This is probably the worst shop and customer service I have encountered in my life…read more I received a gift card for Utopia as a gift, and decided to use it today. However, the staff there told me there was no record of the gift card and claimed the gift card did not exist in the system after checking some index card file she had at the desk. She then questioned the origins of the card and told me to go get a receipt for the purchase of the gift card. Why do I need to present a receipt for the gift card I received as a gift? This was so laughably outrageous that I left. Don't patronize this shop, they take the cash from gift card sales and refuse to honor the gift card when you try to redeem it. It is a total scam. They take your money and pretend the gift card doesn't exist. I would not recommend even setting foot in this unreasonable store.

One of the workers was very helpful in explaining their coffee selection and how it was roasted. Yes, some items still have a mark up, but you're paying for the convenience of all the stuff being in one place. They can't exactly draw you in with a loss leader. Redmond Town Center is comparable to the updated Totem Lake area in Kirkland or University Village in Seattle. Not as cramped as most regional shopping mall destinations. Except for the Tesla booth, no one even bothered greeting us... yes, we brought our cute 7-month-old puppy with us. The music booth planted in the middle of everything was so loud it became obnoxious. Then there was the puppy booth with zero signage -- are they selling puppies or are they a rescue? No clue. The only visible sign said "not fully vaccinated," which raises the question: WHY are the puppies there to begin with? They shouldn't be there as a petting zoo, exposed to random dogs. There were maybe around 10 booths total, and at least 3 of them were just photo-op booths. The "doggy care" booth was especially confusing... what exactly are they even selling? Their setup also had real estate advertising mixed in. Overall, it felt poorly organized, underwhelming, and more geared toward Instagram photos than actual pet community engagement.

The woman I spoke with did provide the information I was looking for, but her tone came across as unnecessarily short and somewhat snobbish. She made comments along the lines of, "You should just bring your pearl here so we can look," and, "You don't even know the names of the parts you're looking for." I understood what she was trying to imply--that bringing the pearl in would make it easier for them to identify the appropriate components--but there's definitely a more helpful and welcoming way to phrase that, especially when someone is new to jewelry making and simply trying to learn. I'll continue going to the store, as my previous experiences have been positive, but this interaction was disappointing.
