Cute, small, cozy cafe! I needed a serious amount of zen on a stressful day so I switched up the typical latte order for a cup of iced tea. They didn't have the largest selection (I am pretty sure there were two teas on the menu) but the one I got hit the spot. All the good: Friendly barista A couple pastries (I think I got a matcha bread) A few tables (folks on laptops should confirm that they have wifi) Cute space inside and out. I kind of love the wavy fence and cottage look of it. PS One of my favorite things is finding new to me businesses. Being from Baton Rouge means that I'm not used to the frenetic always-on energy of New York, and Hungry Ghost became my little oasis when I needed a few moments to myself and some caffeine for the soul. The lattes they whipped up for me were executed perfectly, and they used a delightful and complex medium roast that I'm guessing had beans from at least two different continents. The chocolate muffin I had on one visit was perfect. Absolutely perfect. Service was prompt and police, and I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in the area. read more

This place was pretty friendly on the weekend. ( a woman barista) she was alone at the store but friendly, smily and happy mood. Inside of the store is very clean. There were only 3 tables but comfort couch was set up. I was there before they're closing up I'm not sure if you can find a place during the day time. I'm def coming back. 5 stars for service. I came in late on a Saturday hoping for a quick pick me up before the gym. The one barista was swamped with impatient coffee fiends nervously tapping their feet demanding their perfect order. I slunk off to the side and patiently awaited my turn to offer the barista a small touch of kindness (HINT--it usually goes a long way especially with people who serve one food if one believes in energy or even just basic human decency) and receive my jolt of caffeine for the evening. I ordered an iced oat milk latte with an extra shot. It is doing the job quite well as I'm on a roll with this review and am bout to zoom in focus on my workout. The ambiance is cute with the trees and shrubbery in front and a very natural interior that is easy on the eyes. Long story short, I will likely be back on convenience alone. read more

My friend is a park slope resident. She has been raving about Hungry Ghost. When I was in Williamsburg, I passed one. I ordered a small cup of coffee. You know when you are having good coffee? The aroma and flavor of this coffee are simply delightful. I would love to learn more about the coffee blend they use and the type of milk that gives it that unique creamy texture. It's remarkable how, even without adding sugar, every sip remains a flavorful and satisfying experience. There is only one barista and she is super fast. Only went here bc a friend dragged me. The coffee isn't bad. I'm just tired of being inundated with the overpriced coffee shops. 5.25 for a Capp that amounts to just an oversized espresso with milk??? No thank you. Too many of these bougie spots in Williamsburg now. The cups are shrinking and the prices keep growing. Not to mention charging .75 cents extra for oat milk??? The price of oat is the same as the price of whole milk. If you do the math, it takes 5 or 6 coffees with oat milk to cover the cost of a half gallon of milk which will make at least 12-15 drinks. They partner exclusively with Stumptown Coffee, and this location sells Ovenly baked goods and refrigerated items from Grass Roots Juicery on Graham Ave. My Americano was good. There's food for gluten free and vegan people, including a bangin looking gf Apple Cheddar Scone. Breakfast Tacos are $3.95 ea on flour tortillas. This place is a grab and go coffee spot as they have limited seating and no bathroom or wifi. They have decaf espresso but not drip. (For decaf drip go across Bedford to Whole Foods.) Went here on Sunday the 9th in the afternoon for a lil hot chocolate and wow the service was horrible. Was met with probably the single most unfriendly barista who gave me a ton of attitude after getting into an argument and yelling at a customer. I've been coming to this location about once a week since they opened. I haven't had a bad experience at all with the variety of staff I've met and find most of them to be more than pleasant and efficient. The coffee is great and prices are what they are given the beans are Stumptown and it's Bedford Avenue in Williamsburg. They are next to an Apple store and across from a Whole Foods. Most times they start making my drink as I walk in the door because they already now I'll order the same drink every time. Love this place. read more
