I ordered a wood fired filet because I wanted to taste it. For $90 I most certainly expected more. Nothing special taste wise and the size was laughable as well. $23 per drink and a side (6 spears!) of asparagus for another $20. A $3 per drink upcharge because of the brand of alcohol I chose in addition to a 3% "kitchen fee". Way way way over priced. I was still hungry when I got home. What a shame. As a patron of the former location I had a lot of high hopes and was nothing but let down. Nearly two hours for two pieces of fish no appetizer? $10 for bread even after waiting a ridiculously long time for 2 pieces of fish?...oh and then the 3% "kitchen fee" factored into every item ordered. New location is beautiful but overall our experience was a complete let down. The quality of the ingredients of each course was exceptional. The Tuna carpaccio tasted like it came out of the ocean that morning. my guest who lives in Chestnut Hill and often dines in Boston considered it one of the best he has ever had. same for the halibut which was cooked to perfection. Completely random find by just looking at restaurants close to me at the time and WOW! Small location in downtown but the staff and the food made it feel like a Michelin star restaurant in downtown Boston. Homemade pastas, locally sourced ingredients, extensive wine list and creative cocktails. Checked all the boxes and those I didn't expect, Fig salad was one of the best I've had with a perfectly balanced dressing. The octopus was cooked perfectly and we shared entrees and even went for desert. Try the homemade gelatos and the toasted marshmallow around the serving bowl be sure to scoop it all! Had to cancel our reservation for two people due to Covid. Called the restaurant that day, several hours before reservation, they said no problem and to cancel through Resy. Cancelled through Resy online and was charged $50. Emailed restaurant 2x with details, no response from iPazzi. We called iPazzi, got run around and sent back to Resy, Resy said they cannot charge our card; that can only be done through the reservation. Called iPazzi back, got sent from gentleman at front desk to a woman who confirmed they charged and nothing they will do about it. She was cold, dismissive, rude and lacked general service skills. During this whole process no one at iPazzi showed any empathy on the illness. We have previously eaten at the new location, in addition to the older one. May have gone back, but they have lost our business due to this poor experience. It seemed they would have preferred we would have just gone and risked infecting staff and customers. read more

We have been going to Ipazzi for about 4 years now and have consistently had amazing meals and Boston/ New York quality service. The menu and pricing reflects the quality of the food being served . Their website links up the sourcing so you can literally see what they are paying for the steaks for example. The pasta is homemade and it shows . It's delicious ! They are reservation only at the new location which may annoy some people who are not aware . The owners have shared with us , and many others, the intention is to offer a lengthy dining experience similar to being in Europe. I personally love not being rushed out . There is a new and tacky trend of fast table turnover and table time limits from many restaurants . You will not be asked to pay your bill or have your server come and abruptly clear your table here. Refreshing if you ask me . In a world of cheap food and rushed service , Ipazzi is a hidden Gem . Any complaints are likely from people who dine at chain restaurants and don't know any better. read more

The food was good but overpriced. The place is very noisy, like a college cafeteria. The night we were there it took an hour to get our meal. We were told the kitchen screwed up. We had to chase our waitress down when she didn't bring a bottle of wine we ordered. That didn't stop them from adding a mandatory 3% to the bill for "the kitchen." Our entire party was disappointed in our experience. We waited over 2.5 hours for our food. No one came to check on us or see what they could do or ask what we needed after taking our order. When we were ready to walk out they said the food would be out in 5 minutes, it wasn't and when it arrived it was cold. We had a party of 6 and were told the food took so long because we didn't order our meals when we ordered the appetizers but our server never told us this or shared it would create a lengthy delay. After waiting almost 1.5 hours after ordering our entrees someone in our party was approached and told they had run out of their entree and then the same thing happened to another person in our party 30 min later. We asked to speak to the owner to share how disappointed we were but there was no accountability on their side. The customer service is severely lacking. They didn't do anything to try to improve our experience. It's a shame, this was a neighborhood gem before they expanded. As much as we want to support local business no one in our party will return after our experience. The staff was AWESOME, and the restaurant was quaint, cozy and romantic. The dish I ordered on the other hand (Rabbit) was horrible and I could only eat two forkfuls. As soon as it was put on the table, the aroma made me a bit nauseous. My friend had a bad reaction after she tasted it that lasted until the next morning. No spaghetti in an Italian restaurant (?). Fabulous experience! The new space is over the top spectacular. Service was top notch! The Caesar salad to start was terrific. I had the Fettuccine with truffles and the best I ever had. The pasta is made in house and it was cooked perfectly. My dinner partner had the Milk Fed Veal Chop and he hasn't stopped talking about it. Overall we are very lucky to have such a great restaurant. Asked the waitress what she would recommend on the menu her response "I have never dined here". Not helpful! We had a 5:15 reservation restaurant was not that packed they kept trying to clear our plates before we were done, waitress never came over to ask how our food was, when she did come over with the check she told us we had to vacate the table by 7:15. Although the ambience is very nice did not feel welcome while we were there, was very obvious that they cater to their regulars and the rest of the clientele is not treated with the same respect. was so excited to eat here after looking at other reviews. here is what I found: had reservation at bar, that was fine. less than 10 total at bar 1 bartender for entire restaurant. we are very patient but bar service was slow and dull. when they ask still or sparkling, note there is a cost for the still water, we should have drank tap. my 54$ filet was overcooked. i did not finished, she took to wrap for take home and never brought it back. other dinners - fish, veal and salmon just underwhelming. a party who sat at bar after us received dinner before us, very strange with no explanation of delay from bartender. would not recommend or return. also way overpriced for Danvers, if I want to pay that much there are much better choices in Boston. read more

