However, I also believe in showing understanding and giving credit where it's due. I work in customer experience myself, so I understand how challenging it can be to deliver great service when you're short-staffed and trying to manage multiple responsibilities at once. I've faced similar situations myself, and I know how difficult it can be to keep everything running smoothly. I spoke with the manager, who was apologetic and offered us a discount. What I appreciated most was that, toward the end of our visit, the employee personally came over to apologize and take responsibility for what happened. I want to emphasize that I never specifically complained about him personally, so I appreciated him taking the initiative to acknowledge the situation and apologize on his own. Although the experience could have been better, I respect that the manager and employee acknowledged the issue and made an effort to address it. Mistakes happen, and while certain things should never be overlooked, I believe how a team responds to a difficult situation matters just as much. I hope the restaurant gets the support it needs, and I wish the team the best moving forward. I'm sharing this review not to discourage anyone from visiting, but in the hope that things improve. As a long time customer (10+ years), I must say the GoGo Sushi of the past is now dead. The quantity and quality of ingredients in rolls has MASSIVELY declined since new ownership took over. We always used to order the baked scallop roll for a generous pile of scallops, as the name implies. The baked "scallop" roll is now two dollops of mayo and imitation crab with three TINY scallops on top of each, next to some rolls packed with more imitation crab and barely noticeable slivers of avocado. I'm pretty sure it was 95% imitation crab by weight, SO MUCH IMITATION CRAB!!! The caterpillar roll used to have eel and avocado in alternating strips on top of the rolls, with more eel and avocado inside. It now only has pathetically small half-slices of avocado on top, with the smallest slice of unagi I have ever seen tucked inside. It's very clear that new ownership is now trying to cut costs as much as possible by minimizing higher quality ingredients and maximizing cheaper substitutes like imitation crab. It's sad to see my neighborhood favorite sushi roll place fall to such lows. After a decade of patronage, I will not be coming back! read more

The spicy edamame was good not to spicy so don't be afraid to order it! They have a lot of drink options and they have a pretty bar. This was our Valentine dinner (3rd year in a row) and it was excellent. We started with the Broiled Mussels. This has been one of our favorites for many years and we were a little surprised that they had changed it up.....and made them even better. The Mussels are huge, very tender and now topped with Scallops and Roe. Wow! Much, much better! I am a huge Unagi fan and this was incredible! I really wanted to support a local establishment, but tonight was the absolute last straw. We ordered over $100 in takeout, and when it arrived, not only were we missing part of our order, the bags were practically stripped of basic necessities: no chopsticks, no ginger, no wasabi, and a meager four packets of soy sauce for a massive order. When I called to bring it to their attention, there was zero accountability or effort to fix it. The woman on the phone simply offered a indifferent, "Sorry, I think we were busy?!" Being busy isn't an excuse to completely skip basic order checks, especially when a customer spends over $100. The total lack of care for loyal neighborhood patrons is clear. Something about all-you-can-eat but that seemed vague. My food came out a good 15 minutes before his. No ginger & wasabi served with the sushi until I asked. The last ownership had a certain personable charm to the place and they remembered their customers. Inside is a bit more decorative, lots of blinking light ropes. I do like blinkies. The music is fine as well. Again, nothing negative on the new ownership, I'm just thrown off a bit by the change. I guess in all fairness a new ownership deserves a chance. On first impression though, I'm a bit disappointed as for years when coming here I would get a lobster roll, which is no longer available. I defaulted to bento boxes of all things, which I have never ordered something like that. The menu was mostly text but I can read. Prior establishments menu was highly visual. It's also now canned soft drinks and a glass of ice, budget, where prior was from fountain and there were refills. I'm sure the cost and hassle of soda fountain was likely why the change. The food was ok but I didn't finish it. The fish was ok but a little dry, the dumplings were deep fried, I'm on the fence with regard to their tempura shrimp, salad was good. Not forced to eat here by any means but I feel I had to settle for something rather than being able to order a favorite. Such is life. There is nothing at all wrong with the restaurant, I'm just unclear if I would return here over other sushi places in Pasadena. I normally went out of my way for Go Go Sushi. But I enjoyed my AYCE experience and the food so much that I just had to write a review. Besides being very reasonably priced, the food was excellent and tasty from the Nigiri to the specialty rolls. Even the Musubi and the appetizers with the takoyaki was just what I needed. I definitely plan to go back but next time I'll be bringing family and friends. Could not recommend this place more.
