Really nice people; they mean wrlll-our HOA at our condo pays for basic coverage. Ongoing complaints have gotten us nowhere. They sure sound like they've got it covered but staying over. N additional 2 days has proven fruitless. Purchased $200 worth of eero units to get their system working-nothing. Still on the phone, rebooting Everything and zero results. It's hard wired. Hargray Communications - 5G? - my arse... - Television Service Providers Near Me - Beaufort, South Carolina

i'm not normally one to leave reviews, but I feel like this needs to be expressed before you sign up there's not many options that are given in the area at least from what I was told and they always recommend this company it use to be called Hargrays and I guess they switched over to something called Spark light. I did not notice until my bill went up what I used to pay $80 for I was now paying over 100. No biggie but for the amount of money that you pay you would expect to have Internet service, WRONG... it goes out during any storm any clear skies at the gust of a wind ANYTHING, if you do choose this company just randomly expect to not have service and when you stay in a small town area like Kingsland that service matters a lot. read more

The worst internet service. It glitches every few minutes making it impossible to work. Or watch TV. Truly horrible, yet there are no alternatives. And.... They don't care. Giant rip off. read more

Today, February 20, 2025, your technician Josh provided a service call to my residence at 1605 Madrid Ave. I was without TV service and WIFI connection for my computer. Upon carefully examining the equipment, Josh discovered that I had been paying for WIFI with Hargray since moving into this house in July, 2022. However, even though I had paid for this service, I have never received it. This young man not only replaced the incorrect equipment that had been installed, but he also enabled me to receive TV service and has my computer connected to WIFI. Josh is a knowledgeable young man, courteous and was able to provide the service that is not only necessary but needed. I highly recommend Josh for his skills and believe that he deserves a raise. Thank you, Catherine Ann Bridgers The highest rating-- read more

Steer clear!!! South Carolina essentially has a non-compete between Internet Service Providers throughout the state. Hargray's "territory" includes Bluffton, where we reside. Since they don't have traditional competition, they haven't made customer service a priority (at least in the 15 years we have been customers). Maybe the rebranding to SparkLight will bring changes, but would recommend avoiding Hargray if possible. StarLink is an option as well as streaming services. read more

What year is it at this place??? This is the worst, most ass backward company ever. Having to use them for internet and cable is only slightly better than the days of dial up and AOL. When it actually works that is. Just horrible. And the service is as bad as the quality and speed of connection. One star cause zero isn't an option. read more

Jean #1 was our #1! After a long two days traveling we needed internet. However, our apt complex is not the best at communication and failed to give us the modem and router. As we were leaving Hargray dissapointed that we wouldn't have internet and fearful our apt complex would have further complications Jean ran out to stop our car and provided us with a modem so we wouldn't be without internet and would be able to work! We THANKYOU Jean! read more

I wish I could give 0 stars! Terrible company with misleading advertising and they are extremely overpriced for the service and value they offer which is basically nothing! They seem to have a monopoly in certain areas which explains why they are still in business and I wish I had other options. They advertise no contracts but if you cancel before a year is up you have to pay an early termination fee; sounds like a contract to me. They advertise 85 channels for the basic TV package. When I tried to see the channel lineup on their website, it redirects me to a blank page which is probably because they don't want to scare potential customers away. The reason being, the basic package shows 85 channels but fails to mention that only 30 (or 35-I can't remember the exact number) are actual channels to watch; the additional 50+ channels are music channels. If I want to listen to music I'll go to the SiriusXM app!! Over $250 a month for fiber 1000 and the joke of a channel lineup! You've got to be kidding me!! Their hours are very limited: M-F, 8-5. Long waits for installation. I wish that AT&T, Spectrum and Google infiltrate Hargray's customer area base and put them out of business! Regardless, they have made it a priority to me that I conduct my due diligence in my property search to build a new home (to verify before purchasing land) that I can have another internet and TV provider! I'm 100% not exaggerating. read more

Horrible service. The absolute worst internet provider I have ever used. Internet goes out multiple times a month. If I had a choice it would not be hargray/sparklight. If I could leave no stars I would. O out of 10 I highly do not recommend read more

If I could negative stars I would. The fact that they have a monopoly on every neighborhood in Bluffton should be illegal. It is by far the worst service and customer service Ive ever had. If by the slim chance you have another option other than hargray I say definitely go elsewhere, even if it's more money. I would gladly pay more for better service, service isn't even the right work for the garbage that hargray is. RUN read more

As of right now I have zero complaints We picked up our router on March 31st and wasn't able to get connection in our house till April 11th which is fine we are still moving into our home We had 30 minute calls with the tech support who helped as much as they could through the phone, then we had a tech come to the house and worked for 2 hours to get a jack activation and was unsuccessful and then we had a outside tech come out yesterday April 11th come out and set new lines to the house and now we have wifi!!! I was very scared to use Hargray as I'm use to using Verizon Fios and all the horrible customer reviews Hargray has but as of right now we don't have any complaints and everything is going accordingly. I think Hargray is taking to the complaints people are having with the company and taking steps to change. As of right now you have a happy customer. Thanks: read more

Most unreliable internet company I have ever worked with, constant outages, and very unreliable speeds.

