My husband drove down to Lincoln today to pick up a really large order of donuts for a work meeting. He normally just does the generic Dunkin Donuts or Krispy Kreme. He called to check out pricing here and it is VERY reasonable for specialty donuts. 13 dollars for a dozen if you let them pick your dozen... or 16 if you select the dozen yourself. He let them select and there are no doubles in the boxes and he did a rather large order of 12 dozen. He also purchased a half dozen for us, and I wound up swapping two out from the larger ones that looked better. I really loved the cheesecake donut, this was very light and the topping was yummy. The other favorite was a donut version of a strawberry shortcake popsicle. These two were very light which is probably why I liked them better. I tried the red velvet, pop rocks, butterfinger... these were all very dense and not my favorite for that reason. Taste was good but I couldn't have more than a bite or two. Would totally get these again. Very happy with the pricing/packaging. I know his coworkers are going to be very happy with these. I hear we are getting one in Omaha eventually which will be an interesting rival against Bob's. They beat in price for sure. We are surprised they don't charge more. read more

I'm interested to find out if this donut place is all hype or there is a reason why people rave about this 24 hour shop. Parking at the Lincoln location would be usually tough to find downtown. There is no free parking unless you arrive early in the morning or later in the evening. This place is located in an older building and you wouldn't know the donut shop is there unless you are looking for a small sign. They show 70 variety of donuts but only one third were available for purchase. The staff were patient with my questions and there was minor confusion about the type of donuts I wanted. Overall, it was a good experience and I look forward towards a return visit in the newly opened store in Omaha. read more

Gourmet donuts for those of us who take our sugar laden pastries are little more seriously than what the local gas station had to offer. Hurts donuts has it ALL-massively creative combinations and flavors. The menu changes daily, the creations are a magnificent and sometimes a little odd, but you can always find the classics lurking in the beautiful display case. I like a Hurt's Donut quite a bit, but there are some drawbacks. They're specialty donuts, and large to boot, so they can break the bank if you're bringing donuts for a group. Plus they're so sweet they honestly make my teeth hurt. And trying to park in front is an ordeal. But! Everything is always delicious, awesome selection of flavors, the shop is clean, the employees are polite, and I'm usually in and out within five minutes. A cool little secret you may not have noticed on their menu board- pick your favorite donut and they'll make you a milkshake with those flavors/toppings and one of the donuts on top! Since they're open literally all the time this is a cool dessert option for late nights. They were open. We were fiending for sweets at 11pm we drove by. They looked kinda like the lights were on? We walked up. Pulled on the handle..... THeY WERE OpEN! I think I scared one of the ladies stocking things. She had headphones on and when she turned around there we were asking questions. The donuts were beautiful. As far as taste tho.... kind of hit and miss. I had one that was so good. It was a classic cake donut with white frosting with sprinkles. The other one. Not so good. Had a circus animal cookie on it with those tiny hard sprinkles covering the top. It was not a good choice. Tasted bland. Maybe I need a coffee or something to go with it. Hurts Donuts was a great quick stop for an afternoon snack. They are open 7 days a week 24 hours a day (says their front door sign). I was greeted right away and the staff were very helpful and patient with me as I made my selections. Choosing only two to try on my own was really hard! They offer two kinds of doughnuts. They offer a cake batter doughnut and a yeast doughnut. After trying one of each, I can say I much prefer the yeast doughnut. They were fluffy and balance the heaviness of the salted caramel cheesecake filling. I also tried the cake twice doughnut. I love twice but this doughnut was just ok. The true beauty was the filled salted caramel cheesecake chocolate frosted doughnut. I would eat this again and again. Yum! I also purchased a small milk to go with my doughnuts. It was a smart move to help wash down the gooey sweetness. They take card but only give electronic receipts via email or text. Just an FYI - I like the green effort! read more

Great donuts but customer service sucked. My partner and I walked in and were not acknowledged, even though there were 3 employees up in the front. They were just doing what they had to do (job wise). We stood there for a couple of minutes and still not a word to us. Finally one of the employees finished what they were doing, walked up to us and just starred at us, as if I was supposed to read her mind. I was starring back until I asked if we were able to get help which she then replied "yes". Everyone looked miserable and it just killed the whole vibe. They could have at the very least told us that someone will be with us shortly or something, because I myself have been in customer service for 10 years and I know it's not that hard to say. Such a unique place that is a must stop in Lincoln. Surprisingly, this delicious spot is open 24 hours, 7 days a week. Conveniently, located downtown right next to the restaurants and bars, you can stop in for a sweet treat anytime. These donuts are decadent, so make sure you pace yourself. We only tried 2 donuts (serious self control), 1 blueberry streusel and 1 strawberry cheesecake donut. The blueberry streusel was just okay, but the strawberry cheese cake was delicious. First and Last time I would ever go into this donut shop. The young girl with the pink/red hair, tattoos and way to much makeup was EXTREMLY rude. The donuts were good, but if I'm going to spend 18 hard earned dollars on a dozen donuts, I would like to be treated like a valued customer. She was very unfriendly, very curt, and was slamming the donuts into the box. When I requested one flavor, I got "we're out"..... It's too bad because the donuts were good. No one was in there so my friend and I stood there for awhile till I finally leaned over the counter and yelled hello a couple times. After a couple more minutes someone finally came out. Our family had been excited to try their donuts after missing one of the ambulances that came to our area. This was my first experience with the business and I was treated so rudely. I live in Omaha and called in an order ahead of time to pickup. The person I spoke to had an attitude about us wanting to pick up curbside and pay over the phone. I called the store when we got there, as directed, but they didn't pick up. Called once more, no answer. On the last call I made that was answered, I mentioned my name and that we arrived to pick up an order and the response was, "We saw you and we're coming out. Stop calling." And then hung up. The five of us picked a dozen donuts - all different flavors - and a maple-bacon donut and then took them upstairs to the seating and DEMOLISHED them. Although I got lost three times trying to find Hurt's every minute of confusion was worth it. Lincoln finally has it's own version of Voodoo Donuts and they do not disappoint. I felt like a kid in a candy store with all the different options. My favorites were the iced animal cracker topped beauties along with a key lime pie version.
