Ice cream was good, the employees were not. I witnessed one of the employees publicly complain about a customer to another employee about him. The customer visibly had a cognitive disability and when looking to pay, he needed some extra time to sort his affairs. The employee immediately went to her counterpart retelling the story with the customer saying "it was the longest five minutes of my life". The story was recounted in front of customers with no discretion. For an establishment that claims to be inclusive and support diversity, it does not reflect in the employee-base it hires. Despite the chilly weather, I am SO happy we came inside to this adorable ice cream shop! Pro-tip, try the waffle cone. It's made with cinnamon sugar, making it truly a delight! The ice cream was good (taste wise) sort of but something was wrong with it. It was overly soft (softer than soft serve) and liquified almost instantly (it didn't even survive the way to my car which was just outside); I questioned if something was wrong with the freezer or the ice cream itself but they said no that's just how the ice cream was. I've gone on hotter days and it's never been this soft. So I feel sort of lied to about this. Some of the best handmade ice cream in Lincoln. Have not been disappointed any time I have been in the area and dropped by. If you are a coffee lover, get the coffee ice cream when they have it. Some of the best I have ever had, and I try it every place that has it. If you want to feel adventurous, try the Taro ice cream when they have it. It's a slightly nutty flavor but different in a hard way to describe, but amazing. I had two scoops and could have finished a gallon of it was in front of me. They are one of the only places that have that and other unique flavors in the area that I have found. The flavors do rotate and you do have to go in and take a gamble they don't have one your craving. It's a love/hate, you end up getting another flavor and finding yet another one you love. This is a must do when I'm in Lincoln. It's the cutest little ice cream shop. It makes you feel like you are going back in time, but with a hip-vibe. Located in the happening Haymarket district there is ample public parking available. When you get there they will allow you sample pretty much anything on a teeny tiny spoon. One of my favorite things here is the rosewater flavored ice cream. I LOVE rosewater and it's usually really hard to find in anything, let alone an ice cream flavor! They d on't always have it, but when they do I highly recommend for a very unique experience. $6 for two scoops in a waffle cone?! Deal! The ice cream in churned in store (they have a couple barrels going in the front of the store). It's so thick and rich and has a nice almost gelato-y pull to it with each scoop. I got pecan pie, which had small bits of pecan in it and not overly sweet like pecan pie can be (they didn't have butter pecan which is my go to at any ice cream shop) and coffee flavor. Coffee was actually bitter and tasted like real coffee! Cute monster themed decor and little toys for the kids. As soon as I walked into the sunshine to enjoy it, it was running down my fingers. One shouldnt be limited to eating the icecream inside the AC. Despite my few recommendations, Ivanna Cone is in a prime location in the Haymarket for date nights, college and high school kids, and families out for a dinner or lunch. I tried a flight of ice cream, which is a neat feature where you get a small portion of several flavors so you can try different things. The selection is pretty limited so I actually had trouble finding 6 that I would like. How was the ice cream? It was fine. Out of the 6 I tried, I liked 2 of them enough to finish them. The others I left more of than I ate. If I were to go here again I would definitely choose just one flavor that I'd sampled to be sure I'd like it. They do have some pretty weird ones to choose from too. This is usually a plus for me, but there was just something lacking in the execution of some flavor combinations.
