First time trying this place and it was a solid experience overall. There was only one person working and she looked pretty busy, so while my online order was ready on time, you may need to wait a bit if you're ordering at the counter. The store itself is pretty small with minimal customer service, but the food was fresh and good with nothing to complain about. Looking forward to trying some of the other dishes next time.

This place is a cozy place tucked in a plaza in Orange. The staff is friendly and helpful with answering questions. I got a custom bowl with chicken shawarma. Chicken Shawarma Bowl- The chicken is delicious with the perfect amount of seasoning. Rice is fluffy and buttery. The variety of hummus is tasty with a wide range of flavors and spice level. The veggies are fresh and crisp. Yoghurt sauce is creamy. Overall a hearty meal! Will definitely come back!

Found this hidden gem thanks to my new favorite app, Too Good To Go! I went in for my surprise bag and ended up walking out with not one, but TWO meals (because clearly, self-control left the chat). The food was so fresh and flavorful -- the kind that makes you do a little happy dance in your car before you even drive off. And that dragonfruit lemonade? Obsessed. First time at this location. My coworkers and I have been to the one in Santa Ana. This is probably the last time we will dine here since it's not close to our office and we only had to come here to meet a friend. It felt pretty lifeless inside. When we arrived, there was one person eating there and only one person working, and there were six of us so it took a long time to put together our orders. There's a self order kiosk there as well. Maybe they should install a speaker and play some music. Unfortunately, I was not pleased with my chicken bowl. Everything tasted the same with the sauce slathered all over. I didn't enjoy the texture of the chicken and the rice was bland. Flavor was severely lacking. My friend got a piece of baklava for dessert and she was very disappointed. She said it tasted old and she threw it out. The young girl working was nice and she was trying hard, but it was difficult for her to do it all on her own.

Very attentive service and the food was very good. Create Your Own Bowl offered great choice of proteins, rice, greens, spreads, toppings and sauces. The Morrocan Hot Sauce has good flavor and kick. Don't forget to add zatar spices and fried chickpeas. Next time, I'll consider adding the falafel to my order.

Before I start, just wanted to say that the workers are helpful and the inside was clean! When you walk in, it's set up like a DIY station. First you choose rice or greens, protein, hummus, and toppings as you go down the line. I chose the turmeric and lemon chicken shawarma and added hummus and lemon + artichoke hummus with various toppings. Flavor wise.. some of the flavors fell flat especially with the dry shawarma and garlic sauce. Pita was nice and fluffy at least! This place is popular for a reason but it didn't hit the mark for me.

When we are in the mood for Mediterranean food, we usually order kebab combos from one of two places but we decided to DoorDash something different this time. After seeing some favorable mentions about Hummus Way in other reviews, we decided to give it a try. I wasn't sure what to order at first since there are no kebabs on the menu but instead you create your own bowl, wrap, loaded wedges, or open face pita. There are a ton of options and it was a little overwhelming since I didn't want a huge bowl with 20 things in it, but I didn't want a small bowl with only a few things in it either. I ended up ordering a bowl with white garlic sauce, traditional hummus, tzatziki, zesty feta, rice, tri tip beef shawarma , tabbouleh, and pickled cucumbers. My girlfriend ordered a wrap with traditional tahini, Zhoug falafels, traditional hummus, zesty feta, wheat, crumbled feta, beets, sumac onions, crispy garbanzo croutons, and kalamata olives. We also ordered a side of the crispy fried zucchini with garlic sauce. The restaurant is only about ten minutes away from home and our DoorDash order arrived nice and quick in under 30 minutes. The crispy fried zucchini were really good and the coating had really nice flavor. The pictures of this appetizer show zucchini spears but we were happy when zucchini slices arrived since spears can get very oily and the coating usually falls off easily. The garlic sauce also had a good flavor with little to no spiciness. Unfortunately, my bowl was somewhat disappointing. The pita bread and pickled cucumbers were good and I love basmati rice but this rice was just ok. The tri tip beef shawarma was dry. The traditional hummus was not creamy at all, and had a very firm texture like I've never had before but it tasted ok. I always look forward to trying the tabbouleh at a new place to see if it comes anywhere close to my gold standard tabbouleh at Zenas. This was the most dry tabbouleh I've ever had and it had very little flavor so I only had a few bites. My girlfriend said the wrap was ok but I didn't get any additional details. It is always nice to try new places. Not every place is going to be four or five stars.

