    Sad Mardi Gras cake
    Kandace W.

Urg... it's my birthday and I ordered a Mardi Gras theme cake design. I just picked up the cake and I'm not impressed. First of all, they dropped the ball on the cake flavor and I had to pay for a larger cake. Apparently, the flavor I requested was only for the month of February. If a mistake is made fine but they should have made it right without expecting me to pay for it .Then, when I see this cake I'm like where is the design all I have is "Happy Birthday" in purple and a lackluster mask. I saw their Mardi Gras cupcakes and had high hopes. This is a case of a shop taking advantage of the location. There are several locations in central Oregon and maybe that's the reason they feel like they can get away with this. If you order a cake for any occasion and request a design --please get a sketch.

Delicious cupcakes. I've been coming here for a couple of weeks. But they are getting 4 stars for the last visit from this weekend, 7/11. I ordered two gf/v cupcakes and the girl marked the two in a square to be put in a separate box. When we picked them up, they were in the same box as the other 10 cupcakes and said they weren't told to be separate even though it was written down on the paper. Luckily they were not touching and put them in a separate box for us. Otherwise, the staff is friendly and quick.

Pumpkin and Red Velvet. Seriously the best cupcakes I've had.

This place is right next door to the Moto Shop, which I had to visit for repair parts for my motorcycle. WOW, these are the best cupcakes I've ever had. On my first visit, my friend and I tried the red velvet with cream cheese icing, and one of the specialty pumpkin cupcakes. These cupcakes are super moist, so if you like dry cupcakes, go elsewhere! They're so good that I made a rule: I can only visit them when something breaks on my bike. Fortunately, a few days after my first visit to Ida's Too and the Moto Shop next door, my bike died and needed some help, which meant it was cupcake time! I got the pumpkin cupcake with some amazing bourbon icing (honey bourbon? who knows, but my eyes rolled back in my head when I ate it, it was that good). Try it, you won't be disappointed. But consider putting some rule like mine in place so you don't lose all control and eat there every day.

I was looking for gluten free cupcakes in the area and found this awesome place. They have a great variety (regular, gf, and even gf+vegan), delicious and seasonal flavors, and a very friendly staff! It was fun to find out we got to choose the cake and frosting combo when we ordered, and she decorated them fresh. We will definitely be returning!

The cake I made on my own for 28.00

The leopard cake is the cake I paid 58.00 for! You can't even see my daughters name. This is a joke ! Also told 3 dollars a color I only see three colors and was charged 15 extra for these hand drawn spots ? Those looks like blobs of icing to me. If you look at their portfolio they have talent i just don't think that talent was used on my order on my order the person did not care!!! However the money I had to pay was for quality. I see no quality thought or imagination put into this cake and I should get a refund !!! The cake is all we have for her birthday. Our daughter has been uprooted from her home in Hawaii with a military move plus pandemic we have no community of friends or family yet!! So this cake meant something to my family but I guess not to the person who decorated it and took my money that I work very hard for.

2 dozen of Ida's mini cupcakes!! So cute and tasted amazing!

Thank you Ida's Cupcakes!! I called on the Monday after Easter for a pick up Tuesday morning for my daughters mommy and me class celebrating her birthday. At first, I called over the Galveston location but had some communication issues with the gal working as I wanted the cupcakes to look like a post from their Facebook page from Easter and needed them before 11am. When I was not getting the normal A+ customer service Ida's staff ALWAYS gives, I called to this location (SW Division St.) Ida answered the phone took the time and care to listen to just what I wanted and when I needed it and the cupcakes were ready Tuesday morning and were PERFECT!! Not only did the parents, children and teachers love the spring colors everyone agreed BEST CUPCAKES EVER! The mini dozen are great size for class parties. Thank you Ida you will be getting lots of business for a happy group and thanks for going above and beyond.

