    Nem Nuong Spring Rolls $11
    Linda H.

Favorite place to get nem nuong rolls!! So tasty! Anytime we are in SJ, I make us stop here so I can get some. Hu tieu ca and banh cuon are quite good as well! Cash only, and they charge a little extra if you want to do to-go.

    #16 - BANH BEO - $10

WHEN: Sun @3:30pm Located in the food court of the the Grand Century Mall, which gets pretty busy since its the weekend. Parking is decent since the mall has plenty of free parking. Most if not all food stalls only take cash come prepared! There's also a decent amount of seatings since it was after the lunch rush hour, however it's still busy. After circling the food court for awhile trying to decide on food, my sis and I decided on this spot and ordered: #1 MI QUANG - $14 We asked for extra broth since this dish is known to be served with very little broth. Overall decent but not a huge fan of the meat it comes in. #16 - BANH BEO - $10 Comes with 6. Made to order so very fresh when it comes out. Eat right away while its hot and soft! Not enough for a meal but a fun snack to share. Each has a pork rind, and just enough shrimp and green onion (not generous). Overall delicious! I think there's only a total of 2 people working here because it does take awhile for the food to be ready. They do have a posting that says "Help Wanted". The wait was around 35 minutes and they have a huge selection to pick from.

Located within the Grand century Mall food court, so we didn't expect anything fancy. Prices are reasonable and they take cash only. The menu on the wall is simple and has most of the common items you'd see at any Vietnamese restaurant. The food didn't take long to come out after ordering at the counter. The food was great. We got the bun bo hue and bun with BBQ pork. Both were delicious and filling despite portions being on the smaller side. Overall, this place is a good pick for a quick satisfying lunch.

Food: 10/10 Service: N/A (pay at the counter and seat yourself) Portion size: medium Value: 6/10 (4 spring rolls for $11) Wait time: 7 minutes to get our food after ordering; there was no line on a Sunday afternoon First time coming to this mini mall and it's food court. I wanted to try the Nem Nuong cuon (grilled pork spring rolls) in South Bay and wanted to support this small mom and pop shop! The grilled pork spring rolls were definitely delicious, fresh, and I'm coming back for more! When they were served to us they were hot and fresh. The spring roll skin was soft and warm and the grilled pork was hot off the stove! The veggies wrapped inside give the spring roll a refreshing taste since the grilled pork has some flavoring. There was also a yellow crunchy thing inside (see pictures) I think it's fried tofu skin? But anyways it really elevated the spring roll for me! It gave the roll texture and a more of a crunch! Next time I would like to try their rice plates but this visit I was just looking for an afternoon snack! Definitely coming back for those spring rolls!

Great variety of Viet food & plenty of (empty) seating at this food court. We only ate at this place...owners are nice and prices are reasonable! The banh cuon was so steaming hot fresh, I almost bought seconds. But I ultimately decided to get their banh beo since it looked so good. Nice little gem in the Century Mall, highly recommend and I'll be back for sure

    Grilled shrimp spring rolls

I actually quite like this place! I ordered the grilled shrimp spring rolls twice this week. I know $11 is kind of steep for spring rolls, but it does come with 4 rolls. The dipping sauce is also really good and not watered down like most places. I already have an idea of what i want to try the next time I come back here. Can't wait.

They got my order wrong twice and tried to charge my husband $1.50... my husband let the worker know there was no mistake in what we ordered and we paid exactly what we asked for so there was no reason to be charged $1.50 because they got my order wrong TWICE. The other issue was that it was cash only! My husband had to go atm across the restaurant which they charged $3.99! Overall, No indoor seating due to covid. This restaurant told us to go behind the building where they have seats, table & canopy. It was extremely cold outside so we had to bare eating in the cold but the food was good. My rice plate portion was so small I was still hungry right after...

    Mi Quang was decent.

Decent food court type food in Little Saigon. I had the Mi Quang and it was pretty decent. I have to think it would've been better in a real bowl vs a styrofoam one, but it is what it is.

Good eat if your into vietnamese cuisine and the choices that are offered are a start if your iffy about trying something new. The displayed on the wall shows all the dishes of how the food would look like follow by the price and number of the meal. Quite easy to order. The dining area are like the shopping malls. The meal was place and our order was ready about 10 minutes. The dishes we ordered were so delicious. Just wish I had ordered extra with the banh cuon it was so good. Overall, its a good spot and good eat.

    Susan S.

The steam roll was made pretty well! But the sides and bean-spouts I believe was pretty old! It tasted like very soggy and rotten it had a pretty bad smell to it! It made the whole dish pretty yuck! But the steam toll itself was pretty good -they do however, make very good spring rolls here no matter which kind you choose to go with Prices are very decent here

    Bun Bo Da Nang
    Nobuyuki S.

I've had some difficulty finding good VietNamese food, but thankfully, San Jose is overflowing. It's difficult to walk through the food court to find something I want to try. This place had Bun Bo Da Nang and that sounded interesting. I ordered this and asked if they had tea, and he didn't seem to charge extra for the cup of hot tea. $9.00 didn't seem much for something with good beef. I've been to many places in other areas that were less expensive but used bad pieces of meat, so I usually avoid meat when ordering VietNamese food. I had hope tonight. The tea was good and took the chill away. It wasn't long and the food was ready. You need to pay attention, as they probably won't deliver it to the table. Sitting in front of it, it looked rather amazing. I've photographed food for money and you can make bad food look good, if you try. This was really good and really hit the spot as I was a bit chilly. I couldn't eat everything because it was quite a big serving. I'll be back sometime soon, I hope.