I absolutely love this place! A great place for vegans or omnivores! But it's often too much food and too much money to go here too often. When it first opened I was able to convince the owner to give me a half sized bowl for a reduced price. I'd easily buy a half size bowl for $8 than the full size for $13. read more

Halal here! Wow, I ordered a bowl, a feast on my eyes. I was only able to eat half of my bowl. I had saved some for dinner and was still good even when reheated. Dave (manager) helped us. And greeted us when we came in. Warm fuzzies. He asked if we were newbies, we confirmed and he explained the menu to us. As I said before I had a bowl, and it's easily 2 meals in one. My wife had the falafel, and her serving was quite a bit too. We will have to visit again, love my Mediterranean grindz! read more

Amazing flavors and portion sizes. The wonderful Chef/Owner changed up the concept from the previous restaurant at the same location. (Was Spicewood.) Menu is simplified and delicious consisting of wraps, flat bread, and bowls. Similar to a subway/Chipotle concept where you tell them what you want and they build it for you. The best Mediterranean restaurant in Orange County. The To-Go boxes are stuffed and I'm barely able to finish the last bites without undoing my belt buckle. The place is fine and the food is ok . Prices are crazy expensive at least for what I ordered . 2 falafel sandwiches , 2 cokes and a side of mushroom order came out to almost $50 . That's crazy . We could've gone to a decent open buffet for that . Won't go back for that reason read more

They have a very interesting concept of choosing your food. You get to choose each and everything that lands in your plate. From the proteins, the carbs, the veggies, the sides and the sauces. The server guides you as to what you'll enjoy eating and the flavors you top it with. I really think all the components of the dishes will blend together to produce a real memorable dish. Price of the meal is very reasonable . The staff are so friendly and attentive. We'll keep coming back here. A grwat find. read more

It's my new fave secret spot. Never take the time to write reviews, but this place deserves it. Easily the top Mediterranean spot in OC and IE. Hands down. (I've tried many.) The concept is like Cava but don't be fooled, this place is light years better. Highlights : 1. DELICIOUS hummus and falafel omggggg....the rice melts in your mouth. 2. There's tons of options for toppings and they don't nickel and dime you!!! I didn't get as many onions as I wanted and they gave me extra for free....You can taste the fusion of fresh ingredients in everything. No processed nonsense. Did not feel heavy after eating here at all... 3. Chicken was tender and juicy. Lots of places have dry schwarma. 4. Try the fried garbanzo beans and sumac onions!!!! 5. Lastly, the owner is such a nice guy. Really cares about the food and your overall dining experience, and it shows. The menu is based on his travels in Dubai. Cool story behind how he started it. Just had lunch here, the food was really good! It's essentially like a Mediterranean chipotle. The food was fresh & very tasty. The seasoning on the mushrooms was excellent and I loved the texture and flavor of the couscous. Pricing & portions are very fair -- if you get a bowl, it's around $13 and really packed full. You get a pita on the side as well. Can definitely split it up into 2-3 meals. Additionally, service was excellent. The gentleman helping us was incredibly nice & helpful. He also let us try samples to help decide what we wanted. I appreciated him very much. Overall an excellent spot to support. read more

