Works, even my sims 4 game connected okay without any connection drops. I think their internet is a good service. My dad got this in January because Internet service is like a basic thing nowadays. Anyways, Went to this office on Saturday August 16th 2025 with my mom and dad because we wanted to get a cable provider. We did research the offerings online, so we knew what we wanted, so to speak. Oh, and they also sell phones, and alarm systems. We are only interested in internet and cable. The woman that took care of us was polite and explained all of our options. She also showed us how the cable worked. For instance, they use a small cable box that one cannot even see. One can also get the firestick and stream it on there also. We opted for the cable boxes though, as we are used to that. Price was actually a little on the expensive side- we also paid for all the tv packages which included Passport and passport plus, that has MSG international so that we can watch the NY Rangers game. As New Yorkers, we like that! Passport has channels like discovery life, paramount- bar rescue anyone?, SCFY, and freeform, to name a few. Channel packages also has plenty of options. Now, haven't watched TV much except for Food that made america on the history channel, but using HTC is easy to figure out. The only thing I cannot figure out is captions, and how to turn them on. So far liking our cable service. Also easy to set up too, and easy to call the tech help number- who can help and did help solve any technical issues. So far recommend HTC internet and cable services! Note: Just editing this to 4 stars because it seems like there is no closed caption option for the cable boxes. For people who are hard of hearing like me, this is an great feature to have. Closed captions we did find on the firestick version however, and I am currently using that with no issues.

BUT, I have problems with the service because of where I live and I have DISH because of where I live- in a cable dessert. The issue isn't that I would have cable TV instead of satellite. The issue is that I would have cable INTERNET instead of satellite. If I had cable internet I would stream all my TV content, maybe use an antenna for local stations, and I wouldn't have a "TV service Provider" per se. Hello 21st century. We have satellite internet (through HughesNet, which I previously reviewed). The signal I get isn't reliable enough to stream video content, so we have to have a TV Service Provider if we want more than just local TV with an antenna. Compared to other TV Service providers I have had, DISH is far and above the best in terms of customer service. They are prompt and professional and communicate extremely well. They are easy to reach on the phone, by email, or online and the people they send to our home are knowledgeable, efficient, and very personable. It can't be easy to have a job going into the home of customers having problems and they do it very well. Today I had a repair at my home (the repair was for HughesNet which contracts out DISH for at least some of their in home repairs for customers like us who have both)- I scheduled it to be between 8 and 12. I received a call and a text message from the service person (Bobby) at 7:45 that he would be here between 8 and 8:15 and he was here as advertised. He was great and easily fixed our (HughesNet) problem.

We recently…read morehad our roof replaced, and had to have a tech come to the house to realign the hardware to the satellite's in space, which I still think is pretty cool in itself. There was a minor glitch in the scheduling, because after my initial appointment was made online, I was offered a "gift" which meant I would receive Epic Movie Package for a month, but once I did that, my package changed overall and my appointment was cancelled. I didn't realize this until waiting through the two hour window for my tech to arrive. Regardless, we got one out the next day and he was very friendly and got out Dish back up and running. As for the package that we have, I don't use the Hopper, because we only want one TV in the house, and the bedrooms should be used for other things rather then watching TV. We use the DVR a lot and have several quality movies and shows (HD & SD) saved which we refer back to from time to time, and honestly, it's the only way that we keep up with our TV shows during the regular seasons. We've considered other options, but I've never been happy with DirecTV and I don't want to lose all of our recordings ;-) As with all home based entertainment providers, I wish the price was better, but we're limited by the quality of the market.

Second, PLEASE do yourself a huge favor and schedule an appointment on line rather than drop in. You wouldn't believe the people cussing at me because I walked in and was immediately called up to be helped. Without an appointment you'd better bring your knitting needles. It's gonna be a while. A long while. Spectrum's pricing on their product lines makes no sense at all. I wanted to reduce my services to internet-only yet, I was told by Bulk Accounts that reducing my service items would increase my bill rather than reduce it. What? I get less but pay more? In what world does this make sense? Ah, that would be Spectrum's world. Seriously, do some research. There are a lot of great options for cutting the cable. I would give one star, but I added the second one for Bryce. He may be the one bright spot at Spectrum. Give the guy a raise.

Spectrum kept the line charge and the device charge open for a year than recently told me that they could've just suspended the line charge every 2 months so I could just pay off the actual device and not be charged for actual phone line (number) I was not using. I was told by the store clerk while trying to upgrade on of my other 2 lines that this was poor ethics on my behalf. I said so charging me for a phone line I'm not using is good ethics. That where I ended the conversation.
