This place has absolutely amazing food! The flavor of the different types of hummus are amazing! I tried the chicken and also really enjoyed that! I like that they also had multiple types of greens you can use for the base of the salad! Only downside (and reason for 1 star off) is the price. I spent almost $14 on one salad, and that's without any add ons! Really pricy, but to be fair you can definitely tell the quality of the food is amazing! read more

Walking into the store I noticed everything was very neat and clean. It's also very simple and cute. I was greeted by an employee named Mena who was very helpful in giving us information on the food. I ordered a Pita with Harissa Hummus and Traditional Hummus, Vegan Beef, Crispy Garbanzo Beans, cucumber, Grandma Hot Sauce, and a grilled jalepeño on the side. I also ordered their sweet potato fries. It's was Soooooooo good. ( I forgot his name but it starts with an A ) was very kind to us and made sure to ask if we were doing okay or needed anything else. I also recommend trying the Turmeric Ginger Lemonade. The Cucumber Jalapeño Lemonade scared me at first but surprisingly it was very good! If you get the chance I recommend the Tahini Shake, it's vegan! Today I also tried their Lychee Lemonade and I fell in love! Probably my new favorite. Pita chips are amazing freshly made. Came in on 6/5 when stores just reopening just to check out the menu. Owner was warm and friendly and asked us to wait for fresh falafel to sample. We had this place cater for our office a while back and it was really delicious so I decided to pick it up for dinner tonight. The food was just as tasty although I was given the original hummus instead of the harissa that I ordered. The location is also not the greatest. It's on San Fernando Rd. Next door to tender greens, so no quick parking. You will need to find a lot to park in and on stroll over to SF Rd. Which is fine, I prefer to pick up n go asap. Working in Burbank and looking for a gluten free lunch. Mediterranean is typically a safe bet, but falafel can be hit or miss. Hummus Republic did not disappoint! I ordered a bowl with a salad base, two hummus varietals and tatziki for my three scoops, falafel and cucumber salad. Soooo good! I also added the crispy chickpeas, grilled jalapeños and eggplant. You pay extra, but wow it was tasty. I was very pleased with the associates knowledge of what was gluten free and what was cross-contaminated. He offered to prepare my toppings in the back, which I thought was very considerate. The store was clean, the music a good volume, and overall a great atmosphere for lunch. I have to say it pains me to leave only 2 stars but I have no choice. I've been here 3 times and the food is actually delicious. HOWEVER every single time the chicken is COLD! The last time I was there I specifically asked if the chicken was warm and he told me no probably not. I asked why they don't keep the chicken hot and he told me it's because all the rest of the ingredients are cold so it's not needed. Really? So is that how Chipotle works or even TAP across the street? No. Sorry to say I won't be back unless they change that. read more

I was quite happy with the variety of vegetarian options. The service was quick and the food was fresh and very flavorful. When you walk into this place you are greeted by a huge menu hanging overhead, so right away you see the ample options available. To start you choose between a bowl, pita, or wrap, and from then you choose the rest of the toppings in an assembly line type fashion. I love Mediterranean food, and going off of the smell of the place and the great Yelp reviews I did not expect to be disappointed. In addition, all the ingredients, sauces and proteins looked fresh and visually appealing. I opted for the pita with tatziki, zesty feta dip, harissa hummus. My protein: chicken schwarma. I topped it off with pickled onions, tabbouleh, white cabbage salad, with roasted pepper tahini. Sounds great, right? Unfortunately it was not. Overall it was incredibly underwhelming. The flavors all kinda blended into 1 lackluster "Mediterranean taste." Now, by no means was this bad, or inedible, but nothing about it was exciting or tasty. I even opened the pita to pick out specific components to taste them individually, and none of them really popped; they were alright at best. The only redeeming factor was that I didn't feel guilty after eating this because it was fresh and it was real food. The portion they served was great too. With that said the service was great! My friend and I met in Burbank this evening for dinner and stopped by this place for dinner. Wow. I got the bowl with the Chicken Schwarma. This place is a construction type restaurant like Subway and Chipolte. Once you choose pita, bowl or wrap, you choose everything that builds it. I found the taste superb and the bowl was one of the best I have had in a long time. This place had so much potential but it fell just a little short. The portions are great, super satisfying and the food tastes really good. They have good vegan options but their vegan beef is not tasty. The fried chickpeas, however, are killer. Overall food flavor and portions are about a 4.7/5 The atmosphere and service leaves something to be desired... for sure. The custodian was working in the kitchen while they cooked the food and was constantly dropping things (which my clumsy ass can relate to) but at one point she dropped the bread and looked at the owner and asked "Should I throw this away or can we use it?" I was kind of shocked that she was allowed to work near food. In addition, the man serving me was dry and clearly wanted to avoid any interaction beyond the absolute necessary. Absolutely amazing, flavorful food and great customer service! This came up on yelp when searching for vegan options in Burbank and decided to try it! One of the staff was extremely helpful, I believe he might be the owner or manager. He gave me a falafel to sample while I waited in line for a short time. I then asked him for recommendations since it was my first time, and helped me pick out my options for my bowl while explaining them to me. He made sure to accommodate my needs and dietary restrictions. The food was amazing, delicious and filling and worth it's price point. Which is about $12 for the standard bowl.
