One star for the very very nice young man that kept his cool and his smile during a chaotic visit. Sunday afternoon they had 2 employees working. We were informed it would be 30 mins for our icecream as they had other orders ahead of us and it takes about 5 mins. Per individual ice cream order. I had no where else to be and said that was fine. In the next 40 mins this is what I experienced: One employee would stop making the icecream and take orders, or also get pulled away from instore orders to make the online orders coming in. 8 potential customers came in and left after being told it would be about a 30 min wait, thats money out the door! 8 customers lost in 40 mins! One online order customer came in and was very upset that the icecream they ordered an hour earlier was not even made yet, putting a hold on all in house customers still patiently waiting. This place needs major business help and a new interior makeover. Ice cream was good, one employee out of the 2 was so sweet! This place was awesome! I hadn't been in a while ever since Covid 19 has kept us at home. I recently had to go into Gilroy for and appointment and thought we would stop by icicles! I am so glad we did! The gentleman, who I think might have been the owner, was so kind and warm. He helped us with our order and made suggestions and made our ice cream right in front of us. The facility was very clean and all the surfaces looked wiped down. It made me feel very confident about the quality of the product. And.... it tasted amazing! I was so so happy with my purchase! Love this place! The line was pretty long since it's takes time for each person to get their order since everything is made in front of you. I love all their options of toppings which is unlimited. There were 4 people in front of us who were waiting for over a half hour already. I was extremely excited when I read this store was opening a location in Gilroy. that being said, I have only been to Icicles once since it opened and I am not sure that I will be returning...I had heard about this spot from a friend who lives in San Jose (apparently the San Jose store is amazing). I went early on a Saturday, like other reviewers have said the music was extremely loud (not a huge issue for me just thought I would mention it). We chose our flavors, and for a family of 5 the price was nothing to scoff at. I had heard that the toppings were unlimited but this store is super stingy with the toppings and when I asked for more of 1 specific topping, all I got was an eye roll and a quick squirt of the liquid chocolate. I was not at all impressed with their customer service, I may stick to driving to San Jose for Coldstone. read more

Way better than your average ice cream store. Icicles is basically an upbeat Thai rolled ice cream place where you get to watch the workers make it in front of you. If you are overwhelmed by the plethora of flavors, I would recommend the Honeydew. Honestly though, you can't go wrong with any of the options. Lines may look a bit long, but it goes by pretty fast. Service is super friendly and fast. Plenty of parking as well. Definitely coming back here again in the future. read more

This isn't my first time going to Icicles, I went to the one in San Jose when it was trending. So when I heard one was opening in gilroy it was pretty exciting because I don't have to drive far to get some ice cream and boy I am disappointed with the one in gilroy. Here's why I gave it 2 stars. First of all, when you go order you pick the flavor, give your name, pay for the ice cream, and they call your name when it's time to make the ice cream in front of you, then you add toppings after at the topping station. Simple right? Well it sounds like it but they managed to mess that up. When I get to the cashier I tell her I want cereal killer, then asks me which one and then proceeds to ask me if I want fruity pebbles. I told her no I wasn't Cinnamon Toast Crunch. I understand working in the food business you want to get things moving when there's a line out the door, but when you don't even give a chance to speak then it's just annoying. Then she asked for my name, I told her Nessi and she wrote down Nancy. Alright whatever it's cool it's not the first time this happened to me, she probably just couldn't hear me over the loud music and ice cream making. So we go over and wait to get our names called to see our ice cream be made. They call my boyfriends name first because he ordered before me so i watch them make his, looks great and amazing. Then there's mine. First of all the kid making mine didn't even call out my name. He was talking to his coworker and kind of just put the cereal down on the tray to make without calling a name. Like alright, looks like mine so I'm going to assume it's mine just because it's after my boyfriend. So after about a minute of him standing around I walked up and then he called out a name. About time! Too bad he fucked up. Like I said it's not my first time at Icicles, it looks like it was his first day on the job because it didn't look like he knew what he was doing. And was being a bit cocky about working there. And it could be for all I know. But if it's not that's pretty sad because the girl next to him got it perfectly done. And my boyfriends ice cream looked perfect. And when this kid fucked up he kind of stood around, didn't know want to do, tried to fix it then tried to roll that messed up piece. That was a train wreck. There is no consistency in the pieces that were rolled and a little nub that was half the size of the rest. Pathetic. And he knew he messed up bad and didn't offer to start over or offer anything at all which isn't professional. The kid that put the topping also knew he fucked up and kind of just looked at it weird and proceeded to put toppings. I just got chocolate chips because I was already disappointed and just wanted to leave at that point. And when I tried the chocolates they tasted like they came start from the dollar store. So this whole experience has been a huge disappointment. The only reason I'm not giving it a one star is because my boyfriends ice cream actually looked good meanwhile mine looked like crap. So I know they are capable of a lot better, but they need to be more consistent with quality control and training. And next time you mess up that bad, don't be cheap and offer a remake. In the picture you can see the little nub in the back, looks like there's nothing there followed by a really long piece. And then chocolate chips only sprinkled in the middle. Unique experience and a fantastic taste! The Nutella injection is my favorite. The staff is patient and willing to incorporate any wild combo that you can come up with. I would certainly recommend checking them out. Only negative point is that it is very expensive. Got 4 cups of rolled ice cream and it cost nearly $40. read more

I went to Icicles for the very first time and just loved it. The ice cream was so yummy and lots of toppings to choose from. I also tried the Vegan sorbet and that was good also. Now all the Employees that make the ice cream Rolls have very positive attitudes and so friendly. All the staff always have a smile on their face. Now the Managers treat their employees very good and make it a fun place to work. I have to say that Icicles is a place where all kids want to go to get ice cream no matter how cold the weather is. I can't wait to see how much busier it will be when the nice weather starts coming around. read more

$8.25 a cup is a steep price for bland ice cream, the wait, can be long, there's no place to sit. I got the rock n roll and there wasn't anything rocking about it. The experience is cool, they make the ice cream into rolls, not sure what's the point, the employees are friendly, that's why I'm giving it 3 stars. I was very disappointed in the service here. I hadn't been yet and my kids wanted to go. We walked in and there was luckily only one person in front of us. We waited for 15 minutes before anyone came to the register to take our order. I would've left if my kids weren't so excited. I figured since it took so long to take our order it would only be a few minutes until we were helped by the ice cream maker. That took another 10 minutes. It's a complicated process to make this stuff and so a family of 4 takes forever if they add toppings or modify in anyway. The part I don't understand is there were about 12 people working, so plenty of staff but it seemed like they weren't organized and no one was in charge. The ice cream just isn't good enough to spend a half hour waiting for it. Plus, there's nowhere to sit and it's really crowded. I think this is one of those places that you go to so you can take some pictures and post them on IInstagram. My ice cream had very little flavor which surprised me! I ordered a special and it consisted of peanut butter, banana, chocolate and graham crackers. Oddly enough I could not taste the peanut butter or banana in my ice cream. Overall I feel this place is defiantly overpriced although I did see people splitting an order. I would prefer to add my toppings myself. I asked for strawberries and cheesecake pieces- I got 3 pieces of a sliced strawberry which most likely wasn't even 1/2 a strawberry. My mother ordered the Ferrari, my brother the Berry Squad, and I got It's a Rasp and all three flavors were creamy, delicious, and had just the right amount of sweetness. The service was great and the employees were polite and welcoming. The only drawback is the price, which is a little more than $8 per ice cream, but it makes sense when you factor in the high quality and pleasant experience so we'll definitely be coming back! read more
