Lamb shawarma sandwich, Hummus and Pita, Gyro Salad

The food here is super tasty. Full of flavor, hummus was so so smooth. I have been here twice and would keep coming back. The owners were super nice, very attentive. The space is open and welcoming.

Wow I loved this place. The owners are Egyptian and its family operated! The amount of food you get and the quality for the price is unbeatable. I really enjoy the remodel, it's a nice and clean place to be. The gyro was sooooo good, my photo isn't great because I got my food to go but it shows just how much volume you get in the pita.

Placed an order for a gyro plate which came with two sides - I chose rice and fries. The total ended up being around $18. The order took about 15 minutes to prep and when I got it, it was a good portion. The gyms were covered in a yogurt cucumber sauce which I didn't know came on it. The rice was a little oily - not sure if it was from the rice or the gyros. I think my favorite item from Hummus cafe were the fries - they were perfectly salty and crispy. Overall Hummus cafe food was probably a 3.5/5. Service was nothing special and overall just an okay shop considering everything.

Lamb and Beef Gyro Combo Plate with fries and baba ghanoush. (Side order of falafel in back, you get three)

I haven't lived in Seattle long, but I'm noticing there are a lot of places that serve gyros here, and being a former Chicagoan that makes my heart so happy! The lamb & beef gyros combo plate: EXCELLENT!!! Wow, I usually expect gyros to be a bit dry and I don't mind, but these were actually a bit juicy, which made them so much more delicious! And the sauce! Oh yeah, that's the cucumber sauce I know and love! Fries were decent, baba ghanoush was wonderful, pita was soft and warm. Chicken shwarma combo plate: This was ok. The chicken shwarma didn't seem like others I've had, kinda bland little bits with no char. It was, I don't know... ok I hate to say it, but it was boring. Same with the rice. Hummus was good but it needed a bit of salt so I just added some in and boom, it was better (I don't normally add salt to anything). Falafel was very unique. I can't decide if I like it or not. There's a flavor I can't pinpoint that hit me at first bite, and I didn't like it, but as I chewed, it got better and I could enjoy the parsley & other usual delicious flavors of falafel. The falafel is bigger and more moist than others I've had as well. I'm definitely coming back for more gyros, baba ghanoush, and hummus! And I might want to try their Turkish coffee and desserts as well.

They are slightly pricier than competitors, but their falafels are worth it. Well seasoned and properly cooked.

We ordered the lamb shank and kofta (Iraqi kebab). Each dish comes with your choice of rice or salad. We chose rice (the server informed us that rice will come with a bit of salad, but if you choose salad it won't come with any rice). We liked the spices that they used and the meat was so flavourful.

This…read morewas exciting to me as I enjoy food from the Middle Eastern part of the world, and the entrees do look very enticing! We went on a Saturday around 2pm and it wasn't too busy at the takeout window. The restaurant is only takeout - there are benches right next to the takeout window, but there are only enough spots for 8 - 12 people (2-3 people per bench). The only other seating is at the nearby street seating offered by the neighboring bars, which I can see being restricted during peak hours. Parking can be very difficult if you plan on driving, there is only street side parking that is usually full, and nearby paid parking in lots. Service is fast, after we got our order, we only waited 5-8 minutes for our food. We got their recommended Soujouk (Beef) and Cheese Wrap for $16. The wrap is long, I would say about 13 - 14 inches long, and I can definitely seeing most people getting full after enjoying one of these. The flavors are nice and you can taste the spices from the sausage - I could taste cinnamon front and center with other earthy spices lingering in an aftertaste. The wrap is very decadent, the cheese is hearty and indulgent and that with the spiced sausage and textural difference with the cucumbers is pleasing. Do note with how indulgent this wrap is, you will accumulate a ton of oil in your wrapper as you enjoy it - a nap afterwards is in your future if you eat a whole wrap! I think that Yalla Seattle is a good stop to try these cuisines in a casual manner and the price is reasonable. There are some other items on the menu that kept my attention and I would totally revisit to try the other items offered by this restaurant.

Yalla is a walk up window, and there are just a couple of benches right outside where you can eat, and according to other reviews you can also go to Montana Bar next door with your food. The menu is posted in a couple places right next to the ordering window, and it's pretty easy to parse. Almost everything there is what I'd consider a "portable food", meaning something you don't need a plate, fork, and knife to eat, which makes sense given that it's not a sit down restaurant. They have veggie saj, meaty saj, mezze, a few sides, and a dessert. I really like their concise menu. We tried the baba ghanoush ($9.5), which comes with saj on the side, a batinjan and labneh saj wrap ($12), and a halloumi grilled cheese (halloumi grilled inside saj, $13). As you can tell, the saj underpins everything at Yalla, and their saj is excellent. Warm, soft, flaky, and tearable, it is perfect for both dipping and wrapping and grilling. The batinjan and labneh wrap is bursting (literally) with tender grilled eggplant, a rich sauce, and tangy, creamy labneh. It is truly one of the most delicious eggplant dishes I've ever had. The halloumi grilled cheese definitely hits the spot, and is more filling than you think by looking at it. Baba ghanoush is so smooth and flavorful, and I love the pomegranate seeds on top! The folks who work there are super nice, very friendly, and food comes out quickly. Prices are very reasonable, and I will definitely be back to try some of their meaty saj! This place is going into my regular rotation, for sure.

We had to have the green chile sauce on the side of the asparagus dish cause of my friend but that was ok we were putting it in other items we loved it so much. Also the whipped garlic that came with the chicken and beef was a big hit! We had never had Lebanese wine and enjoyed our selections. Love that it felt like a healthier meal with the vegetables and spreads. Didn't feel stuffed after but definitely satisfied.
