Honestly, I forgot I went to this place until someone liked my pic I uploaded a while back. I maybe getting older and losing my memory or this place was just forgettable. I came here because Yelp recommended this hot and new spot, also I was on keto and looking to eat healthier. I have been waiting not-so-patiently for this place to open since I saw the sign. It's a chain, so I was able to go online and see what it was all about and then I started getting Instagram ads for their Grand Opening that they had on 8/9 yesterday. $3 pitas, bowls, and baguettes?! Count me in! You choose what you want to eat and then customize it. They have TONS of lemonade options, by the way. We just got regular, but there was a lavender, I think, that I'll have to try next time. The restaurant is really cute. They have a TON of vegan options!! I was so stoked to come in. I was slightly less stoked when I got to the line. I have a very severe cabbage allergy--I can't even eat thins like kale that are in the same family. All of the lettuces were mixed together, so I couldn't have the spinach. Okay, fine. I was going to load up on toppings. There was red cabbage in the tabbouleh. I LOVE tabbouleh. I asked for them to grab it from the other side. I still got a rash. It was enough cross contamination, I guess. They gave me way too much sauce considering I didn't get any of the spinach that I wanted, but it would have been fine with it, I think. I'm happy this place is on San Fernando. It's a welcome addition to the neighborhood. I'm always happy for healthy fast food options--especially more vegan options. I'm also hopeful that the cross contamination won't be an issue when they're not super swamped. I'll definitely be back. My first tine trying this place and drove all the way from the Montebello area. I was not disappointed! My friend and I chose to build our own bowl where you can pretty much sample anything and everything! All good was fresh, pleasing to the eye and delicious! Excellent new Middle Eastern lunch spot in downtown Burbank. I came in here this morning to check it out and the owner gave me a falafel sample which was tasty. They also let me try the braised veggies with mushrooms and onions which was delicious! I came back this afternoon to get a side of them and sat down to eat and it was very good and healthy!! He gave me samples of everything! Next time, I will get a bowl with kalamata hummus, lemon chicken ( I tried that too and it's yummy) pomegranate kale salad and tahini dressing. Good lemonade too! Tried out Hummus Republic with some coworkers recently. A couple people on the team are big fans of vegan food, so were very excited to try it. And, I'm always up to trying new food from a highly reviewed place. We all ordered the bowls. The portions were quite good, the hummus selections were delicious, the salad was fresh, the chickpeas were fine, and the chicken that I had on mine was good and very well flavored. I did enjoy the meal, but also found it to be a bit pricey for what you get. Customer service was also excellent, and I wish them lots of success. Areas of improvement are that the cous cous tasted a bit dry, and I would probably just get chick peas next time. The portion of chicken that they gave was quite small, and that was the best part of meal. Lastly, we also ordered a couple sides of the pita chips. Some of the chips were delicious and crispy, but some of them were also rubbery and not fully baked. The inconsistency there was a bit disappointing. Overall, a good place to go back to, and it you like Vegan food, this would be right up your alley. read more

This restaurant is located in the heart of downtown Burbank on San Fernando, right in the heart of where all the shops and restaurants are, and close to the AMC theater. I found parking a couple blocks away, there's street parking and free parking lots off of San Fernando. I was greeted by a friendly staff member who happily walked me through how it worked there and every step of the process, since it was my first time. It's Chipotle-style for Greek food. I got a bowl with a base of 1/2 spring mix and 1/2 warm chickpeas. I got lemon chicken as my protein; they have falafel, steak, and other options (including a vegan option). You then choose three dips/spreads and I got spicy hummus, olive hummus, and eggplant hummus. Toppings - there are a ton of options and I pretty much got all of the free ones, everything from kale salad mixture to beets to cabbage to jalapenos; my bowl was stacking up higher and higher! The final step is choosing how you want it dressed - I got traditional tahini. Once my bowl was finally complete, I was STOKED to try it, but also scared because it was towering so high so I wasn't sure how to mix everything without ingredients falling off. Everything was delicious and it's a huge portion. I could only eat 1/2 and saved the rest for later. I do have to say, after I had my lunch here, my stomach was pretty upset. I think it was just protein overload from so much hummus and the base of 1/2 chickpeas too. Something to note, just because it says you can choose 3 dips/hummuses, doesn't mean you need to get all 3! WOW the service at this place was awesome!! We came here on a Saturday evening and were greeted and served immediately! As soo as we walked up to look at the menu, the owner let us sample the house made pita chips (which were deliciously crispy) and answered all of our questions. I ordered the bowl and got quinoa, spring mix, kalamoata olives, half falafel and lemon chicken, cucumber salad, both cabbage salads, olives, feta, crispy chickpeas, traditional hummus, eggplant hummus, and tatziki. I know it sounds like a lot (because it was) but it was ALL INCLUDED! Unlimited and CLEARLY fresh toppings is reeeeaally hard to find at "build your own" restaurants these days and I really appreciated that they had this. The falafel was perfectly crunchy on the outside and flavorful on the inside. The lemon chicken was also super flavorful and not dry at all (was which is a common issue with chopped chicken). They also had a variety of housemade lemonades that were super unique flavors. I had the turmeric ginger lemonade and LOVED IT. I will definitely be back to this place. Staff was incredibly friendly and patiently walked us through the process on how to make our orders. Welcome to the latest Mediterranean-ish franchise. If Cava invites comparison to Chipotle, then Hummus Republic screams Subway, right down to its unlimited toppings. Now I love Subway and used to eat it twice a day, but I never had the best sandwich of my life there. Expect the same here. If you need a filling, flavorful meal in a clean setting, on the other hand, come right in. The employees will all be helpful and franchise-nice. But, LA does not lack great pita-wrapped food, and if you are looking for the best (imo) I would start with Joe's Falafel, Rodini Park, or Tel Aviv Grill. Happy eating. read more

