to when I mentioned it) and said that he had nothing to do with my phone breaking. Coincidence then? I think not. Upon further argument later, over the phone, he said that he left the 5 pieces out on purpose, because he thought he had been ripped off by giving me a refund. Fantastic business strategy. His "solution" that he presented to me was that he would simply take my phone back, give it a new Apple screen, and clean it to make it look like nobody had touched it or tampered with it. By doing this, he would enable me to go back to Apple and file an insurance claim so that I could get a brand new phone. That's right-in lawyer speak-he suggested to me INSURANCE FRAUD. He even added that he had done it for people plenty of times before. It was unbelievable. Now, after going to multiple stores to simply get a cracked screen fixed, I am filing a lawsuit because the owner refused to acknowledge the incident and met the criticism with astonishing disrespect when I brought the matter to his attention. He preferred I sue him than give me the money to get a new phone after they broke mine. So I obliged him. Moral of the story- DON'T TRUST THIS PLACE. Even before I had this conflict the employees were very rude to me and even charged me more than they charged my sister for the exact same procedure. Don't make the same mistake I did, read the horror story, and decide to go there anyway. Trust me, it's not worth it. Take your screen to any other place. There are three higher quality stores at Westfield Mall that have even better prices than they do for higher quality work. Just don't go here. read more

This is probably a great place, but the customer service is HORRIBLE. You know when someone walks into a place like this, they are already very upset (life without your phone is no life at all). Anyway, the person there never once looked up from what he was doing. He just asked me the problem, was very condescending ("did you plug in your phone," I mean, duh -- told him I dropped it an now it is shatter with a black screen, though I feel it vibrate when I turn it on). Then without even looking up quoted me a price and said it would take up to 3 days! Everyone has bad days and/or maybe the just doesn't like women. I don't know, but he was very off-putting. AMAZING! Went in to see if they could fix my laptop. My laptop would turn on, but nothing would show up on the screen...I brought in my laptop, explained the problem, and they were able to fix it in an hour! When I went to pick up my laptop, they told me what was wrong with it and turned on my laptop to prove that it was fixed. I asked them how much it would cost and they said that it was free! I've been ripped off at other repair places, so when they told me it was free I was shocked! I felt bad that they just fixed it for me for free, so giving them an awesome yelp review is the least that I can do :) Amazing customer service, really fast, and the employees are awesome! The cracked glass on my iphone 5s was replaced with a damaged glass. It had a slightly visible vertical line in the middle of the screen. I didn't see it right a way and when I came back they refused to replace it saying that I put it there. So, I ended up paying $100 for a damaged glass which they refused to replace. Even though it is within walking distance I will not return to this shop as their staff is uncooperative and unpleasant. Back in Oct 2015, I brought my Asus tablet in to have the battery replaced as the original battery was not lasting long. I didn't say anything at the time, but it seemed a bit expensive for a battery ($60) when I knew that less than half of that cost was the battery itself. Needless to say, in Jan (2016) when the 'new' battery began needing charging on a daily basis, I was not happy. I brought the tablet back in as I felt that if the original battery had lasted more than 1.5 years, the new one should last longer than 3 months. Either the 'new' battery was a cheap replacement or they were sold a used battery. Either way I felt they should put a NEW battery in this time. Instead they 'tested' my tablet to see if the battery was working as expected. I have no idea what they did other than turn it on. Of course, it goes to sleep after a minute and the battery will certainly not go down if not used. When I came back to pick it up I was told the battery was operating fine. When I said that my own use did not show the same thing, they merely repeated that the battery was fine and that "they didn't even have a charger in the shop to charge it". Well that was an out and out lie and only added to their defensive and accusatory attitude. My tablet takes an ordinary mini-USB which anyone would have in a computer repair shop. Merely for customer satisfaction, they could have replaced the battery and sent it back to where they purchased it for refund. Instead they left me feeling that their only concern is making money and the customer is secondary. read more

Bought a screen from iFix Mobile. They ran a promotion and gave us a free screen protector. Less than one week later the phone dropped off the couch and the screen completely shattered, with the protector on. Just called to ask for a replacement, and they told me, "Sure, we'll replace it for the same cost This is not under warranty." They said they only cover defects, not the actual screen. This seems silly to me -- if you put a screen on AND a screen protector, and then the screen breaks within a week, it should be replaced for free. Just my two cents. Took in a samsung galaxy s3 with a cracked screen. Checked with my phone insurance, they wanted a $200 deductible to replace the phone (with a phone of a different color at that). I was told the cost would be $80 (approx) and it would take 40 minutes. Mine took about an hour due to a complication with installing the new glass, but $80 later I had a new glass for my phone screen. Saved the hassle of switching phones and paying insurance deductible. Also took in a Toshiba laptop with hinge problems related to opening and closing the laptop. $75 later it was fixed. read more

I just moved to Rockville and live right by iFix, so I decided to stop in yesterday.
