    Cobb salad
    Julianne G.

Deli in the Vons plaza near Batter Up at Fowler and Herndon area. Friendly service. They have chowder bowls, soup of the day, salads and sandwiches made with yummy crisp hot sourdough rolls. My husband ordered the dry salami and turkey sandwich with clam chowder, and I got the Cobb salad. He said his sandwich was great with the roll being the best sourdough roll in the area for him. I ordered the Cobb salad, and it had plenty of chicken, blue cheese, avocado, bacon and egg. Unfortunately, I didn't like either of the dressings I picked, the jalapeño ranch or the Greek. I would try either an Italian or just oil and vinegar if I go again. I ordered a large salad but couldn't finish it. I would get the small if I go again. The clam chowder was fresh and you could tell it wasn't just out of a can. Better yet, I will try a sandwich next time since my husband raved about his. You also get warm bread with your salad order. My husband also tried a cookie, which was very good as well. Inside was clean and modern looking . Definitely will be back to try a sandwich.

I'm so glad this deli/restaurant came into Clovis!! I've been here numerous times and every time my food is hot, tasty and perfect portions. Today I got the spring special Greek grilled chicken sandwich, I added on the soup & drink to make it a meal! Of course I got clam chowder- amazing as always!! I usually get the garlic turkey pesto sandwich, I've had the French dip as well- ALL great options. The customer service is so good, friendly and professional!! I absolutely love how this restaurant is decorated, it is so stylish, the artwork is really cool. I really like the wood and metal accents. Today I ate outside on the patio, it's nice they have a couple tables on the patio to enjoy great weather & temps. I highly recommend this place, everything is so fresh, the bread is freshly made and perfectly crispy, dunk it into the soup... Mmmmmm

I've been trying to find a really good pastrami sandwich to replace my favorite from Gino's (which sadly closed). I think I finally found a close match!! The sandwich was so delicious. The meat was nice and lean. I will definitely be ordering from here again.

9/19/23 Getting lunch! Ordered via Yelp. Super easy! Veggie sandwich with turkey meat added. Added other ingredients like jalapeños. I went to pick it up. Very nice restaurant. Music playing! Clean and safe. Greeted and let worker know. Only waited a minute and it was ready! Lunchtime! Sandwich split. My half was really Great! Fresh veggies, bread and peppers with pepper jack added a nice spice! Really delicious! Fresh pickle half with it too! Mother said her half was Great and that it tasted really fresh! Good service and great sandwich! Highly recommended!

Came in for lunch and it was my first time there. I didn't get a chance to look at the menu before hand but the cashier was very helpful. I couldn't make up my mind, as usual, but he let me know which sandwich was most popular. Apparently it's the French dip! I love a good French dip. You can get different combos like with chips and a drink, Mac n cheese and a drink, salad and a drink or soup and a drink. I love soup so I was interested in that combo. Their daily soup is clam chowder and their Friday soup is chicken and poblano chile. He gave me a sample of the chicken and poblano and yes, I had to have a cup! It was so delicious. I ordered a 6 inch sub and with the soup and soda it was sort of pricey. Like $18 for a lunch combo! Next time I'll have a coupon haha! And I say next time because I'll be back for sure. The sandwich was so good and the bread was great! Crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside with a nice chew. I loved it! The restaurant was clean and the staff was careful to wear gloves when handling food. Everyone was friendly and my order was ready quick.

The sandwiches tasted good as any sandwich nothing special about their taste. the service was nice for a morning they had good energy in the place. Now the prices for the sizes of sandwiches are over priced.

Great tasting ramen!…read more My family and I made this place a pit-stop for dinner on a Sacramento to Los Angeles trip. Our original target was the Fresno location, but due to a GPS entry error, we ended up at their Clovis location! It was a little longer drive than usual, but still well-worth the drive. And besides, we were on a family long weekend break so who cares about distance... Our orders were quickly taken on the counter and we were off to find our table. A lot of places to choose from inside and outside seating was also available. And the place was nicely decorated and well-lit! Feels comfortable to dine inside! The menu was quite expansive. And you even have the choice of minor changes to the regular menu. I ordered an Oxtail Ramen...a first of this kind for me, so I just had to have it. And it passed with flying colors! Weird ingredient...but absolutely tasty! And at a really affordable price range! You just have to try our this place when you're in the area! You will love it!

