This is a little gem of a store with authentic Mexican flavors. Flan - the best I've ever had 5. I tried it for the 1st time a month ago and had been back at least thrice to get the flan and share it with my friends . Tres leches cake with chocolate topping-5 light and flavorful. All of the breakfast burritos taste horrible. Forgive me if it's TMI .... First bite was not good second and third bite I actually spit into a napkin. Then threw the rest of the burrito away. Super greasy all the burritos leaked tons of oil in the to go bag. They had no flavor. The salsa was not good either . the potatoes were way too mushy. The chorizo tased so cheap & bland. Del Sol Bakery is decent but not worth the headache. Flip a coin they might be open at 5:00 maybe 6:00 the person that opens hardly makes it at 5:00. We normally buy our cake from here and this time we were so disappointed. We wanted a custom picture printed on the cake and they assured us it would cover the whole cake. If you look at the image it did not cover the whole cake and it's off centered. It looks like they just added black candy and an off centered border just to cover empty space. This is not what we had asked for, nor the color. We complained and they said they couldn't do anything about it. Horrible customer service. The cake was super dry for being tres leches. My boys love a visit to Del Sol for their fresh pastries. I enjoy a visit for some champurrado and food. I can recommend their birria and tortas. Bought a tres leches cake for a birthday, spent around almost 50 dollars and it was horrible. It was one of the most disgusting cakes I have ever had. It was dry and had an awful taste as if it were old. I have bought the single slices before, and they were good, but I'm not too sure what happened this time. Super disappointed. I'll start off by saying I've order cakes from them in the past and they have always been spot on. This time I placed an order for a chocolate cake with chocolate frosting with "happy birthday Caesar " on it. Now there was a little big of a language barrier as my Spanish isn't that well. This place out ranks any of the SJ popular panaderias spots you knew about that were once good during your childhood especially those in east San Jose on & off King Road. This place is a hidden gem! The conchas here are truly the best and of course so many others. Their bread lasts fresh several days vs many other locations that dry out or harden after the first day. This is our go to spot and even our family/friends from SJ come to Gilroy just for their bread. They have all sorts of food too and cakes. My new favorite place to stop in for Mexican pastries and to go food. A friend of mine recommended this bakery and I'm glad she did. My first stop in I tried the beef birria and my husband the carne asada torta. Since then we've been consistently ordering burritos, tacos, tortas and the birria. We tried their pork tamales however they use some type of herb or spice that I'm not fond of and doesn't have much meat in them. I'll stick to my vendor in Safeway's lot for that. read more

I would never come back to this Bakery ever again in my life, not even if it's one of the only ones left in Gilroy, I rather drive 30 minutes to the Pink Elephant Bakery in East San Jose than support this unprofessional place. My wife and I have always ordered cakes from here, but lately the last few haven't met our expectations at all. Today, was the worst experience with my son's cake. My wife ordered it ahead of time as usual and she was promised it was going to be ready at 2pm sharp. I showed up at 2:10PM one of the female employees at the bakery checked up on it and told me the baker would come out and talk to me. He then approached me and asked me if I could provide him with a picture of the design of my son's cake because he wasn't finished with it yet and he needed it to complete it. Please note that all this information was provided to the bakery prior to the cake's order. I called my wife and she sent me the picture so I can show this half-wit baker how to do his job. Then he told me go ahead and wait around it would only take me 5 minutes to finish your son's cake. I waited 5 minutes soon it turned into 10, then 20, 30 minutes. Finally I asked one of the females employees who was bringing trays of sweet bread to the racks If she could please check on it and she replied rudely "I have nothing to do with it, ask the baker". Then, I asked the first female employee who originally helped me if she could please check on it as I had been waiting for almost 45 minutes and no cake still. She then went in the back to talk to the baker and came out and told me it will be ready in just a few minutes. By then, it was almost 3pm. Finally, she came out with my son's cake and it was NOT even close to the design my wife and I asked, ordered and payed for $50 in advance. This cake was NOT worth the money at all and I received nothing but unprofessional service, bad attitude and the worst experience ever. Do NOT waste your time and money here, you're much better off going to the bakery at Safeway or Mi Pueblo, as they always treat you with respect and they're super professional, efficient and less expensive than this terrible place. read more

Ok so... this is the first time my mom and I ordered masa from this place. As she was starting to add some ingredients to it, she started to find some leaves in the Mossa. She called this place up and asked if they used spices and the Mossa, they said no they didn't. My mom proceeded to tell her that she found leaves in the Maza and the girl on the other end of the phone sounded confused. She told us to bring in the Mossa and they will start making some fresh Mossa for us. When we get to this place, we proceeded to explain the girl behind the counter what had happened and it looked like some garbage in the bag, referring to the leaves and a couple of stem lookin things. The girl got so offended that she started to lecture how they don't use garbage to cook with! She was very argumentative, annoying, and just didn't want to understand our side. After all that, they explained that is was from some chicken broth that could have gotten in there. Then they said that they were not making anymore masa for the day.
