I decided to try coffee delivery when my usual roaster went out of business. I'm extremely picky about my coffee, so I was pretty sceptical at first, but then my coffee arrived... It lived up to it's description and then some, and now I'm totally hooked! The downside is that I can no longer tolerate anyone else's coffee . I find the customer service to be very prompt, personalized and courteous. They always ask for and follow up on your feedback Make sure you take into account the shipping time when you make your orders. I didn't at first and was running out in between deliveries. My coffee went missing in the mess that is the USPS and Craft Coffee did not respond to multiple reach-outs via phone, email and website. This was the second time this happened. In my experience, CraftCoffee has inferior customer service, as emails and voicemails are not returned, and the shipper, USPS, is the poster child of unreliability. Be very cautious with Craftcoffee.com. They sent me rather decent coffee which is fine considering they're the cheapest subscription option I could find. However, one of the bags arrived with a big hole up top. After 3 attempts at communication (email reply, website contact form, website chat box) I simply gave up and cancelled when I didnt receive a single response. They offer no phone number either. Edit: I just discovered that they build their credibility because Forbes listed them as one of the 11 best coffee subscriptions. That's a lie. If you click their link to Forbes, Forbes recommends 11 other companies and never mentions CraftCoffee. This company relies on the fact that without a real physical location, people can't find reviews. So they do anything they want, because there are no consequences. read more

I received Craft Coffee as a birthday gift and I had three serious problems with this company: 1) When I redeemed the gift card and went online, even though I kept on choosing single-origin coffees, the website kept on defaulting to an unwanted blend 2) Their customer service was useless. It also defaults to an automated messaging machine promising a "prompt response" to any queries; nonetheless, no one ever called me back 3) My numerous follow-up emails requesting assistance also went unanswered In frustration I finally signed up to receive undesired coffee blends. Quality of beans are superb. I choose Whole Bean each time with my traditional drip machine and the results are fantastic. Each bag is time stamped with roast date, always within 5 days of arrival to my door. Average price I'm paying is $7-9 for a 12oz bag, Their dashboard to rate or change coffee, adjust delivery date etc. is user friendly as well. So by using Craft Coffee, you're committing to buy in bulk, but paying more than you would elsewhere for similar quality coffee, with less flexibility in when you can get it. This is sort of based on the premise that it's fresh roasted. So we burned through $150 in coffee pretty quickly because it's a bit overpriced for what it is and freshly roasted ok coffee is still just "ok" After I was notified my first or second order shipped on two day shipping, it was over a week late so I emailed customer service about it on a Monday morning. They responded on Wednesday afternoon with a "apologies, looks like it was delivered though" type email. When I emailed them back about the delayed response and delivery, they never responded. The personalization when setting up your account was limited (Jan/Feb 2016) so we ended up getting shipped the opposite of what we wanted e.g. What coffee are you drinking now? Folgers. Ok! we'll give you our closest thing to that. Bye! And you're like wait I wanted to say I didn't want that... My parents were also gifted this, but it was too much of a process for them to set it up for themselves, so we had to do it for them. A few of us have this and we all had a lot of trouble using the dashboard, which the customer service rep said was a new system but looks like the same system for the last few months. It also takes 7+ days for them to prepare an order, so if you run out of coffee and want to move up your delivery date, its like "too bad, go somewhere else and buy it." All the buttons on the dashboard are confusing because there is a ton of text and then buttons that say things like "change amount and cycle" sort of buried on the page. It's not a bad product, it's just that the value proposition is convenience and personalized quality/craft, and its none of those things. read more

Have been a subscriber for at least six months now and for the first time, I'd rather make my own coffee than go out to the local coffee place. Website makes it very easy to dial in just the right amount of coffee and change blends. Didn't love the first blend of beans I received so went online and talked to somebody there and they were able to help me pick a second blend that I absolutely love (Hudson blend). Since then I've been figuring out the best delivery timing for me and changing it has been very easy. So gotta say, big fan of the beans and big fan of the website. I started a subscription in January 2016. Every month I get one pound sent to me. I enjoyed the first blend I purchased, but I wanted to try a new blend anyway. Being so convenient to have coffee delivered, and freshly roasted to boot, why not take advantage by trying new blends. I get the whole beans and grind them myself. I've been happy with each of the four blends I've sampled, but will keep experimenting. The price is also cheaper than coffee at the local Whole Foods. So, I'm paying less for better coffee and it is delivered to my door. Win. I was confused on how to change my order when I first tried in February. The team got back with me immediately when I emailed. They've since upgraded their website also; the subscription page is now very user-friendly. One last note: they have a feature for new users where you can select your current coffee, and they will determine which blend you might like most. This worked for me, as I did enjoy the selected coffee. But again, it is so simple to sample different blends at your convenience. You choose length of time between deliveries, and amount you'd like to receive. The system is so good; I'm just thrilled that the coffee is also excellent. (For coffee aficionados: the main drawback from purchasing coffee in stores is that the beans are often past their prime. Only a few companies now stamp their bags with a roasted date. Craft Coffee selections are always recently roasted. This probably doesn't matter as much to those who choose their blends to be delivered already ground. But do yourself a favor and purchase a grinder.) read more

