Alright... I think I've been more than generous in the time I've waited since speaking with the owner/creator/chef of this restaurant, Jorge Gomez. Jorge listened to what I shared and told me he needed time to speak with the staff and get back to me. But he never did. What's worse is when we spoke, he wasn't even apologetic. He was also rude & condescending. It was clearly busy at the restaurant and I offered for us to speak at another time & his response to me was "of course it's busy, you chose to call during dinner." Oh I'm sorry, had you returned ANY of my messages I wouldn't have to call at this time. He had the same narrative script that his horrible manager had... defending that they CAN accommodate 8 people, just not seated together, as well as this insane claim about the furniture. You had no other patrons outside but us, and we couldn't move two chairs to either end of the table of six?! He didn't care that she slammed dishes down in front of us or told me my son wasn't allowed out of his seat. They have good food, but they are absolutely delusional in other areas, and have zero customer service skills. read more

Such a CUTE restaurant. Perfect for a first date, 78th date, girls' night, birthday dinner, or anything in between really. We happened to go for a friend's birthday dinner and we will definitely be back! Do yourself a favor and get the Cremini Sachetti! This dish had everything I love--ricotta, mushrooms, truffle, brown butter, and garlic. It's creamy, deeply rich, and so flavorful. The Cremini Sachetti does not come with a protein, so I added short rib to mine. I half-expected to be disappointed with dry short rib, but was pleasantly surprised that it was very tender. The flavor didn't overpower the already amazing flavor profile and made a great addition to the pasta. I also had the Hello Peaches cocktail. At the very first taste, it tasted too artificially syrupy, but the aftertaste was really nice. The more I drank it, the more I liked it (and it's not just because of the alcohol haha). Our family visited last weekend. We were extremely impressed with the friendly staff! The ambience was very warming including a fire place on patio. Pizza was fabulous as was the short rib pasta! Hands down, Humble Bistro is one of my favorite restaurants to visit! I really hate that they're only two locations and I'm a nice distance away from both of them. I have yet to be disappointed in a meal from here. This visit, I tried the maximus humble pie and those camarones...OH MY GOODNESS!!! Thank you to my waiter that recommended the camarones as an appetizer. Everything was so delicious to the point where I wanted to over eat, but decided against it. Everything came out hot, was full of flavor and made me very happy when I was done eating. Keep up the fantastic job Humble Bistro, hopefully you'll expand to the Central Phoenix area at some point. read more

Went today to try this place out... although I love the cute vibe, I was just not impressed. I paid $16.00 for a margarita that was all juice. The service took forever. It was not overly busy, I've seen worse and just was very slow and unorganized. I guess the bartender was new, not sure if she was new to the restaurant or bartending all together but I know a good margarita & Sadly this was not it. Humble bistro has delicious options on their appetizer menu. I've tried most of them and the portions to me are just right. My favorites are the meatballs, the hummus, the wings, the caprese salad, and for entree the short rib paperdelle. Their happy hour menu is reasonable. Their drinks are delicious as well and reasonable prices. The ambiance is superb. I love the French bistro style theme, the outside patio is so cute. The service is friendly and courteous, and attentive during most of the time I've been there. I've celebrated my birthday there. We've had Easter brunch there. My friends and family and I enjoy coming to this place. FYI, they do not serve any hot drinks not even hot water so now I just bring a hot water thermos for my Dad because he only drinks hot water. read more

I don't know how we are just finding out about this place, but I'm excited we're here to check it out on a Sunday afternoon for brunch. Love the vibe, atmosphere, decor, music, and the gorgeous patio. I'm really intrigued by the design inside (industrial, retro, Edison lighting, dark decor with gold accents, and a hint of Italy). Hubby ordered the carne eggs Benedict. It was really intriguing to have the French egg scramble on top rather than the traditional poached egg. The hollandaise wasn't overly spicy, and meats were well seasoned and cooked. The potatoes were a little more salty than he usually prefers, but he still enjoyed them, and I loved them (finished the ones he didn't). I ordered the Belgian waffle and berries. They were pearled sugar waffles and it made the edges crisp while the center stayed lightly chewy. Oh my were they delicious! And the creamy ricotta on top?!? Absolutely spectacular! The waffles were sweet enough without the syrup, but of course I had to try it since it's house made. It was good thickness and not overly sweet. When I saw the English muffins for the Benny's are housemade sourdough, I had to ask if I could get one on the side. It was chewy and nicely buttered. A little jam would have been the icing on top! Our server was great and the hostess was so friendly. Everyone that came to the table (dropping off food or drinks or bussing items) was so helpful and nice. We came on a weeknight and the restaurant was almost empty. The server was knowledgeable about the menu and offered good suggestions. The homemade pasta was great but very salty. Always passed this place, but never thought of trying it until last night. It absolutely was worth the visit because the food was delicious! We got the Not So Humble Brussel Sprouts, Cremini Sachetti, and the Short Rib Pappardelle. All dishes were full of flavor and our service was up to par! I went to this restaurant last night for the very first time. I was meeting a very good friend of mine that I hadn't seen in a very long time. We ordered some food and my friend had two glasses of wine. We sat and talked for quite a while since it had been so long. After we had been there exactly 3 hours the hostess came over and asked us to leave our table. She suggested we take our conversation to the bar if we wanted to stay. My friend and I were really caught off guard and we just got up and left. It was embarrassing though, because other people were looking at us and probably wondering why the hostess came and talk to us and we left immediately left. In my 54 years. I have never been to a restaurant where they ask us to get up and leave our table merely because they had other people that were waiting. I will say that the waiter who had our table was amazing. He did a great job and was very kind. But I will never recommend this restaurant with what happened to my friend and I. I should also add that our meal was $85 and I left a very good tip for the waiter. So it's not like we only came in and shared an appetizer. read more

