We scheduled a dryer inspection with Mallard Appliance for $69.99. After the inspection, Rebecca informed us that the required part had been ordered and scheduled a follow-up appointment for the following week between 2-4 PM. However, at 1:39 PM on the day of the appointment, she called to say the UPS package had been lost and the appointment would need to be canceled. We were frustrated by the last minute notice after planning our day around the scheduled repair. The following morning, Rebecca called again and stated that a replacement part would need to be reordered and would take another 7-10 business days to arrive. We politely asked whether any discount or other accommodation could be offered due to the delay and lack of timely communication. Instead of addressing the concern, Rebecca immediately suggested that we could use another repair company if we preferred. When we expressed concerns about the communication and asked to speak with the owner, Rebecca stated she was part owner and insisted the answer would still be no. During the conversation, the call was abruptly disconnected. When we called back, Rebecca stated she had been speaking with Brian, the owner, but we were never given the opportunity to speak with him directly. Fortunately, we contacted another appliance repair company that had the part immediately available and complete the repair the very next day. Overall, the experience with Rebecca from Mallard Appliance was disappointing due to poor communication, last-minute cancellation, and an unprofessional response to reasonable customer concerns. read more

Our OLD dryer needed repair. We don't believe they build them like they used to and we have been keeping our old Maytags going for over 30 years. Brian came out today to install my new gas cooktop that I purchased. He let me know when he would arrive and arrived at that time. He did an Awesome job! He got it replaced and went over all of the information I would need for care and use. He also completely cleaned up and placed the old unit in the new units box for easy disposal. We had Mallard out to check on our icemaker that was not working. They looked thoroughly at the ice maker and thought it was fixed, but the water was not getting in. The service person (sorry, I don't remember his name) then said that the water was not getting in and we needed a new ice maker. He would get back to us between 5-7 PM with an estimate. Our refrigerator is older, and we thought for sure that we would just end up getting a new one since the ice maker would be so expensive, but to our surprise, it ended up being very affordable. The customer service was excellent. We got multiple reminders when they would be arriving, and they were very responsive to questions and scheduling. read more

So far, I could not be more pleased. My dishwasher stopped working over the weekend. Here it is, Tuesday morning, and Brian has already come out. On time, extremely personable, did the troubleshooting, cleaned up after his work, and discussed the issue and possible solutions. Within hours, I had an estimate for the parts he needed and the labor. Estimate was well below expectations (certainly not complaining about that). Waiting now to find out when he can get the parts and come back for the final repair, but if he continues the way he has been going, I will have to be writing another 5 star revue in the next week or so. Brian came out to fix a fridge water filter and after just a few min, never even looked at the back where the water enters, told us it needed a new casing and tried to charge us for parts and install service when all what was wrong was the valve got shut off. Experience person should have known better. they claim that he would have checked it when he came out to install the new parts. Why couldn't he have checked it when he came out the first time for the initial service charge? So we would be charged twice plus charges for parts. He wasted our time and money. read more