I moved to Danvers a year ago and just heard about Ipazzi. I had the best seafood pasta with clams and their delicious featured Cabernet. It was the most delicious meal I've had in a long time. We finally made it over to I Pazzi, which has taken over the location where Lucciano's used to be. We loved Lucciano's and were saddened when we found out it closed, but I'm very pleased to report that I Pazzi is every bit as good, if not even better. I Pazzi is upscale Italian Mediterranean dining, so it's not cheap and you won't get mammoth portions as you would at a Cheesecake Factory, just to be clear. If you're the kind of person that likes to go out to eat with the expectation of bringing home two meals worth of leftovers, this place will not be for you. After we were seated, our waitress brought out some warm bread and then prepared for each of us table side individual servings of olive oil, balsamic vinegar, grated Parmesan cheese, and crushed red pepper for dipping the bread. That was a nice touch and it was very, very good. I try to refrain from eating the bread that is served, but I had a difficult time restraining myself. Since we devoured the bread, we passed on the appetizers and went straight for entrees. I ordered a Ciopinno seafood soup to go with my entree of Ahi Tuna Alla Mostarda (Ahi Tuna steak sliced over a bed of arugula lettuce and topped with a reduction of tarragon, shallots, Dijon mustard, and white wine sauce). The sushi-grade tuna was seared and served rare (my request, but I'm guessing it would have been served that way anyway, but I didn't want to take any chances). The Ciopinno had shrimp, clams, mussels, and calamari in a flavorful tomato based broth. I loved both. They were perfectly seasoned, letting the flavors of the fresh ingredients shine. The food was not super salty as you'd get at the chain restaurants. (Thank goodness.) My wife and my son both ordered specials not on the regular menu, with the wife getting a Chilean Sea Bass dish and the son getting a Grilled Rack of Lamb Chop dish. The lamb chops were cooked perfectly medium-rare as requested, served with asparagus and mashed potatoes. I don't remember exactly what sauce was served with the lamb, but it matched really well with the lamb. The Chilean Sea Bass was served with a medley of clams, mussels, shrimp, and asparagus. After getting a little taste of each of their dishes, I definitely would order those in the future. We were stuffed come time for dessert, but next time we'll have to make a more conscious effort to hold back on the bread to leave some room. The manager told us that all the desserts are handmade, including chocolate mousse, flan, and tiramisu. We desperately wanted to try something but we were genuinely too full. We were very pleased with our first visit to I Pazzi and are looking forward to a return visit. My mourning period over losing Lucciano's is now officially over. read more

My father is a big fan of this place, so he took me here during a visit. Overall, the food is fantastic. The eggplant tower appetizer was delicious, and I adored the scallop dish I got. Their freshly made pasta is simply fantastic. I am docking a star because the service was very slow, and at times, very rude. One of the waitresses grabbed a dish out of our hands while we were talking, and when we tried to make conversation when she returned, it was clear she was just looking over our heads and not interested. Also, PASS on the caprese salad. I have had many a caprese salad and this one was sub par. read more

Went to IPazzi for a business dinner meeting tonight and cannot say enough wonderful things about this place. It is about the 4th or 5th time I have been here and I always have a great experience. The service was perfect and the food delicious. I started with the fig appetizer and it was fantastic. I am not usually a big fan of figs but these were done to perfection. For the main course, I had the fettuccine with shrimp. The shrimp were good sized and cooked perfectly. The sauce was delicious and the pasta was cooked just as pasta should be. For desert, which I usually skip, I had the raspberry cheesecake sorbet. I was not sure what to expect from a sorbet that was raspberry & cheesecake flavored and was surprised to find it great. I came here due to some solid reviews on Yelp and was pleasantly surprised by how much of a 5-star experience it was. Upon walking in, I noticed that the place boasted a romantic and upscale ambiance. I was greeted immediately and asked if I wanted them to take my coat. Also, while there was no one sitting down in the seated area at the moment, the bar area was packed. They didn't hesitate to make sure that they could find another bar stool and be able to seat me. While their menu was rather small, I quickly realized that each item on the menu was impeccable and therefore, I valued quality over quantity. I had a basil-infused vodka drink which was delicious and had a mussels appetizer which was large enough to be a meal. The mussels were perfect. I happened to befriend those around me (my friend couldn't go last minute, so I guess I make friends easily if I need to?) and managed to get a taste of their gelato (incredible) and a special dish they had which was apparently wild boar? Who would have thought I would ever try wild boar....especially while in Danvers. The wild boar was with a pasta and was absolutely delicious. All-in-all - the service, the bartender, the food, the drinks and all were Boston-quality. I've been talking about this place with friends and telling them we need to go and I hope to go within the next week. I look forward to my next experience at I Pazzi. read more

The ability for I Pazzi to continue to turn out the highest caliber dinners as a take home option is incredible! They make us look like top notch hosts! We miss sitting in their gracious dining room, but they are excelling at the take home experience. Definitely the BEST take out option anywhere. We often do "surf & turf" trying any of the delicious meat dishes, swordfish was perfect as the surf accompaniment but it's always hard to choose because the seabass is a favorite too, and ALL the pastas scrumptious! For dessert we have been known to request multiple boxes of gelato flavors! This last visit we also bought one of the take home Bolognese options so that cooking was easy the next night, too! It was packed with delicious meat and a sublime spice. The I Pazzi family deserves the highest kudos for being able to create an awesome experience within all the pandemic limitations! read more
