My family and I went to the Whalers Village in Ka'anapali recently and wanted something sweet, so we stopped at Haagen Dazs for some ice cream. There's nothing better to enjoy on a warm day, than something cool and refreshing. I enjoyed a double scoop of Mint Chip and Coffee Chip. My wife had a single scoop of Coffee Chip and our son enjoyed a Brownie A-La Mode. We found some seats outside and under an umbrella to enjoy our treats. The staff were friendly and patient, since it was fairly crowded. The staff took the time to help each customer and greeted everyone graciously. read more

I've been here a few times, not some place I HAVE TO go to. Since we were in the area and it was hot, what a perfect way to cool off, with ice cream/milk shakes. Got two regular sized milk shakes. $8.30/each. Pretty pricey, expected, but it wasn't worth it. My milk shake was more on the watery side and didn't even go to the top, it was covered with whipped cream to make up for the space. It was tasty but definitely a once in a great while spot. On the plus side, the workers were really nice and the ice cream is up to the haagen dazs quality. Do note that in Lahaina it is hot. Their doors are open and it's not that cool in there, they even have a fan to keep the air moving. Nice spot in the area, but recommend venturing a little further for some shave ice or ice cream from the abc store. More bang for your buck. read more

For a medium size hot fudge sundae it cost over $11. I know it is in Maui but that seems an excessive amount to charge. The store needs to be cleaned instead of the worker being on her phone the entire time. read more

I've been going to this location for years. Typical Haagen-Daz options, which are always tasty. I got the macadamia nut ice cream and it was simply delightful. When I stepped outside, the ice cream immediately started melting, but it was still refreshing. The service wasn't extra friendly, they really lacked any personality. We love coming here every Sunday we take a ride to Lahaina to cruz and then go here to have a treat, unfortunately we have to park in the paid parking just to go in and every time we come there is this 2 girls always waive our parking ticket they know we are locals and been coming every time so that was nice of them it says a minimum of $15 purchase to get your ticket validated we always only spend about $11 to $12 when we come, but today was a bad experience with one girl today on December 22 2024 at 11am she knew us when the other girls was giving us free parking I told her you know we come Al the time and now you are asking us to buy more to add to $15 just so we can get the ticket validated no customer service to the locals at all, we live in wailuku and drive down to get a treat and get treated like this and to say I remember you guys but still insist to buy more is unacceptable in my book where is the Aloha and treating with respect . The Affogato is amazing! This is in a small cup with one scoop of ice cream of your choosing and a pour over of espresso coffee over the top. They made it nice here. No sampling ice cream here, however. Darn - made picking flavors tricky with younger children. It's like every other Haagen dazs besides that fact that it's in Maui. They charge $4.47 plus tax for a kiddie cone. Pricey still. I actually enjoyed the ice cream. I got the peanut butter cup. Which was tasty and full of chucks of peanut butter (which I love). I also got another flavor of ice cream praline which was okay, but I enjoyed the peanut butter the best. I'd check out ono gelato before his though. Discovered them after going here and they're amazing. But if your favorite place is Hagen Dazs, then you have to go here in Maui. read more