Banh Beo (Rice Cakes with Dried Shrimp and Pork Rind)
    Mike L.

How fortuitous that the only two reviews posted before mine are a five star and a one star. Looks like my three stars fits snugly right in the middle! Considering how we had just placed our orders at Kim Loi Banh Bao a couple of stalls over, I really wasn't looking to order anything else. However, my wandering eyes and curiosity conspired against me. Not that my more rational side resisted much against the idea of trying one of my newly found favorites here. Besides, I'm just #doingitforYelp. As soon as I saw Huong Duong's menu included BANH BEO ($6.95-ish), I just had to try it. The price was fair enough for what we got (all seven were nicely filled), but I can't say I was overly impressed. I liked the size of the pork rinds, and the dried shrimp was really flavorful (albeit unevenly distributed), but the rice cakes were a bummer. While the flavor was fine (don't forget the fish sauce!), the consistency was thicker and more gluttonous than I would have liked. Given how the food wasn't bad, and how earnest and friendly the workers are, I'd be open to returning again. Since Huong Duong is essentially a food court joint (they're inside the Grand Century Mall), it's not like I was expecting their banh beo to be as good as others I've tried anyways (though I was hopeful). Plus, I'm curious about trying their Nem Nuong Cuon (pork sausage spring roll), even if it seems to figure heavily in both the one AND the five star reviews...

We pulled up around 2:30AM, slightly buzzed and somehow fully committed to a seafood boil in the middle of the night. Honestly? Zero regrets. First of all, the place was surprisingly packed for that hour which immediately made us trust the process. We ordered a huge seafood boil with king crab legs on the side and fried rice, and we completely grubbed out. Everything was buttery, flavorful, messy, spicy, and exactly what you want after a night out. The fried rice was ridiculously good too and somehow became one of the sleeper favorites of the whole meal. Still can't get over the fact they're open until 4AM. I have no problem sucking the claw meat out where as other restaurants I have to dig inside the claw to pull out the meat. Soooo good and I visit as often as I can. Friendly service. They offer other food options as well like Bun Bo Hue, Bun Rieu, etc, but the seafood boil is so good that's all I ever get here. It's also open till 4am!!! Club and seafood boil after?

One reason is that I don't live in the San Jose area anymore, and another is that there are now so many seafood boil spots around since Boiling Crab really started the trend. One positive right away: there was no long wait. We arrived around 8pm and were seated immediately, which was great. I remember the days when we'd have to put our name down and walk around Target while waiting for our table. I do wish they offered combo bags like a lot of other seafood boil places do now, since that's always a hit. Instead, we ordered 3 pounds of shrimp with whole-sha-bang sauce in mild. The shrimp themselves were great--nice and big, not the tiny peanut-sized ones you sometimes get. The flavor was also really good. However, the "mild" tasted much spicier than I remembered. From past visits, mild always had a small kick but was still pretty manageable. This honestly tasted closer to medium. My boyfriend politely asked one of the servers if he could get a small side of garlic butter because the sauce was spicier than expected. She immediately responded that it would be $5 for extra sauce, and the way it was said came off pretty rude. We understand that there's an option to make the bag "extra saucy" for an additional charge, but he wasn't asking for extra sauce for the whole bag--just a small side to balance out the spice. Even a simple response like "I'm sorry it came out spicier than expected" would have gone a long way. I've worked in customer service for over 15 years, and I've always believed in "kill them with kindness." We weren't rude at all--we just mentioned that it seemed spicier than mild. In the end, we decided to just skip the extra sauce. Again, the flavor was still good, but to me this definitely tasted more like medium. When we got our check, a different server asked how everything was. My boyfriend mentioned that the sauce was spicier than mild, and she responded with, "Oh no, I'm sorry it wasn't exactly what you wanted." We told her it wasn't her fault since we had already mentioned it earlier, and she just gave us a sympathetic look. Overall, the food itself was good, and I'd probably give it a 4 for taste, but the lack of customer service knocked the experience down for me. I understand it was later in the evening and they still had a full lobby, but a little kindness and attentiveness would have made a big difference.

I'm used to typical straightforward nature at markets, but their attitude is something else. I was constantly berated while looking at mangos near the door. Literally the whole time, an employee was standing right next to me and nagging me as if I was about to topple all the fruit off the stand or completely obstructing the door. I wasn't, and it's absolutely normal to sort through and select fruit? These mangos are EXPENSIVE, I don't want to just blindly pick a box. When I asked if I should pay outside or inside at the cashier (since some grocers will have you pay for outside merchandise, outside), she rudely asked if I was blind and couldn't see the cashier. I asked the cashier about this behavior (in Vietnamese) and was entirely ignored. Literally not a single word said. Not sure why I hadn't just left at this point, but I bought 6 large, rather expensive, boxes. I truly regret it because even THEN, they made me feel like a nuisance for setting them down outside as I carried them 2-by-2 to my car on the other side of the parking lot. There are no carts and I'm not exactly the strongest body builder out there, not sure what they expected of me. I regret spending my money here.
