I recently bought a wrap somewhere that used lavash, so when I saw a $2.99 package of whole wheat lavash at Dean's Produce in downtown San Mateo, I decided to try it at home.
Wow, it was so good. This stone ground Whole Wheat Lavash by Wheat Valley Bakery lasted 2 weeks in the frig. I think the package had 6 sheets, but they were so large (about 12"x17"), I cut them in half to make my quesadilla. A whole slice has 13g of carbs, no fat, 95 mg of salt, 2 g protein, so fairly healthy and in my opinion, much healthier than a tortilla.
I couldn't find a place more local to me to buy this stuff. The website on the package doesn't work (wheatvalleybakery.com and wheatvalley.com). So that's why I'm posting this review. I'm hoping someone can tell me where else I can buy this lovely lavash closer to the Palo Alto area.
Cheers everyone! read more
