That said,…read moreComcast has cancelled the phone number to the local office, they have all calls routed to a call center not in the United States and with no access to what's occurring in my location. Essentially unless I want to remotely restart my router or order/expand my service this call center accomplishes nothing. The local office has no idea when service will be restored. She did however write my address on a legal pad and circle it multiple times. Because the cable box is in my front yard I have assured the service center that no one has been in my area to fix the issue. The service center assured me they must have sent someone to my location however no clue when or what time they sent anyone. They only know my service is out and it was probably while I was sleeping. The hurricane is an excuse for service to be out however it is not an excuse to have no plan and lousy customer service. SCE&G hired contractors and got 200,000 people's power restored in 3 days. When I called I got a local person with a timeline of what was happening and any obstacles to getting my power back on. Pay attention Comcast because you're failing. Oh and I still have no service and no one has any clue when I may see any service and I can't seem to schedule an appointment either. I think I'll call and ask for new service install see if that gets anyone out here?!?

I called Verizon to switch to FIOS. I was VERY LUCKY to get connected to a wonderful young woman…read more... Corinne....a former New Yorker, now at the South Carolina office. Let me say this: she was AMAZING!!! I had just gotten off the phone with my current provider: ALTICE. [ Now, let me say this: I had been with Cablevision of NJ when cable was brand new. Then it became Optimum. Still no complaints. The price kept edging up higher and higher, but the customer service was nonpareil.... just tops! Then... along came ALTICE! I had to jump through hoops to switch over from Optimum to Altice (which was advertised as something "magical"). Believe me.... pixelation and freezing, no rewind, no instructions... those were bad enough; but then.... I got my bill!!! My monthly bill jumped an additonal $45 because I had switched to Alice! PLUS a CHARGE for installation (THAT was another fiasco!).] Now, feeling betrayed by a company I had been with for 40+years, I phoned FIOS. Lucky me! I got Corinne! Charming... gracious... she listened to my mini-tirade regarding Optimum. She asked me exactly why I was unhappy with Altice. What makes you feel better than another person willing to hear your complaints? And offer to help you find a better deal? Less money. More options. More features. But best of all, Corinne didn't press me... or rush me. We chatted. She wanted to know what I actually needed. What I actually wanted. Aha! The customer service that Optimum used to offer before Altice bought them out! Remember that old saying: "the customer is always right"? It means that how a company treats its customers makes the difference between keeping a customeAand losing one. Altice is clueless. My first call to ask about the $45 rise in my bill was taken by a "menu voice" which informed me that the price I saw was the right price, and the ONLY price that the service people would see, so... it disconnected me!! Yeah... REALLY! REALLY??? Pull that kind of stunt on a New Yorker???? Yeah..sure...like I'm going to accept that silliness!!??!! But LUCKY ME!! When I got Corinne she was just what I needed. If any of you are LUCKY ENOUGH to get Miss Corinne, well....HOORAY FOR YOU! She's not only professional, she's also sweet .... charming....HUMAN!!! Not to mention a joy to talk to!!! After spending all those years (40+) with Otimum/Cablevision/Cablevision of NJ.... I was jumping ship... trying something different.... and finding an amazoningly enjoyable person to help me You made an important decision EASY! MY MANY THANKS TO YOU, MY DEAR!

We asked for our payment back, they refused to return it. They told us we had to take the equipment we had to the Spectrum store to turn it in. I went to the store on Main Street in Summerville, SC this morning (6/17) around 11 AM. I signed in (Rich M) and waited. They had two people working with two customers. During the time I was there 3 additional customers came in and signed in. At 11:25 AM the two spectrum people were still working on the same customers that were there went I came in. I waited another 5 minutes and one of the spectrum people finished with the customer he had. Then he got up and left the room. I was completely frustrated at this point, so I left. I still have the equipment and am trying to figure out how to return it. We left spectrum initially because of poor service. We lost internet service 2 to 3 times a month. I highly recommend that anyone wanting to get internet service go elsewhere. These people are incompetent and do not care about customers.

They are the worst ISP and Internet provider I have ever heard of. Good Lord I wish there was a way our HOA would let us have a different provider, but somehow Sparky light has found a way to create a monopoly. These people are not only unavailable for tech-support, but their chat site generates a 502 not found error. Typical for hargray. They are the worst very worst in South Carolina. Since this was a single important server affecting South Carolina, Georgia, and Alabama here's my question for them when I get an Internet connection: Lightning strike??? why with a single server of such importance why was there no fall over; why was there no redundancy and equipment? even a stupid backwards data center knows enough to have redundant equipment there may be an excuse for a God driven event, but there is no excuse for this outage to be this long and this broad without some kind of backup equipment. How do you people stay in business?

Infamous company that has always lived up to its abysmal reputation. Anyone who's lived in the…read morelowcountry will recoil at hearing the name "Hargray". Most of us have been forced to have it at some point due to being unfortunate enough to live in a neighborhood that had been bought out by Hargray, and proceeded to have full service outages on the regular. Any remote worker or student in the area has had to explain to their superior why they're going to be frequently unavailable due to the absurd unreliability of the Internet. If you're in public school, you're gonna have a lot of free school days due to their entire system being down, because of course Hargray controls all of that too. And all of this wouldn't even be a major problem, were it not for Hargray's, near monopoly in the lowcountry. Anywhere else they would've just gone out of business like any other horrible provider, but due to the iron grip they have on internet service in this region, they are able to buy up every smaller company that could potentially compete with them. Which is the core of their strategy, and the reason they haven't improved in the slightest in 20 years. They don't have to. If any company in the area gets anywhere near becoming a viable alternative, they will buy them up and you'll be stuck with Hargray's terrible service again. And parasitic practices like that are designed to be impossible to stop. You don't even have the option to 'vote with your wallet' bc you're literally stuck with them no matter what. I wish I could end this with "don't sign up with this provider". But chances are, you had no choice. God have mercy on us all.