Omg wow !!! Like holy cow wow . This food is beyond delicious. like... I have no words for how happy my tastebuds are when I get food from here . There are tons of options , the food is so fresh it's crazy! All the flavors and textures ... this food is such a tasty treat and it's healthy ! Haha!! This place is a win/win. Pretty impressed. I ordered the bowl with brown grain and rice with original hummus and tabouleh salad mix pickles and cured cabbage with the meat. It was amazing. Full of flavor and just the right amount. I also ordered dolmas and I was impressed. The food here is fresh and just delightful. The wild berry lemonade wasn't that good though but this place is still deserving of 5 stars. I ordered through this app and my delivery came 20 minutes before expected time. The driver was quick and friendly also which helped with this whole process. I will definitely be coming back here to get some more good food. Great job! read more

I can't believe this has 152 reviews at 5 stars I suspect those reviews were purchased. The gentleman who answered sounded sweet and kind but the food was no where as authentic as his accent. It was a real turnoff to enter the venue and see only a service counter armed with two helpful high schoolers but the whole "kitchen" was hidden behind closed doors with no windows to display what I hoped would have been shawarma meat spits. Even if the configuration of the operation was different, the food is not even a 2 star review as my wife took one bite and ended up making a PB&J for dinner. Advice to owner put a giant window to showcase the kitchen and meat preparation. Sorry if this sounds mean; my intent is to honestly cast my impression against tidal wave of 5 star reviews. read more

The pickled veggies balanced the heavy meat and rice items perfectly to round out the meal. We also tried the jasmine yuzu tea drink and the homemade yoghurt which ended the meal nicely. Hummus Way Oh man, I was really blown away by where this place is located--kind of hidden in the suburbs, but a real gem. My partner and I found it refreshing that they were open on Sunday, according to the sign outside, and it was a new discovery for us. When we arrived, there was a couple in front of us. Based on their questions, they didn't seem like locals, which isn't a problem, but I did notice the server seemed to be taking extra time with them. At first, I was a little concerned but then thought, "Oh my God, maybe we'll get this level of attentiveness too!" This is a family-run place, so I was excited. However, when it was our turn, the experience felt rushed. We appreciate efficiency, but the food was absolutely amazing--out of this world. The options were unique and beautiful, and the server was kind, but there was a noticeable difference in how we were treated compared to the family in front of us. They seemed to be given special treatment, which raised concerns about whether our race or the way we looked was a factor in how we were treated. As consumers, we believe that everyone should receive equal treatment, and it made us uncomfortable to think that our appearance or background might have influenced the service. That said, this place is still a hidden gem, super clean, and committed to great ingredients. We still rate it 5 out of 5, but I hope they'll be mindful of the way all customers are treated. Upon entering the restaurant, we were greeted warmly by the owner, who was very welcoming and helpful. They even offered us some samples to try, which was a nice touch. We ordered two bowls and a lemonade, but unfortunately, the experience did not meet our expectations. The portion sizes were quite small, and there was very little chicken in the bowls. For the price we paid, we felt that the value was lacking, as there are other places that offer larger portions and better quality food at a similar price point. Additionally, the food appeared to be pre-cooked, and we weren't sure how long it had been sitting there, which raised concerns about freshness. The homlemonade, which seemed to consist mainly of coloring and sugar, was priced at $5.75 plus tax, which we also found to be overpriced. I cannot express how thankful I am for Hummus Way. I am allergic to wheat, dairy, and soy, so trying new restaurants is a really stressful experience for me. However, when I walked into Hummus Way and said my allergies, instead of the usual "what's soy" question, Sameer knew exactly what foods I could eat, and what was in everything. He was also very funny and nice; I was there with two others and he was making us all laugh. This was the first non stressful (and purely enjoyable) experience I've ever had at a new restaurant ever. The food was incredible and will be in regular rotation for me and my girlfriend. The garlic sauce that comes with the zucchinis would be good on everything so get on that and get extra. The staff/owners were so kind, warm, and generous. Truly great experience all around. My gf and I both got the open face pita with falafel. Everything we added to the pita was amazing and the zesty feta was a big stand out. Highly recommend the Moroccan hot sauce on the side.
