For sushi in Fresno, this is the place to go. The rolls are plentiful (so are mine after eating here so much *L*) and they have page after page of items to choose from. Most menus are front and back - their's is a book. I don't do the sashimi, but go frequently with a friend who does and she digs it. The only reason this place got 4 stars was because the wait staff is slow to greet people sometimes and we've had to wait a really long time to get drink re-fills before. The parking lot isn't very big either. If you have your lazy moments, as most of us do, they'll do take-out and have it ready in about 15-20 minutes. Other than that, this place is great. Visiting my family over the Holiday and we came into I Love Sushi like we have many times over the years. We got seated right away (there were 4 of us) and nobody came to our table again for over 20 minutes. The service was so poor they never even came, we all just walked out and went to Japanese Kitchen down the road instead. This is mine and my husband's go to sushi place. He always orders the James Dean roll and I always order the 911 roll and I get it fried because I do not like raw fish. The 911 roll is the perfect name because they top it off with chilies that are mixed from all over the world. Eat it If you dare, but it is very spicy. I can handle spicy, but I've since learned to ask for the 911 sauce on the side and also to take heartburn medicine and pepto before I consume it. My friends and I recently went to celebrate one of our friends' birthday as well as a milestone since her son turned thirteen that day. My best friend took me here for lunch hour and boy was I surprised. The place was busy, but the wait was minimal and the service and the our host were wonderful. The best part was the lunch hour special, the salad was so delicious, the soup was so tasty, and the sushi roll, I usually order #67 or #69, with the the extra spicy and sweet sauce on top. Even the dinner specials are affordable for a family of four, and everyone in there is always so bubbly. My most recent experience with them was when I was sick and had injured my foot. I placed my order and they had no objection to bringing the food out to the car, taking my debit card, and bringing it back. It was cold, and the hostess could have been rude, but she was totally the opposite. They showed that they cared and that their customers are important. WORST SERVICE / MANAGER I'VE EVER ENCOUNTERED. It's a shame because the food is good, but the employees are awful. We used to eat here all the time, but after coming here and ordering $110 worth of food, we got mochi for dessert. The server brought out the two that we ordered and one was so freezer burnt that it wouldn't thaw out after 15 minutes of it sitting there, so I asked for another one in place of the one that was freezer burnt and the server had to ask the manager. The manger stared at us from across the restaurant and came over and said no. I then asked for my money back ($1.50) and he said no and walked away. We will never eat here again. read more

I am so incredibly disappointed in this restaurant. It is usually one of our favorite sushi restaurants, but not after today. I called in a $50 to go order, and ordered very clearly and precisely. My husband picked up the order after work and brought it home. We then discovered that a roll was added to our order that neither of us would eat, and they completely screwed up another roll that I asked to be made a certain way. When I called to speak to the manager, he asked me to drive 45 minutes back to the restaurant so he could correct the order, and then when I told him no, he said there was nothing else he could do. No apologies, nothing. The very worst part is that my husband ordered a sake while he waited and TIPPED them!! read more

DO NOT COME HERE. What a shame. We have been consistently coming to this place for years (and spending a lot and tipping 20%) - I'll start by saying the food is wonderful. Today we came and the service started out poorly but our server was attentive, and got us the things we needed in a timely manner. Our server mentioned "I'll have to ask my manager about that" about 2 questions we asked during our lunch. At the end, we ordered mocchi for dessert, which the server could not refer the price, but when we received it it was freezer burnt. We told our server who again..... had to ask her manager about what to do. We waited 20 minutes, watched all the staff in the restaurant talk about us, only for the manager to come over and let us know that that is how the mocchi is served. We asked for our money back because it was not edible (1 DOLLAR AND 50 CENTS BY THE WAY HAHA) and he refused. We had already closed out, which the server rushed on us, and then asked for our change back that we had already told the server was for her. We made sure the manager was aware that the money he was retrieving back for us was SUPPOSED to be the servers tip. He dismissed us, said "that's fine" before we could even finish speaking. POOR management, awful customer service. It is sad that those servers are working under such terrible management, our server was terrified to do anything wrong. We will NOT be returning. read more

One of our favorite sushi places to go in Fresno. Huge selection of rolls on the menu. We ordered two rolls, edemame, and vegetable tempura. The size of the rolls are perfect. Empty restaurant but my pregnant wife and our daughter had to wait a half hour to be seated and they sat us in a crowd despite the other half of the restaurant being wide open. I always order sushi from here, my favorite spot. They answered the phone by just saying hello not asking what I was calling for and left me on hold for a long time, has never happened before. We have recently stopped going because we had horrible service and the food was not what we were used to. We chose to give the benefit of the doubt and thought maybe it was because of the many stresses Covid has brought the industry. We went into today and will never go back. The service was horrible, we were out in a corner, brought the wrong drinks and ignored for 20 minutes. I even went to the front to ask for help and our server still avoided us. Then after a long time of waiting she took our order. Then we waited..... she finally brought our entrees and I asked about our appetizers and she rudely said she would go check. I was so confused why we did not get our appetizers first and even when she brought our appetizers my side salad was not there. So, you call in a togo order so you don't have to wait as long right? This was not the case here!!! They give you an estimate time of when it should be ready. My time was 10-15 mins. I show up 20 mins after my phone order. Thinking it should be ready. They call back to say I'm there to pick up my order. 10 mins go by. I am waiting patiently. Manager sees I'm still waiting and asked if I'm waiting on a togo order. I said yes. He goes and checks on the order. Says they are working on the order. Finally my TOGO ORDER!! comes after another 8 mins! Why would I want to wait almost 40 mins for my TOGO order? Specially if I just spend $68 at your establishment. I sure don't, nobody does! 1.