Really enjoyed my experience here! This location opened yesterday and it has a very clean and modern interior. As soon as we walked in, we were offered a falafel sample and greeted by a nice staff. The menu is very expansive and has A LOT of options from various protein options (plenty of vegan and gluten free options) and multiple types of hummus and toppings. Customizing your bowl/pita/sandwich to your preferences is easy. Everything I sampled was super tasty and the staff was very accommodating and generous with samples and recommendations. My only critique is that it's a little bit on the pricier side (about $12 for a basic bowl) but the quality of the food is really good. I'd understand if it was rocking, but there were 3 people in front of us and 3 tables occupied. After we got our food, a few others trickled in, so there was plenty of time to regroup and clean the place up. Opted for bowls and while the food is probably fresh, the appearance of the prep area didn't start well. Lots of options and they offer unlimited toppings, but there are up-charges for a few items. Ridiculously small potion of protein is offered. The bowl was fine, but nothing special. They have some good lemonades, but a couple were nearly empty and never replenished. Out of knives. Just a poor showing. Guaranteed there are people that will love this place, but I am not one of them and cannot recommend. read more

YUM! As a newly converted vegetarian, I found EXACTLY what I was looking for here! The Earth Burger is made from their delicious falafel on a toasted bun with some scrumptious toppings (pickles, red onions, etc.; I asked for no ketchup). It comes with sweet potato fries (I prefer regular fries but they don't have them). These were waffle fries and pretty damn tasty. I also got a side of hummus, which is excellent. I got a build-your-own bowel and had leftovers for the next day's lunch. Ambiance is relaxed, clean and casual. The service was my favorite part. The gentleman helping us was super friendly, patient (it was our first time) and so helpful. He explained everything, described all the ingredients and choices and offered to give us samples of anything we wanted, which was a really nice surprise in post-Covid eating. I love the concept of this restaurant! It is just like cava or like a Mediterranean chipotle, but it is slightly more expensive. I loved the options, but I did not like how they charge you extra for certain kinds of meats without telling you before you order it (just a little bothered by that). Otherwise, I thought everything else was great! You can choose between pita or bowl which comes with a base of salad, cous cous, or garbanzo beans. Then they take you to a variety of different kinds of hummus, proteins, and then the different toppings and you can definitely get all of them, like I did! Well, the people who work here are very nice, and the place is kept clean. But... The sauces, even those not strong, are completely overpowering: I told them to go easy, and had I not known and saw them put chicken shawarma in my pita, I couldn't tell you what protein I was putting down. I told them a little of the hot sauce, a little of the tahini, and it was just slathered on. So, I asked my dining partners (who didn't get the paint-job of sauce) what they thought, and they also said it was maybe a 4 or 5 to 1 ratio, toppings to protein. Also, as of now, your only choice to drink are variations of lemonade. Even the restaurant that's actually named Lemonade has more drink options. This is apparently still the "soft opening" and on Friday the 9th they're advertising everything for $3 during lunch...for this kind of meal, that's a price I can get behind. This place can be a lot better if they fix a few things. The ingredients are fresh and the concept is good however a few of their items are not what they seem.. The "couscous" is actually cracked bulgur wheat which is a different food and if someone doesn't know and happens to be allergic it can be a real problem. Bulgur is also cheaper than couscous. Pretty bold of them to claim one item is another, maybe they figure you wouldn't be able to tell after burying the base with toppings and sauce? The "roasted garbanzo beans" are definitely deep fried and not roasted. They do taste good though. The fried eggplant slices I got were burned to a crisp which made them inedible. Disappointing if you were in the mood for some fried eggplant. All in all It was ok. Most items were bland and dry but improved with the toppings and sauces. read more
