She gave me the worst hair cut I ever had one side longer then the other and the one side was cut so bad I told her I was growing it out she cut it short. Went back to see if she could somehow fix the one side and she started cutting the bad side again. Now I have to go pay another stylist to try and fix it. Sue has worked on my hair for over a decade now. From a keratin treatment to many wonderful haircuts. She is the only person I will see. Lately I have been doing Botox for my hair. It has brought my hair back after cancer treatment. No one but Sue does this. I had written about my treatments before but those reviews have disappeared. So let me tell you about my most recent haircut. My hair is fine but wispy. Sue understands this. She added just the right amount of layers so I have volume. She is a precision cutter. She listened to me. She also colored my hair. I have the ugliest grey hair and now with Sue I have dark brownish black hair with a touch of warm reddish brown giving a dimension to it. Sadly, it ended up being a nightmare and I had to spent $300+ at another salon for them to correct the highlights that Sue did. I wanted to like this salon, since it's in my neighborhood and had good ratings on Yelp. I didn't want to leave a bad review because Sue (owner) is nice), but this hair cut goes down in history as one of the worst cuts I have ever gotten in my life. I went into the salon and talked to Sue about what I wanted done before she started and even pointed to a photo on her wall, which was exactly what I asked for. Very simply, all I wanted was a short bob with a long layer. This is the MOST basic of haircuts. I repeated myself at least 4 times that I wanted the back to turn under and wanted a short bob. She even said, "OK, OK, I've got it," since I repeated myself so many times. Instead, she gave me a short bouffant style that is a hot mess. The hair is flipping up and going in all different directions. She put so many layers in that you have got to be kidding, after my very clear directions. In fact, she kept saying how thick my hair was and how much hair I had, and then she proceeded to get the thinning shears and thinned it all out, so it sits flat on my head like a wet rat. I finally said to her, "What are you doing? Stop it!" It's horrible. If I had been unclear, maybe I would understand it. I would post a pic, but I am sorry, it is too embarrassing. I look terrible, and hate this cut. I think Sue likes to talk and got caught up in talking and got into a zone of cutting without even thinking about what she was doing. I can tell when a cut is good, because I don't even need a brush to blow dry. I can use my fingers. Even with a brush, this cut is wonky to the 1000th degree. I paid her and gave her a tip, which was a mistake. I should not have done either for this awful cut. read more

Do not recommend. I went in and showed Sue multiple pictures of what I wanted and she agreed to that, I asked questions to make sure she understood what I wanted as well and she said that she did. I wanted partial highlights beginning in the front roots of my hair, however towards the back they were to start more at the bottom (which is sort of balayage look). Sue said she understood this, however proceeded to highlight the back of my hair very heavily, and did highlights in the front however they began in a straight line, and around 3 inches down from my roots. When I told her this was not what I wanted, she argued with me and said that that is what I said I wanted. I had a Groupon for "partial highlights" that I was going to use, and was stuck with a horrible orange color of highlights that was completely different from the photos I had showed her. When I told her this was not the color I wanted, she told me it would be an extra $30 to pay for toner to change the color. I paid for the toner, only to discover that Sue only toned the BACK of my hair, not the front. Therefore, the back was a better brunette (my hair is very dark brown) but the front was still an ugly orange blonde. I told Sue that I wanted another appointment to fix my hair because I did not like it, and she told me that I should like my hair because "that is the style now days. She agreed that she did not tone the front of my hair, but said that I would have to pay for more toner and more highlight if she was going to fix it. I did like my haircut, and did like my deep conditioning treatment, however I would not recommend this place for coloring. read more

Found this salon and Sue thru Groupon for partial highlights. Decided to also get a haircut and am so happy I did! I've searched high and low for someone to cut my wavy/curly, cow-licked hair that has befuddled me every single day of my life. In my search I've visited salon after salon, had expensive cuts from "expert" stylists but the cuts always left me unbelievably frustrated because I had to settle for liking my hair ONLY about 2 weeks between cuts whether it was 6 weeks or 6 months. This time was different as I walked out of the salon after Sue's cut, loving the cut from that point on until she cut it the next time! And my hair was unbelievably easy to managed all during the time between! Easy to manage and quick to fix! Life saver!!! And people that don't have wavy/curly, cow-licked hair that has no symmetry do not understand that every day is an ordeal.
