We were especially grateful for them last month when our AC went out over a summer weekend while we were out of the country. My elderly mother was staying at our house to pet-sit and was understandably worried, but Clear Air responded in just a couple of hours. It turned out to just be a thermostat issue, but their rapid response in the heat of the summer gave my mom total peace of mind. Highly recommend!

I find it unacceptable that a relatively new unit would require such expensive repairs. Is this the expected performance and service lifespan for your air conditioning systems? I would appreciate a clarification regarding these costs and the condition of my unit.

It started with an evening call asking for guidance after her original HVAC company left her without a reasonable repair option. Not only did Mike promptly find a solution that night, he had William out first thing the next morning to make the repair. Do yourself a favor and just call them to schedule. They are the real deal.

Then within a week the unit stopped working. They came back, same technician, extremely rude and acted unprofessional as if I inconvenienced him. He looked at the unit and within a few minutes told me it was fixed. Next day, same problem, unit blowing at about half the capacity. I called and spoke with management, who agreed to send new technician. New person arrived and advised I needed a new belt, which he comped because of bad experience. Next day, still not working. Look at the video, does this look like quality work? The belt is so loose and out of balance, it's pathetic. Look at the calcium buildup, all occurred during this period of two weeks when Morehart was "working on solution". Do not use this company. I am surprised at the amount of great reviews for this company. My experience was the complete…read moreopposite. I called Cool Zone because they were authorized to perform warranty repairs on my ac system. The tech found that the compressor had failed and needed to be replaced. He confirmed the unit was still under a parts warranty so my cost would be the labor and new freon that was recommended. He quoted $3,300 for 4 hours of labor! Then said if i purchased a maintenance plan that covered 2 visits for both of my units it would be cheaper at just under $3,100. What? That doesn't make sense. You Buy a service plan and pay less ?!! I expect that the "maintenance" is not intended to take care of the units but to give them 2 more opportunities to overcharge for additional services. I was told they would check availability of the compressor and his office would call me the next day. I was charged a $89 diagnostic fee. I told him his office told me the fee would be waived for repairs over $300. It was obvious to me that he had no intention of sharing this policy with me and said he would discount the repair bill after the work was done. I heard nothing more from them. It has been 2 days. After looking into his price I was told by 2 different companies that the quote was at the high end of the range for a unit that was NOT under warranty. I did not share this quote with either of these companies until after they priced the repair. Both told me the same thing and both quotes were competitive. A different factory authorized business is repairing the unit including line set cleaning and new refrigerant for $1,800. This is a predatory business overcharging people that are stuck in the AZ heat with a broken ac unit. They say a sucker is born every minute. Dont be a sucker! Stay away.
