Quality of fish is always great, best mixed tempura !!! Service was great, our servers name was Allen! Love coming here with my family. Tempura didn't make the picture because it was too yummy!

The sushi is bomb. Lots of options, also loved the bento box. Everything is tasty. Chefs choice sushi lunch was what i went with. I also got a yellowtail roll. This place is a hidden gem.

I have been coming to Ichima for the past 15 years and think the overall quality of their food is top notch. Their prices are affordable and they have something for everyone. If you are not into fish they have curry, udon and teriyaki. They provide complimentary miso soup for all guests. Today I ordered the pork katsu curry, spicy tuna crispy rice, hanabi sashimi, shrimp tempura roll, ichima wrap and chirashi bowl. All the dishes were presented elegantly and our server checked in on us frequently. Pork katsu curry: Served on a big plate you get 2 scoops of rice, 2 big pieces of pork katsu and a sea of curry. The katsu was crispy, meaty and not oily. The curry was mild and I was overall surprised at how much meat the dish came with. For about $20 this is enough to feed 2 people. Spicy tuna crispy rice: This order came with 4 pieces. The crispy rice was stacked with a mound of spicy tuna and avocado. It was a perfect starter that my friend and I enjoyed. The rice was the perfect amount of crispiness as other places tend to make it too crispy and it'll stick to your teeth. Hanabi sashimi: For $53 you get 15 pieces of premium assorted sashimi that features salmon, fatty toro, amber jack, yellowtail, snapper and octopus. All the pieces of fish I had were glistening and melted in my mouth. They were thick cut and the presentation was IG worthy. Shrimp tempura roll: The shrimp tempura roll had a giant fried shrimp in the middle. The crispy tempura flakes were generous and soaked up all the eel sauce. Ichima wrap: If you want an option that has no rice then the Ichima wrap is the way to go. It is wrapped in soy paper and you get a mouth full of spicy tuna, spicy crab, shrimp tempura and gobo. It has a very rich taste and carb friendly. Chirashi bowl: If you come for lunch their chirashi bowl is only $20. There is about 12 pieces of fish on top smothering the whole bowl. The sushi rice was warm and lightly acidic from the sushi rice vinegar. I enjoyed the variety of fish that it came with and will be coming back to lunch more often.

Sushi date in Pasadena but make it elevated Pulled up to Ichima and let's just say...this was NOT your average sushi run. Started strong with the Spicy Tuna on Crispy Rice (perfect crunch) and Albacore Crispy Onion--light, flavorful, and gone in seconds. The Toro Toast? Insane. Buttery, rich, melt-in-your-mouth energy. Had to get the Spicy Garlic Edamame for a little kick, then went all in with the Baked Crab Hand Roll and Crunch Roll (no regrets). And of course...we kept it classic with sushi: Bluefin Tuna, Yellowtail, Red Snapper, Scallop, and Shrimp--fresh, clean, and chef's kiss every bite. Lowkey date night vibes, highkey obsessed.

Ichima Sushi in Pasadena has been a Japanese staple restaurant for years. From their tasty bento boxes to their chef special nigiri. Everything is fresh and tasty. Service is always amazing here. The star of my meal was the uni scramble toast which was so rich, creamy and buttery melt in your mouth. I also love the warm and inviting atmosphere.

I was passing through East Pasadena and looking for a good sushi spot, so I decided to try this place since it seemed pretty popular. The atmosphere was quiet, clean, and very comfortable, which made the whole experiencefeel really relaxing. Instead of doing Lunch set we ordered a few sushi items separately, and everything tasted fresh. The sushi rice was especially good and nicely seasoned. The tables were also spacious, so I think it would be a great spot for small gatherings or family dinners. Staffs are also friendly(Thank you, Grand!) I also enjoyed the uni egg toast, but I'd probably come back for the sushi again next time.

Ichima - such a warm, cozy, inviting sushi restaurant. There are a lot of items on their menu, a bit of something for everyone. We came as a party of 2 and waited about 15 mins on a Friday night. Parking wasn't an issue as it's located in a shopping plaza. We ordered: Otoro & Unagi Sushi - Tasted super fresh and so good BSCR Roll - Such a filling roll, but really good too. 24 K gold - Sushi w/ Caviar - This was a super fancy roll, however I felt like the taste was very underwhelming. Would not order again Overall, it was a good first time and I would definitely come back. Enjoy!