Cancelled my service in January 2024 payed my final bill and they charged me a random INSTALLATION FEE after I moved to a different state in February then sent me to collections. If you can, please please go with a separate internet company. They will scam you! Lucky I was able to get it dropped but STILL! read more

I was told to use there "quick" self install process, after this didn't work they told me I needed a tech to go out and activate a Jack. No worries right pretty easy, so I scheduled an appointment for 3 days later. On the day they were suppose to come out I called to verify the time only to find out that they cancelled the appointment and didn't let me know and the next soonest they had was a week later. read more

Worst ISP I have ever used. They are ripping off their customers by charging them for services their hardware can not support. Apparently, they don't even do refunds if you "haven't called in about issues". The second I can switch ISP's I will ;be gone from this trash. If there was an option for negative stars, I would use it. read more

Ruined my yard laying cable. Cut my existing cable and laughed in my face when I told the contractor. They fixed the cut cable with razor and electric tape. I was turned over to collections for a balance that I was never informed of. Like many other reviews, 0 stars. From my experience with several other providers in other locations over the years, it is fair to say that shortcomings among internet providers are not uncommon. That said, Hargray takes the shortcomings to such a low level that surely the market would not allow them to remain in business if they didn't have a monopoly on the small markets they serve. It truly is hard to do justice to explaining how bad the connection consistency is for their highest (most expensive) internet service, even with their "wall-to-wall" wifi coverage. It would be comical if it wasn't so frustrating. I can rarely get through a Zoom meeting without dropping out multiple times. It's become a running joke among the folks I meet with. I can't imagine that the lower service levels are even functional. Customer service is unhelpful as well, but that's in line with customer service pretty much everywhere these days. I live in a semi-rural area and Hargray is unfortunately the only game in town for internet. No doubt this won't go on forever, though. When the time comes that the larger providers get here, it will be satisfying to see the exodus of Hargray customers and (fingers crossed) it will be enough to put their racket out of business. The only good thing I can say about Hargray is that the couple of technicians that have come out are friendly and professional. read more

Hargray Communications - This is what you watch constantly with Hargray!!! - Television Service Providers Near Me - Beaufort, South Carolina

I have lived numerous places and used all kinds of service providers. Hargray is by far the absolute worst I've ever encountered! Last night both TV and internet were out, again just now they crashed. I was late paying once and they shut off service, it's supposed to be reinstated 2-24 hours after paying. It seriously took 3 days for the internet and 4 for them to get the TV back on. Even when it isn't completely down the TV often freezes and the internet, don't get me started! We have the highest quality you can get yet the signal and speed varies from moment to moment. Don't expect to stream anything! read more

Technicians are very good. I seldom have problems with my cable. The staff has always been accommodating and courteous. That is not the problem with Hargray. The problems come from the channel selections. Over past few years, sports selections have slowly been whittled away. What has happened to: - ESPN Classic, MLB Network, NFL Network, NFL RedZone. Why don't we have Bally Sports South. This would be understandable if I had downgraded my service. That is not the case. My cable bill has increased by over $25 dollars in the past couple of years. Why We have access to the County Channel on two channels, does not make sense. Don't get me wrong, the County Channel is important, well produced with a lot of good stuff with watching. But TWO channels!? There a lot of junk sports stations on Hargray. Want to see year old reruns of high school hockey from Minnesota? How about high school baseball from 2021? Then Hargray channels 212 through 215 are for you. This company truly needs to do better! read more

The absolute worst cable provider in the country!!!. If you want to get in a time warp and go back to the late 90's this company is for you. Might be good enough for the slow country, but if you have lived in the US prior to moving here prepare to be disappointed. read more

Hargray always goes out, it's a constant issue, and everybody in Bluffton South Carolina plus everybody in my apartment building are arguing how Hargray can get away with this!!!!! Absolutely horrible service they take advantage of the fact that they are a monopoly... And boy, once they get some competition they will be out of business! Couldn't be a worse company to do business with!!! Would give a zero or a -20 if I could! It is well known that Hargray does not provide the services it's supposed to! read more

We had been a customer for three years. After they raised the rates we switched to another provider. We had automatic credit card billing with them. After we canceled the service, they failed to charge our credit card and sent the final bill out for collections. When we asked why they would do that they said their policy was to not charge credit cards once service had stopped. We asked why they didn't just mail an invoice, they said they emailed us. Apparently, they can mail us tons of marketing crap each month, but sending an invoice is a big waste of paper. read more

Hargray Communications - Hole patch from Hargray. Not sure why the telephone jack is still here. This is so unfortunate. - Television Service Providers Near Me - Beaufort, South Carolina

Dear God in Heaven, This is literally the worst it gets folks. Hargray has hit rock bottom. You would think an internet company, would keep the internet on. But no, Hargray has failed to do the simplest of jobs. But alas, I am able to call their customer service number for assistance. But of course, they would rather sit and stare at the phone while it's ringing, opposed to do their job. I beg you, no I plead you, save yourselves, and find somewhere else. read more

This is a review for cable/internet installation. The installer showed up exactly when he said he would! He was fast, professional, wore a mask and was very courteous and gave very thorough instructions to my mom. After moving to beaufort in June and accepting the fact that hargray is the only broadband ISP in the county, I decided to give them a shot. WHAT A BAD CHOICE! I agreed to the 30Mbps @ $80/mo subscription and then I was told it would be two weeks before a tech could come out due to their busy schedules. Again, I agreed because what choice did I have. I have yet to see anything close to 30Mbps on a speed test, and not only that, streaming a video (I use netflix and AppleTV) is very frustrating and nearly impossible. Like the other reviews say, the service disconnects randomly and consistently. This service is a ripoff. I hope a more reliable ISP comes in and pushes hargray out! read more