This was my first experience and while we were outside and it was hot, the food was tasty! I tried the Brussels sprouts app and it was pretty good. I really debated on whether to leave a review after our experience but felt it was the right thing to do. As someone who has had great experiences and broken bread at this restaurant for celebrations, including tonight, I won't be back. We had one of the rudest encounters with both of the hostesses. A hostess should be someone who greets and makes you feel welcome at a restaurant. From the second we asked to be put on the list we could tell something was off. From the attitude in the way she responded and the way she acted inconvenienced. My wife mentioned it but we decided to brush it off and went outside to wait. After about 10 minutes we decided that it may be a good idea to have a drink inside while we wait. Immediately the host again was rude and started telling us it was against policy to seat us at the bar or get us a drink. Eventually she mentioned she could get us a drink if we really wanted it.... Shocked by the approach I asked her "are you good". Her peer immediately jumped in and said "coming from an older guy that's really creepy and you can leave". What??? I asked for the manager which was at first denied until I repeated it. The manager came over but to be honest was not exactly calming nor sympathetic. We ate, and we left. Have been wanting to try Humble Bistro. 4 of us went to dinner on Friday and got there just before 5 pm. We decided to eat indoors because although patio dining looked inviting. It was still a little warm Greeted warmly at reception and seated in a booth in the back. Great atmosphere Booth is large and has lots of space between seating and table William our server was amazing Attentive, knowledgeable, friendly but not cloying Started out with bread appetizer. Quite tasty and very flavorful. Ask William about "pasta in the box". It's a joke we came up with that made him laugh. (It's actually an item on the menu which is listed inside of box lines - not a boxed dish) lol Our main dishes were all flavorful and well prepared. I had pasta with short ribs - delicious ! Only one suggestion lower the pleasant music just a tad - hard to have leisurely conversation. At least where we were sitting We had brownie dessert. It was good but I'm not sure would order again. We were so excited to give this place a try. It absolutely did not disappoint. We were there at lunch and it was quiet and service was exceptional. Our waitress was extremely attentive and ensured our experience was positive. We enjoyed the Four Peaks October fest and two entrees. The shortrib grilled cheese melts in your mouth. I omitted the chipotle mayo and kept the rest! We also ordered the Rosa pasta and meatballs and my husband is still craving going back to get this again. Would recommend a visit and try them out. The food is absolutely fabulous. I have had delicious food in Italy many times as well as in other top notch US Italian restaurants. Humble bistro's food absolutely competes with the best of the BEST of these. Truly, the food is outstanding. Now, the service. Terrible. I have been several times and the hosts are utterly bored with their jobs and I got the impression they were w but annoyed to have to lead me to my table. Once, the hostess was charming and helpful but otherwise this was a poor way to be welcomed by not welcoming me and my party. It then took a very long time to be acknowledged by a server, and while the food came out in a reasonable time, the time between trips to our table were few and far between even though I have consistently visited in early afternoon well after the lunch rush and before even the most early of dinner diners. Despite having maybe 2 tables max, we felt like the servers had better things to do like stared at their fingernails. Given how absolutely stellar the food is, the owners need to improve service and I would start by hiring servers older than 20 (every time our server looked very young. And/or train them better. Your restaurant is not well represented by your staff almost across the board. Now, I HIGHLY recommend the mussels served either style. The special pasta dish that is cream based is beyond all of my expectations (I cannot recall the name of it, but see photo). I wasnt a big fan of the short rib grilled cheese because it was 90% short rib and 10% cheese, I could barely taste or even see the cheese. With that being said, the short rib was perfectly cooked - fork tender, excellent flavor. Give it a try, despite mediocre to poor service at best, you will thank me. read more

I love the atmosphere with the black walls and the chandeliers. They did a really great job with the patio too. The food is delicious. We had the Garden Party Vegan Pizza. It was very tasty although it didn't come with red sauce. Maybe because the red sauce has cheese in it? The cauliflower tahina was delicious as was the charred jalapeño hummus. The wine list is excellent and happy hour is every day. There are some fun creative cocktails on the menu I can't wait to try. Humble Bistro's staff is very friendly too. Worst. Customer. Service. Ever. Arrived with a party of seven. Informed they only had two booths that would accommodate a party of our size. It would be an hour wait. Saw two 4-tops next to one another, empty. Could we have both of those? Yes, "but we can't put the tables together." Go to the tables expecting them to be firmly secured to the floor so you couldn't move them. No, free standing and movable. Flagged a woman working the floor and asked if we could put them together. "NO, our policy is we don't put tables together - we have a small kitchen and can't have too many large orders hitting them." So, put us together and take two orders. "NO!" I comment their policy is stupid. She leaves, then sends out owner or head waiter, not sure. He proceeds to tell me I have no right to argue with his staff, criticize his inane policy, and tells me I'm free to leave his restaurant. So I did, and I'll never go back and tell all of my friends not to as well. read more