When you need an ice cold treat, what better way to indulge while you're on vacation or simply hanging out on your weekend escape from urban Honolulu, is to come here to Haagen Daz's shop in the quaint hotel cul-de-sac of Kaanapali. This is where I was on a recent September 2016 weekend and decided to pull through here after getting my Maui marathon packet nearby at the Westin Maui resort. Ice cream is a dime a dozen really. However, with a name like Haagen Daz, you know you'll be getting a good product at a competitive price. While I know it is Maui and it is in a popular resort area, chances of prices being reasonable probably gets thrown out the window, just because it's like that to begin with. I believe that this place used to be Cold Stone Creamery or a Baskin Robbins previously, but not sure. Someone can correct me on that, if I am wrong. I had strolled here around 3:00pm and though about having an ice cream to celebrate my birthday. 37 years on this planet already. Where did the time go? At the time, there was a few people in the store and a couple of people outside sitting on the tables and enjoying their sweet delights. The store itself was fairly small, almost like a kiosk stand at the mall or something. It was in between some buildings that made this building smaller than the rest of the buildings within the Whaler's Village shopping complex. The overall experience here was very much short lived, as I just chose what I wanted, watch them get product, present it to me, paid, and I left the store to enjoy the ice cream I had purchased. This Haagen Daz ice cream parlor location is situated at the Whaler's Village shopping center in the heart of Kaanapali complex of hotels. It's centrally located at 2435 Kaanapali Parkway, Lahaina. Like most retail establishments, expect them to accept credit cards for sure, since many tourists come through here and often use credit cards for quick and painless payments. I asked about the sizing and pricing, which I was told that the medium cup, which takes 2 scoops, was about $5.50, whereas the large cup goes for $7.00 and probably holds 3 scoops. 99% of the clientele that come to Kaanapali and the surrounding areas of Lahaina Front Street, Napili, and Kapalua, arrive by rental cars for ease and comfort. I include myself now in that mix whenever I am on holiday on Maui. However, to get here without a rental car, your only option would be to take the public transit (Maui Bus) and make 3 connections from Kahului Airport to Kaanapali. Sometimes, it can take a while, but at least you're saving up money for the vacationing. OGG - Queen K - Wharf Cinima Center - Whaler's Village. For the most part, the experience at Haagen Daz - Lahaina is as good as it can get. The service here was friendly, quick, and decidedly average. What more can you expect from an ice cream shop, but good, quick service. The ice cream product was fairly good, but I have had better. Cold Stone Creamery has a better assortment of flaors, even Baskin Robbins too. I wouldn't doubt that any of the local supermarket's have better selection too, at the fraction of the price sold at Haagen Daz. Oh well, I guess I paid for the sheer conveience factor. For what it's worth, $5.50 isn't that bad for ice cream. It's like paying for ice cream at the airport. It's pricey for how much they give you. Two scoops and you're good to go and you're pretty much banking on the sugar getting through your day. While the prices are kind of reasonable, you are in the heart of Lahaina and on Maui, so I'm not going to gripe too much. Celebrating my birthday and ran a marathon the next morning. Sounds like paradise to me. I'd rate this place 3.5 stars. Wasn't the best, but I'd say it's downright average. Like others have stated, the girl here as a bad attitude. There was a girl that was new that seemed pleasant enough but the girl that was in charge was just snotty. I asked her a pretty basic question and started getting and attitude, so I clarified and just got a snottier attitude. Ended up walking out which is super rare for me...like maybe once every 5 years I will just leave a place because I dislike who I'm dealing with that much. Friendly young man who waited on us had difficulty with understanding and communicating English. So he diverted our order to unfriendly manager who scooped two of the smallest scoops of ice cream I've ever had from a ice cream shop. Filled half the small cup. The menu sign in the store shows the two scoops of ice cream going over the top of the cup for $6 and change. You can get the two scoops in a small waffle cone for another $1.50. So, if you get the two small scoops like I had in a cup with the waffle cone, you're out the door for $8+. Just a few savory licks and it disappeared in a couple of minutes. Customer service here is HORRENDOUS! I've been here twice while on vacation and both times they had bare bones selection and unhelpful customer service reps. No eye contact from either when I was told "We're out of cookies and cream." And the most sarcastic "Sorry." I've ever heard. The first time I went in there was also a thirty minute wait for ice cream. And they ran out of practically their entire menu but rather than a free coupon, an apology, a warning while we're all standing in line for 30 minutes, or even an alternative I got a half-hearted "Yeah, we're out." As the guy took the next order. Been coming here a long time, and I've never had issues in the past. But my experience both times has lead me to never want to come back here again. The people here obviously need to go back to training if they think a "Who cares." Attitude is the way to go. And I already know I'm not the only one off put by their attitudes either. As someone who has been coming to Maui and Hagen Daz for the past several years - I can promise I will no longer recommend or be coming to this establishment. read more