I'll start by saying that I LOVE the coffee varieties and I've been getting the sample packs for almost a year now. Where I'm usually extremely picky about store bought coffee, I've only run into a few varieties from Craft Coffee that I didn't like. There were a few occasions where I had to contact them about the grind sizes I was getting, either being to fine or too course. Any time I contacted them about it, they were quick to let me know that the issue would be corrected in the next order. Eventually I decided to try whole bean and started grinding at home. I have been a member of 4 different coffee clubs and so far Craft Coffee is definitely my favorite. When I went looking for clubs I wanted a service where I could try out different coffees and different flavors in smaller (but not too small) quantities. I signed up for 4 x 3 oz sampler subscription and it's been great. Compared to my other clubs it's the best value (I.e. Most coffee for the cost). And of course it's super tasty coffee! It's been really interesting to try different coffees and different roasts and really figure out what I like without having to invest in an entire bag of coffee. Their web page makes it easy to change your roast preference and your shipping timing (none of my other clubs offer this). They ship when they say they are going to (one of my other clubs is never on time) and shipping has been fast. Pros: The web site is awesome! Easy to navigate and easy to use. The coffee is awesome and far from your average brew. Smaller sampling packages make trying different coffees fun. They ship when they say they will. Cons: I wish the coffee would get to me faster. It's usually about two weeks out from the roasting, but considering all the coordination with the roasters and the shipping time I'm not sure the could do it any faster. Their list of roasters seems a little small (I've had repeat roasters...never repeat coffee), but I understand that they can't offer coffee from every roaster! read more

In search of a convenient coffee delivery service that would offer me a variety of different roasts of coffee, came across Craft Coffee via a Google Search a few months back. I signed up on the spot, excited to jump into my personalized coffee experience! They do a good job of sending different kinds of coffee every month, and that alone is pretty great. On top of that, I find that the prices are pretty fair. I have also found my experience with their Customer Service team to be super easy and helpful. However, the benefits kind of fall off after that. While I do appreciate the convenience factor, I really don't feel like they do a good job of educating me on what I am drinking, nor what they do as roasters. All in all, I'd say Craft Coffee is a nice service, albeit one that is easily replaceable. Until they add other great benefits to their service to truly differentiate themselves from other competitors, I don't feel overly loyal. That being said, I am still a happy paying customer! One other thing to note to put my 3-star review into context. I don't dish out 5 stars that often...They have to go above and beyond to earn that. 4 stars I do give if I found the food/service to be above average or had something memorable. I first tried Craft while on vacation with relatives. I was dubious because of the subscription service. After having my own subscription for about six months, I can say that I have never been so thrilled. It makes ANY other coffee that I try seem "burned" as in -- the beans obtain a harsh flavor due to over-roasting. Not so with Craft .. everything has been superlative in quality. I used to always be running to the store for coffee because I didn't realize we were getting low. I've been a subscriber for 6 months or so. I am a creature of habit and since I happened to love the first blend I got, I stuck to that. I get whole beans, as I like to grind them myself. The website is ok - I personally would prefer to just see all the options instead of the 'personalization' feature. The price is ok - not a bargain, but not bad at all for the quality of coffee you get. I had excellent experience with customer service (live chat) whenever I used it. I had a very mixed experience with Craft. Their coffee is very good. A few times I tried to contact customer service and didn't hear back promptly. A couple of shipments were late -- a lot of which has to do with the vagaries of USPS. Their management is passionate and jumps in when there's an issue, and they deserve credit for that. read more

No decaff -- and no customer service. I received a Christmas gift subscription from Craft Coffee, but it turns out they don't ship any decaff. At first, they said they would have some in a few months, yet won't tell me when. But they have decaff coffee in their Office Subscriptions now. So I asked for some of that -- or could my gift giver get his money back. Guess what? No response -- dead silence. If you or your gift recipient cannot drink caffeinated coffee, do NOT order from this company. And -- frankly, with their lack of response to a reasonable request (they HAVE decaff -- I just can't have it), I would recommend taking your business elsewhere -- there are plenty of these boutique coffee start-ups out there. read more
