Mr. Gyros made lunch for us today!
    Channing C.

Mr.Gyros provided lunch for a work function I had today. Thanks to them, lunch was great! I had never had Mr. Gyros before, but knowing how close they are to where I live, I will have to stop in to experience their whole menu. I had the lamb gyro with a side of Greek fries. Everything was delicious and the ingredients were fresh. I especially loved the soft and pillowy pita bread. Sammy was our guy today and he was so kind and awesome. It was amazing to see him make food for a little over 100 people all by himself. We all enjoyed our food. Mr. Gyros is A+ for me!

If you're feeling like eating feel food, this may be the place for you! I don't believe there is parking other than the street, but if you live near is a nice little walk! They have vegetarian options which u definitely appreciate! And more than one choice. I had the Greek salad, not sure why it was kinda watery? Maybe from the Lettuce? But it's was yummy! The portion size was just right!

Quick and fast to go counter with falafel and meat gyro options. The sandwiches are $8 and platters (comes with salad, rice, hummus, protein) are $12. Street parking

I've been craving a Chicken Shawarma Sandwich and MR. GYROS in Wallingford helped to satisfy that craving today. Eating it with some Greek Fries was an extra tasty bonus. Mr. Gyros is a nice fast food option. Their sandwiches are loaded with the meat of your choice and veggies. They also have vegetarian options, salads, and combination plates. They make really good gyros, shawarma, and falafel. Check out their 2 Seattle locations in the Ballard and Wallingford neighborhoods for some quick and delicious Mediterranean food. I better end this post now to hit the gym and burn off some of those extra calories, lol. It was so worth it though!!!

I came during a busy night where there was a small line, delivery and pick up order coming in. There was one staff who was working HARD! Cooking and multi-tasking! Super dedicated to getting out all of this food. He did amazing, thank you for your hard work! I really enjoyed the food too (gyro plate). I forgot to get baba so I need to go back!

Just being selfish but I wish their portions were bigger!!! Because it's that good.. and with the olives, this girl might have to request extra olives because it is toooo bomb!! I love a good ass, fresh gyro salad, and this place got it. Super friendly staff. I have yet to try their gyro sandwiches if I'm feeling up for the carbs lol! But this place is def. worth trying :) Right next to Hawaiian general store, street parking only.

Falafel was also fresh and cone shaped, made into that shape using an interesting stamp-like tool. Price was right too--the gyro sandwich and 2 falafel to go was only just over $13! Service was slow ngl, however, the old couple running the place were sooo cute I can excuse it. They were so friendly, warm, and nice; it gave off auntie and uncle vibes. Another customer in front of me must've been a regular because when the customer made conversation at the takeout window, I heard one of the workers go "We love you, John!!!" Only ordered from the to go window so cannot speak to the ambiance inside.

On one super rainy day, my partner and I were walking by and spontaneously decided to go up to the little window and get one lamb gyro the guy at the window, who I didn't know was the owner, looked at us weird and at first I was like ???? but after 5 min of prepping our order he calls us back to the window and hands us TWO gyros and says "you can't just get one! there are two of you! you won't feel full!" and he hands us both, one on the house I was so shocked it was so kind and unexpected of him. We ended up eating outside right under the window and 2 min later the owner walks out with a slice of bread and starts feeding the ducks outside the store. He told us that they're a couple and that they come by every year to lay eggs and they visit him every night for dinner during this time. He also told us that Cedars of Lebanon has been open for over 40 years and that it used to be so rowdy and exciting. So many people would gather around and spend time in his restaurant but now it's a lot quieter (I'm assuming this is because new, more novel places have been popping up on the Ave). I left this conversation so touched and full of love for this man, I genuinely wish him the best. His unprompted kindness towards a complete stranger and willingness to spend time chatting with us alone makes this place 5 stars for me, so many places lack this kind of passion and love that we could really use more of. this happened almost a year ago but I wanted to share my experience to highlight how wonderful of a man the owner is, hopefully we can continue to have nice things and no one abuses his kindness anyway I wanna go back and try their falafel apparently it's super good

There was ample enough portions to accommodate everyone's appetite for this glorious food. This meal will be remembered as a wonderful part of a memorable night. Thanks so much Homer!

However after we expressed that we didn't want to wait that long, we were told that if we wanted outdoor seating they could actually seat us in less than half an hour. We chose the outdoor seating option and took a quick stroll in the quiet neighborhood before coming back. Our server told us that Homer's plates are meant to be family style and shared so their general recommendation is 1 large plate or 2 small plates per person. For us, we ordered the Set of top 3 spreads, lamb ragu on tahini and we were served with 5 pieces of warm pita. We also ordered Grilled Pork with Stinging nettles, raw albacore tuna with taramasalata, and smoked and shaved kohlrabi. Our server warned us that the pork was going to be on the fatty side but we were still surprised by how fatty it was. The spreads for the pita were amazing as usual-- their seasonal flavors taste amazingly fresh. Our table wanted to order more pita and when someone came by to take the empty plate they asked if we wanted more which we did let them know but even by the time we finished all the plates, we never got the additional pita so we just took it off. The Kohlrabi was an amazingly refreshing palette cleanser before the pork-- super light and refreshing. After we finished our meal we grabbed some soft serve from the window and wow, for 7$ it's quite a lot of ice cream! The flavors that were offered when we were there was Dark Chocolate and Kettlekorn. I sampled the swirl and the fusion of the saltiness of the kettle korn, the slight bitter and sweetness of the dark chocolate was immaculate. Final thoughts: very cool experience, inside I could see the open kitchen and the stone wood fired oven and the ingredients tasted amazing. However it is a little inconvenient that it's walk in unless you're a party of 6 since the lines and wait can get incredibly long. It's also difficult to find parking in the area. Very neat experience!

Baba Ghanouj, Bisara Munir, Arnabeet, Alhalaioun and the chicken and beef Shish Taouk. Everything was delicious. Flavorful, the proteins were cooked perfectly nice and tender. Ended up sampling 3 of their wrap options and the Zaatar Wrap was deliciously nutty and fragrant, but texturally there was so many herbs that the center ate a little dry. The Lahme Khuruf (Lamb) was my favorite by far with super juicy ground meat with some tang from the labneh, sweetness, freshness from the tomato, and texture from the pine nuts. Absolute home run on this one! The Awarma and Cheese was a close second, but personally, the flavor profile was just a little less interesting than the lamb.