The first time I tried the tonkotsu ramen as takeout and gave it 2 stars. The noodles were soggy from the start and the broth just didn't hit the depth of flavor I was expecting. It felt like something was missing. This time, I dined in and ordered both the spicy miso ramen and tonkotsu ramen, plus a side of chicken karaage. Eating onsite made a difference right away, the noodles held up and the overall taste of the ramen was significantly better. The spicy miso ramen was good, but I was honestly hoping for a stronger miso punch and a bit more heat. It leaned a little milder than expected, though still enjoyable. The tonkotsu this time was better balanced than my first visit. The chicken karaage was good as well. Crispy, light batter, juicy inside really solid fried chicken. I personally would've liked a squeeze of lemon and maybe some Japanese mayo on the side to elevate it even more, but that's just preference. Overall, I feel like this place redeemed itself on a second visit, especially dining in. I'll need to come back to try more of their specialty ramens.

Located in the Barnyard shopping center this Vietnamese restaurant is a little dated, but don't let the decor deter you. The food is in incredible! I ordered a large bowl with thin sliced meat balls along with spring rolls for the table. First off, I should've gotten a small bowl of pho, the large bowls here are massive. I had plenty of leftover for the next day and the day after! The broth was delicious with deep rich flavors and the noodles were slightly al dente, which I loved. I couldn't help myself and active point picked up my bowl and just started sipping the broth. My wife ordered the same thing as I, minus the meatballs and she too, could not get over how much flavor the broth had, almost like they had been slow cooking this for the past three days straight. The spring rolls were 100% handmade and the filling inside was delicious. We did bring our kids with us and we're definitely nervous because they are very picky eaters. They do offer a kids menu, but there isn't much to it. It's basically rice broth and your choice of meat. We ordered my 4-year-old daughter a small bowl of rice with broth and chicken; she loved this and kept asking for more! My son (7) went big and ordered pho with squid... he inhaled everything! Even asking if we could order more squid on the side to which we did and he ate that as well. This was huge win for mom and dad, now we can do pho to the family dining out rotation. This is a family own restaurant and the staff here is incredibly friendly and helpful. The reason for 3 stars: We have been here a few times, and were told by a server that seating was self-serve. We have practiced this each time coming in, but today after sitting at the only clean table(with some to be cleared off) a couple came over to the empty table and stared at us pretty weirdly before a server rushed over and told us to move because its for them. Not sure what happened before us coming in, but that energy was incredibly off putting. I hope we feel comfortable enough to come back.

You'll then have to wait to be seated at the register. I think this set-up is kind of awkward but hey, at least they have cute sidewalk seating. My memory is shot. I don't want to be handing out 5 stars so easily but I think they deserve it. The restaurant is very clean, and I love the little Asian lanterns they have, all different, above each table. Plenty of seating. When we got there (a little after 5), there was only one other table occupied... by the time we left (6:30), every table was nearly taken. Our waitress, as well as the other on the floor, were both very welcoming and friendly. They handled the service remarkably as a team. The fact that they were a packed house and still were very attentive with us, checking how we're doing, checking on our water refills... these are the little things I appreciate most (and, of course, good food). I got the Pho with the Fatty Brisket, my friend got just the Steak Pho. They have a bar against the wall with all garnishes you may need to grab what you'd like. This is pretty smart... It saves them from waste. Instead of giving people items they may not use-- they would just grab what they'd like themselves. My friend grabbed her goodies, I prefer mine as is. To me, if your broth is good and doesn't require me to flavor it... I'll eat it just like that (unless I feel like adding spice). I've only ever been to a few other Pho places where I had to season up the broth myself...definite no no for them. All my friends who have gone out to eat Pho with me know I eat it just how I get it. Pho from my Mama is a different story though... I put the works (not because it's not flavorful) but, it's just different. Moving on... They also have a Teazona in their establishment. I've tried a few different drinks in the past but came to regularly deciding on the Tiramisu Milk Tea (no flan for me, light boba). Make sure to shake it well. You can also let them know your preference on the level of sweetness. We both got this tonight and it nearly tipped me over on the full scale. Couldn't finish it. Everything was really good though. Pho was the perfect choice for this weird, gloomy weather we've been having. The price is a bit up there but that seems to be the norm everywhere nowadays. But-- for the portion, the quality, and the service? Worth it.