Very skimpy on the icing. This is a gourmet cupcake, huge, and there's not even enough icing to cover the cupcake. Not cool. I called the bakery but they were already closed and the guy said, "What do you want me to do about it." Really. These were supposed to be for Thanksgiving for someone who is gluten free. Horrible. I'm giving "2" stars and not "1" because I should have checked the cupcakes before I left the bakery, so my bad there.

Another great cake from Ida's Too!

I looked around for something similar, but less the cardamon and came across Cafe des Chutes. We visited at 9 am on a Sunday and it wasn't too crowded at all, with only a single person ahead. They have plenty of seating and I think most people decide to eat their treats in the cafe; we had to hit the trail though, so we got ours to go to eat while hiking. Mango Sticky Rice Honey Glazed Croissant ($6.25) - Woah, this is an exceptionally sticky pastry, so sticky it's actually a little cumbersome to eat since the glaze spreads on any surface it touches and becomes very difficult to remove. The glaze tastes just like fresh honey - in fact, I wouldn't be surprised if it were mostly honey. There's not much mango flavor until closer to the center, along with another flavor of something very fragrant almost flowery They sprinkle coconut flakes on top, giving a somewhat fruity flavor. The croissant itself is very good - great crust, nicely flaky and crisp with a great texture on the interior, chewy and airy. The lamination seems to be good based on a cursory inspection, but I didn't have a sharp bread knife on me for a clean cut as I usually do. The pastry is very sweet and the glaze covers up the flavor of the croissant entirely. (5/5) Oregon Roll ($6.25) - This base, on the other hand, is really buttery, combining the great lamination, crispy and flaky, with great flavor. There's a fantastic honeycomb texture on the inside combined with the perfect chewiness. They do add a marionberry swirl on the interior, which is pretty obviously included in terms of color, but can't really be tasted on top of the croissant butteriness. On top, they spread a spiced hazelnut glaze, sweet and nutty, almost like peanut butter in texture mixed with butter. Delicious pastry overall. (5/5) Savory Bread Pudding ($10) - This is a super dense and heavy (in weight) bread pudding baked in a muffin mold. They offer to heat it up and it's a really good idea to eat this warmed. We opted to get it cold since we weren't going to eat it for a couple of hours (for a picnic lunch) and it basically wasn't edible, with super dense, bitter and stale tasting bread, making it hard to even stick a fork into the top. We ended up waiting until we got to the hotel room to heat it up the next morning for breakfast, which made it much more palatable. There's some mushroom essence with tons of black pepper and a dense yet pleasingly chewy bread. Cheese is baked on top and there's a little vegetal bitterness from spinach. Not rating this since we ate it the next day. Overall I enjoyed my treats from Cafe des Chutes. I would visit again the next time I'm in Bend. Bathrooms - Tiny room near the front. The water heater takes up some of the space inside, so it's quite warm in the room

Verdict: Zydeco is an outstanding restaurant in virtually every way. No negatives to report. The place is popular - arriving just before opening on a weekday, there was a line to get in. Reservations are definitely a good idea here. Our early arrival in line allowed us to choose a good table in the back, where it wouldn't be too hectic. That too was a good idea as the place gets loud with conversation when it fills up. Music wasn't loud, just the people. The menu isn't huge but there are quite a few, varied choices. Given the meal was a bit of a splurge for us, I essentially ignored the prices, which are not trivial by any means. Fine dining entails spending money. Zydeco has a ton of reviews and as the menu apparently doesn't change, I'll just say everything we ordered was great. Cocktails too. The Bramble Down is exquisite. Service was top tier as well. Timely, attentive, professional without being stiff. The capstone to our experience involved the bill. We actually had a gift card from 2017 - nine years ago. While it certainly didn't cover the whole bill, or even half, it was a nice way to defray costs. Unfortunately, when the server ran the gift card, it showed no balance. Not sure why but perhaps over the years, the card had been erased by stray EMF. Despite that and given we provided the card receipt, the restaurant honored the card for the full amount anyway. Well done. Highly recommended.
