    What I got

I requested a specific hair color and style and did not get what I asked for. Not even close. She told me it would not look good.

    Blond highlights

Sue, the owner of the shop, did my full blond highlights, and they turned out beautifully. She gave me a trim too. Her English is great, and it was easy to communicate what I wanted done with my hair. She will now be my hairdresser going forward. So happy to have found her, and her prices are very reasonable!

Sue at Ideal Salon is the best hair stylist in the north Seattle area! I love that she remembers me as a client, is patient and understanding with my needs, and offers helpful suggestions as well. Sue has done color, highlights, deep conditioning, and a cut for me multiple times and I am always happy. Her prices are incredibly affordable and you don't have to wait too long for an appointment. I highly recommend Sue at Ideal Salon!

She did an amazing job on my hair. Love the highlights! Also very personable and pleasant to be around.

I got a GroupOn for partial highlights here and I really wanted it to work out. Sadly, it ended up being a nightmare and I had to spent $300+ at another salon for them to correct the highlights that Sue did. I wanted subtle highlights to enhance my natural color, and instead got horrible white, streaky lines. So ugly! I feel bad because Sue is really nice, but this was definitely a lesson learned for me.

I loved my partial highlights!! Sue is amazing and both my mom and I are now returning customers because of her dedication to customer service and the care she puts into your hair! I told her what I wanted and she executed it perfectly! I'll definitely be back!!

Sue is a wonderful hair stylist. She gave me one of the best cuts/styles I've ever had. I would highly recommend her to anyone.

Great service. Friendly and consistent haircuts. Fairly priced. I recommend it for men.

A lot of people just keep messing it up since I lost my other hairdresser so I decided to come here to Sue.

Overall: 2 Stars…read more Cleanliness-5/5 Staff friendliness-5/5 Quality-1/5 Mani/pedi I rarely get my nails done, so I'll admit some of this might be on me. I went in for a basic manicure and pedicure, and during the process, the technician pulled out a drill file. I specifically asked not to have my nails drilled, as I don't like the potential damage it can cause--especially since I was only getting regular polish. She explained that the tool was for my cuticles, not the nail surface, and asked if that was okay. Since I haven't had my nails done in about six months and am not an expert, I agreed. During the cuticle work, I did feel some discomfort and mentioned that it felt warm around my cuticles. She adjusted her pressure slightly after that, which I appreciated. However, during the next 72 hours, my nails became increasingly sensitive, especially to heat--like when washing my hair or doing dishes. After doing some research, it seems this may have been a version of a "Russian manicure." My cuticles are now very tender, and my nail beds still feel sore. Additionally, one of my nails chipped and another cracked just a few days later. I know that regular polish doesn't last as long, so I'll take some responsibility there, but I expected at least a week before any noticeable wear. On the positive side, the technician was very kind and the salon itself was clean and welcoming. That said, the discomfort and sensitivity I'm experiencing make it unlikely that I'll return. This was definitely a learning experience for me--next time, if a drill is involved in any way with cuticle care, I'll politely decline.

This is my third time going to this amazing establishment and a surprise and delight every single time.. this time I got a haircut and bleach and pink. Normally this would cost me about $1200 at a high-end salon and I would have to wait months for an appointment.. these guys took me in the next day and probably gave me the best haircut bleach and dye I've ever had. I'm from New York City and lived in Los Angeles so I have extremely high standards. The guy who cut my hair, didn't speak any English but somehow I knew how to give me the best haircut of my life. They were fast faster and better than any place. I've been to in Manhattan or Los Angeles. The place may look a little old and you might not get champagne, but you do get treats and soda. They are fast and efficient and extraordinarily detailed. I'm actually sad that I just moved to North Carolina because it's gonna take me a long time before finding another place as good as this one.

I booked here based on the strong reviews, but unfortunately my experience didn't match the rating…read more I should have researched the location more beforehand, because the salon felt much more like a budget chain experience despite the premium pricing. When booking online, I selected "long hair" at the listed $65 price. Thankfully I confirmed the pricing upon arrival, because later during the appointment I was told my hair was "longer than long" and would actually cost $75. That felt frustrating and unclear. The haircut itself also didn't feel worth the price. The stylist didn't seem particularly confident, and overall the service lacked the attention and professionalism I would expect at this price point. I also wasn't greeted when I arrived, wasn't offered a place to put my belongings, and after my wash I was left walking back dripping wet without much assistance. The stylist who did my hair also came across as very cold and rude throughout the appointment, even though I tried to be friendly and kind. That said, there was another woman working there who seemed genuinely warm and welcoming to other customers, so maybe I was just unlucky with who I was paired with. At the end, my hair was straightened without really asking whether that was how I wanted it styled. When I asked about curling it instead, I was told the straightening counted as the one complimentary style. They eventually offered to curl it anyway, but only after I explained I hadn't wanted it straightened in the first place. Overall, this felt more comparable to a basic chain salon experience while charging significantly more. As someone with long women's hair, I personally wouldn't return or recommend it based on my experience.

The work felt rushed and sloppy, with several basic steps clearly skipped. The finish was uneven and lacked attention to detail, which is unacceptable given the prices they charge. What bothered me the most was the hygiene. The tools did not appear to be properly sterilized and were reused between clients, which is honestly concerning and made me very uncomfortable. Cleanliness should be a non negotiable standard in a nail salon, especially when it comes to personal care services. On top of that, they require a minimum 18 percent tip, which feels completely unjustified considering the poor quality of the service. The prices are already high, and for such mediocre results and questionable hygiene practices, it simply does not make sense. I will not be coming back. It is a real shame because I was hoping to find a high quality, professional nail salon, but this was definitely not it. Edit : I think you should remind your employees about the hygiene more than remind me that I can ask about tipping options