Instead, the workers were standing with their backs to us , and left us standing there for a while. In fact , I was so confused I was looking around for a kiosk to order my food. The next thing that I didn't like was the price of our lunch. 45.00 for one sandwich , two small cups of soup , two fountain drinks , and a dessert. Seems pricey for a sandwich spot. I get it - this is a step up from Subway. However, for what I spent - I expected more. Finally, the dining room tables were grimy. I had to clean off our own table before the food arrived. I felt like this was inexcusable considering the amount of staff standing around not doing much. Here is what I did like. The menu has a nice variety of hot or cold sandwiches, sides , and desserts. Everything sounded so good. Today, I opted for the Monterey chicken sandwich. While the flavor was good, it ate a little messy. I had chicken pieces falling out and cheese oozing out of the bottom. I don't think I would order this again- there appears to be better options to choose from. The baked potato soup was really good ( salty but delicious)! Hands down , the best thing we tried was Gary's chocolate cake. That cream cheese frosting was heavenly! Heads up- this cake is super sweet ,and a little goes a long way. She wanted fried rice and this is what Yelp told us was a good place to eat. We walk in and while it's cooler than the 98 degrees outside, but it doesn't feel relieving. I later saw that the temperature was set to 85 degrees. The menu is pretty straightforward. I'm split between the beef salad, the laab and the Thai salad. I really like laab but only when it comes with sticky rice. Beef salad is one of my favorite dishes and it's really filling. But it has to be done right! The authentic spots usually get it right. The bourgeois restaurants usually get it wrong. I'm getting good vibes from Thai Season so I give it a go. Everyone else gets orange chicken, fried rice and garlic chicken with pad Thai. My daughter complained that her pork fried rice had huge chunks of broccoli and onion in it, but she still liked it. My wife felt her chow mein wasn't very good. I thought it was bland, but she liked her fried rice. My youngest liked his orange chicken and fried rice. My wife and I felt the orange chicken was just OK. Panda has better to be honest. My beef salad was just OK. Possibly the laziest way I've had it was with Italian dressing. 2 different restaurants for that too me. The way I like it, and the way I make mine, is with a homemade citrusy dressing. I could not pin the reason why this one failed, other than it tasted watered down. Hands down though, we all felt my sons garlic chicken and pad Thai was the best dish by far. I almost gave this 3 stars until I remembered I paid $92. Maybe I need to stay out of Clovis. Apparently they like bland food If there was one thing I liked, they serve everything in ready to go boxes.

When it comes down to it, I trust this under-the-radar restaurant to deliver fresh and delicious…read morefood relatively quickly -at a competitive price. For lunch, I opted for the Panang curry with steamed veggies, and a side of pad Thai. My wife ordered a chicken salad with peanut dressing. Ordering is a little awkward. This place is set up for takeout, although there are a few tables spread throughout if you decide to eat there. Truth be told, the dining room is sad. You will see a few tables, and a few pictures on the wall. There is no music playing , and there is no staff -other than the owners and their son (Siam). I get it! Reducing overhead in today's economic environment makes a lot of sense. Restaurants are running lean and mean these days. For now, my rating stands at 4 stars. I enjoyed my lunch and visit with Siam. I'll need to try more menu items to determine if I need to bump my rating up to 5 stars. Next time, I'm going to trust the owner to cook something for me that will change my life. I want a dish so tasty that I will forget all the other Thai places that I have previously tried. My main recommendation would be to spruce up the dining room to make it more inviting to dine in. I would also suggest to redesign the menu to include pictures , or get one of those monitors that runs a slide show of all of the wonderful dishes to choose from. I will be back with intent on trying 4 or 5 new dishes to get a better grasp of the full menu.
