I called My Appliance Guy to have my refrigerator repaired as the freezer wasn't keeping my foods frozen. Blake diagnosed the problem within ten minutes saying the defrost unit no longer was working. He did a thorough explanation of what the defrost unit was and how this was affecting the freezer and ice maker. After he cleared ice from the back of the freezer and installed the new defrost unit, everything is working perfectly. One evening around 6 p.m. I noticed the freezer in my Maytag side-by-side wasn't running cold enough and things were starting to thaw. My go-to maintenance guy doesn't work on appliances so he recommended My Appliance Guy. I called and left a message that night, and early the next morning Halli called from the office. Prompt response - good start! We arranged a house call for later that day, and the repair tech showed up to diagnose the problem. He determined it was a freon leak, but a "leak test" would have to be done to determine if it was repairable or "dead". The test isn't cheap to run and there's no guarantee on the outcome. Fair enough. After considerable thought about the situation, and finding that my older, beautiful black Maytag would be hard to replace with one of the newer models, I decided to take the chance and have the test run. Fortunately, the problem was repairable, the part was available, and a few days later the tech, Blake, came back and fixed it. It wasn't an easy job for him, but he did great! I'm glad I took the chance because now my freezer/fridge is running colder and better than ever. Hope it stays that way! Bottom line: My Appliance Guy runs an efficient, professional business; they email with house call reminders, call when they are on the way, and provide easy payment methods with receipts via email. Mario, the owner, is not dependable. He forgets about appointments and then shows up an hour late while talking on his cell phone to greet you. He has a very pretentious attitude and makes a lot of excuses. After he apologizes he continues his behavior of disrespect towards his customers and employees with terrible communication leaving you to wonder what's going on. He maintains a high expectation from you, but fails to return any kind of decency. Mario's actions speak louder than his words, and you cannot trust the man at his word. read more

Just today, Chris (of My Appliance Guy) can to do routine maintenance/service on my washer, dryer, and refrigerator. He called ahead to provide an estimated arrival time. He reviewed what he was going to do; was exceptionally friendly and professional; and carefully reviewed all he had done to clean hoses, exhaust tubing, etc. and to adjust these three appliances for maximum long-term performance. No discussion....I will surely calling My Appliance Guy and asking for Chris for all future appliance care/service. After attempting to dry a small load of clothes, I discovered that my dryer drum wasn't turning. So, I sent out 5 RFQs via Yelp, and I heard back from 3 companies within 2 hrs 8-). I settled on My Appliance Guy, as Mario (owner) told me that they were able to get out here the same day (wasn't an emergency, but I took it; good timing, I think) I called. And, at a flat rate (was a few dollars cheaper than the other guy)+ parts. The 3rd company was unable to provide a estimate, without a service call for which there was a charge. The tech (Steve) called when he was 15 minutes away. And, he showed up promptly. After fixing the problem, Steve showed me that the dryer was working properly. Dealing with both Mario via Yelp, and on the phone, and Steve (phone and in person) was very easy. And, neither tried to sell me additional services. A great bunch to deal with. read more

Called in the morning because our fridge wasn't cooling as well. They came out in the afternoon same day which was great because we were getting desperate. He tried to fix it but the compressor was shot. The tech was very courteous and knowledgeable. He did his best to get it going but the price of a compressor was about the same as buying a new fridge. Gave us his opinion on what he thought was the best type fridge out there. Just charged the inspection fee that was quoted on the phone, no surprises. Would highly recommend this company. We used this service a couple times. Dryer bearings were bad. So they replace them. A week later it's making noise. They send a guy out again and he said it's the vent hook up where the dryer drum bent connects inside the machine. It was not connected. Seems they left some screws loose the last time they were here. They didn't do the work completely right. It's making noise again a week later when we used it. So they replace the bearings and it's making noise again. We both work for a living and according to their records 90 days had passed and were at square one because won't stand behind their products. So they want full price for crappy replacement parts and probably another incomplete job. I would not recommend this company. There are better companies that do a thorough job. read more

I had Mario and his son out several times to fix my dryer which was over heating - the first time his son vacuumed the inside and said that was the cause. That was not the cause because the dryer continued to over heat. Called again and son was not able to fix the problem so the next time Mario came with his son and they said the problem was a thermal fuse and a thermometer which they replaced on November 18, 2020 with a 90 day warrantee. A few days ago the same thing happened and I call to have them come out and look at it again. I never got the courtesy of a response to my call. Very disappointed in this customer service and can not recommend this company for that reason. read more

Our refrigerator sprouted a leak and water accumulated on the floor. At first, we thought we needed a new unit but the refrigerator and freezer operated well. Turned out to be a broken line from the unit into the water source. Mario came out and suggested two options. One was more expensive and not necessary, he told us. Mario said he needed the part and agreed to return the next day. Before arriving, he called and explained his schedule. When he arrived, the line was repaired and within about 20 minutes. We initially called this business because my sister had used them in the past and recommended them. The tech came out on 6/13/2023. Our Samsung washer was shaking violently. Had this washer just under 2 years. The tech determined that nothing was wrong and to keep loads balanced. We did as told and the problem got worse so in August we called and the tech arrived. He said that the "shocks" we broken and needed to be replaced. The shop didn't have the part so they needed to order it. Several weeks passed and I heard nothing back so I called them. Parts are still in back order. So I looked on YouTube to see how complicated the fix was. Not only was the fix not complicated at all, the tech on the video recommended the part to be ordered through Amazon. I ordered them on Sunday and arrived on Thursday. 30 minutes to fix. To this day I haven't heard back from this business so if they truly ordered the parts then they can now use them with another customer. read more
