As a result, there's often no seating left for actual customers who simply want to enjoy a coffee, meet a friend, or spend a little time in the space. What makes it even more frustrating is that some people working on their laptops visibly show annoyance when others are talking nearby, rolling their eyes, sighing, and making "huffing and puffing" noises, as if regular conversation in a coffee shop is an inconvenience. That shouldn't be normalized. Coffee shops are, first and foremost, social spaces where people gather and connect, not full-time coworking offices. If management wants to accommodate both groups, perhaps the square seating area in the center could be designated as a first-come, first-served laptop section. But regardless, something needs to change and the purpose of the space needs to be reconsidered. I no longer have the motivation to come here every day and spend money on coffee only to feel unwelcome or unable to find a seat. Until the policies change, I won't be coming back.