I haven't dined in yet, though on my list to do just because the positives vibes this amazing restaurant has. As for food, 10 of 10 recommend. Orders are always correct. We're ordering different things all the time and I've yet to dislike a single thing. The sushi is soooooooo yummy. For door dash, they sort the food by the group order. My daughter's name is Lotus and they always draw a flower on the top. It's little details like this that tell me the people preparing this food care about it and the customers they serve. Stumbled in on a Wednesday in the early evening, and had plenty of open seating to choose from…read more Immediately, I was cheerfully greeted and seated by one the servers, and then given two menus--a traditional folding menu with a padded backing I can really only describe as "satisfyingly textured," and a beautiful 3x8 wooden slab engraved with a QR code for the picture menu. I had planned to be phone-free for the hour, but curiosity bested me and I whipped out my phone for a scan. The bulgogi with rice and miso called to me, strangely, considering the heat outside. The atmosphere at this slow hour was so nice I almost wished it was raining. A few Clairo and The Marías songs later (at the perfect volume--audible, but still low enough to have a quiet chat) my miso soup arrived. Now, it's been a good few years since I've had miso soup, and I've never really been crazy about it, but this... this was some damn good soup. Liquid umami. Then the bulgogi and rice came. This is the best bulgogi I've ever had. So tender. Quite literally melted in my mouth. Punches of savory juice, tender fatty bits, golden brown perfectly caramelized onions, and a sweetness to bring it all together. Every bite was perfect. It washed over me and my shoulders and spine practically uncoiled themselves. I want to try more from the menu but... I'm... I'm going to need this again. Like tomorrow. I should say, especially for the price, this is a lot o' grub. A perfect filling portion, especially with the rice and soup. I had a smoothie a couple hours earlier so I really should've asked for a to-go box 80% of the way through... but I was just having too much fun stuffing my face to stop. To recap--lovely service, great music, and food to live for. And a restroom. It's not public, but they do have a restroom. Thank god for that restroom. I was hungry, yes, but more than anything I really needed that restroom.

We ordered multiple nigiris, rolls, and appetizers for our table. The servers and staff seemed to not communicate with each other, leading to slow and sloppy service. The nigiris came out much later than the rolls and the bowls, to the point where half of our party was done eating before the first nigiri plate came out. In fact, the service was so slow that the servers started to clear our plates while we were waiting for them to bring out our food The servers were awkwardly clashing plates at our table and being difficult about refilling the water and tea. After dropping $800+ as a table, we were waiting on one last nigiri (Yellowtail Belly) to come out. We asked our waiter to check on it for us, and he came back to us saying it should have been on the plate that had the other Yellowtail Nigiri on it. The reason why we brought this up in the first place is because the two didn't come out together. He then brings another waitress who tells us it should have come out already, and then another who tells us completely different information (i.e. it came out with different fish). Overall an unpleasant experience. Would not be back again nor would I recommend this place to anyone, especially since they made such a big deal out of $10 nigiri on a $800 bill.

He made us feel genuinely welcomed, anticipated everything we needed, and turned our daughter's first caviar experience into such a special memory. She especially loved the dramatic cold fog rising from the ice, and needless to say, she is now officially in love with caviar! We ordered the: * 50g caviar service (ten out of ten, no notes) * shishito peppers (the sauce is out of this world) * uni pasta (the heavy cream is divine) * Wagyu strip loin steak (melts in your mouth) * baked lobster roll signature roll (pure decadence) * blue crab and salmon signature sashimi (rich, silky, and incredibly fresh) * albacore crispy onion signature sashimi (fireworks in every bite) * garlic albacore signature roll (so good, we forgot to talk) Every single dish was outstanding. We honestly couldn't choose a favorite or even rank them. The flavors were so fresh, balanced, and beautifully executed that we didn't even reach for the soy sauce. Before we left, we also had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Tigran. He took our family photo, personally walked us out, and made us feel incredibly special. That level of hospitality stayed with us just as much as the food. The restaurant itself is gorgeous, chic, stylish, and perfect for a special occasion, while still feeling warm and inviting. I didn't expect the soba noodles to be in a sauce with a string sesame oil consistency and taste. It was refreshing yet a bit heavier as a result. I also love the variety of fish provided with it. Overall (5/5): Disclaimer - we came here late April. But this is a gem in Pasadena that we wished we visited sooner! The lunch deals have very generous portions for the price and we were super stuffed after. We also were quite impressed with the execution of the tsukemono which looked like canned vegetables mixed with mushrooms that were pickled together for an unexpectedly rich flavor.
