I reached out to Heather through her website submission form and she responded pretty quickly to send a quote for a curly cut/style and set up an appointment. I was very happy with the price, especially since most "curly hair" salons will charge for a first-time consultation and then into the hundreds of dollars for a cut. I thought her quote was very affordable. The location was easy to find, but the street doors to the building are locked, so you need to go in through the parking lot and find the inside hall doors, which are unlocked. Her single room salon was very clean and organized. She was very thoughtful about the cut I wanted, and asked questions about how my hair usually behaves. She said that she believes that the person who knows your hair best is you, and I really appreciated that, because I've definitely had stylists in the past who have heard me, and then gone ahead to give me whatever cut they felt like. I was hoping that adding layers and taking off some length would help my wider 2B/2C curls shrink and give my hair more volume, and the results started immediately and continued into a few days after the cut. My hair feels easier to wash, style, and manage in general, and it maintains its look for longer. Heather recommended some products she likes, but she didn't push for me to buy them, which is another thing I've experienced in other salons. The appointment lasted about 90 minutes. I came in for my second curly cut. First time was with someone else at a different salon, and they did almost nothing, and seemed like they didn't even want to be there. Anyway, this haircut is everything. Even with my hair just air drying, my curls have never looked better. I'm so happy with how everything turned out. I went with my wife to get her hair cut at Curlyn in Edmonds. She had not been in since last March, when COVID started. We were absolutely shocked to see that Heather, the owner, was not wearing a mask in her salon and refused to do so. This is a state law right now and I cannot believe she is coming in contact with all of her customers without caring about their safety. We did not feel comfortable with this at all so we left. Heather is awesome! Very personable and sweet! I just came in for a balayage. And my hair turned out lighter than it's ever been! I love it! Only regret I have is not finding Heather sooner!!! I've wasted so much money going to other salons just to "box dye" my hair a few weeks later because I didn't like the results. Her space is also great, very clean and modern. I saw Heather for a cut and balayage color. I had a picture of the color that I have used for years, which is copper, and we both agreed to it. I came away the first time with a burgundy tone that I did not like. She agreed to "correct" it. Suffice it to say that I spent 3 hours there for her to fix the initial color and it came out far worse then I started. She proceeded to tell me that I should get a "clarifying" shampoo and wash it at home to help some of the color fade. She also said that she would "try" to correct the "corrected" version of color but could not guarantee the results. I am bewildered by this still. I kindly requested a refund, which she denied because of all of the time and service that she had provided. This turned out to be a horrible experience and the expense is ridiculous considering the end result. Beware.... read more

I absolutely LOVE Heather. Not only is she great at what she does, she is one of the sweetest, kindest person I've met! I recently went to her salon for the first time. Her shop is adorable and has a cute shabby chic feel. I don't get my hair done as often as I would like but coming here gave me that "all about me" feel. I received a Brazilian blowout and my hair has never felt so good! Normally I spend a total of an hour to an hour and a half doing my hair but after receiving my blowout I can let my hair air dry and then spend only 10 min straightening it! I was very disappointed with the level of professionalism I received from Heather. I received a gift card for Mother's Day from Spa Finder and was excited to get my hair done for the first time in many years. I found Heather on the Spa Finder website and was excited about the great reviews. Upon arrival, I told Heather I had a Spa Finder gift card. It wasn't until she had finished coloring and cutting my hair that she informed me that she would not take the gift card. Confused and upset that I would now be paying 200 dollars for a very short haircut and light highlights, I contacted Spa Finder for a refund. Spa Finder informed me Heather should have taken the gift card as she was still an active member on the website. The quality of service I received was not worth the price, but I am most disappointed with the lack of integrity and dishonesty of this salon. read more

THE ONLY PLACE I WILL GO! Heather is absolutely amazing and I am so thankful I found this spot. I had been wanting a very specific bright blonde balayage for a long time, and I went to a lot of high end salons trying to find someone that would be able to do it. I had actually given up and thought it was impossible to get my hair as light and dimensional as I dreamed. I heard about Heather through a friend who's hair always looked beautiful and decided to give her a shot. Boy, am I glad I did! Heather really listened to what I wanted and thought of creative ways to get it. She did a balayage/foliage technique on my hair and I LOVE IT! I have never gotten so many compliments in my life. It is better than I had ever hoped. The products she uses are wonderful as well, and I can't believe that my hair as actually gotten healthier! She is a very talented stylist as well and my cuts are perfect for my wavy textured hair. Additionally, her studio is very clean, beautiful, and private. Going there is a relaxing retreat. Heather is a true gem in the salon world. I have tried multiple salons and stylists in the past and often left feeling unsatisfied and overcharged, with mediocre cuts that I just wait to grow out and try again.
