Howell-Chase is not good at HVAC repair and their technicians are untrained. I know first hand. My problems started when their tech performed annual service and did not reinstall the housing to the HVAC unit. In addition the technician left the cap off the condensate line and the float switch uninstalled. Numerous technicians have been out to fix a condensate draining problem which they are unable to fix. Additionally, they cut my condensate drain line during one of their visits which is now leaking from the coupler they installed. This company is horrible. read more

If you want to work with a company that excels in excuses, apologies, lacks professionalism and has no idea what they are doing , then this is the company for you!. They send like 3 emails per appointment to verify the appointment. They wasted over 6 hours of my time over a week period and still had no resolution. Keep reading. 1/24 - (Glenn) walked on new carpets with ice and muddy shoes. He got an attitude when he had to go in the attic space. He said he didn't know how to fix it and just walked out the door. 45 minutes wasted time 1/28 (Blake) He was very polite and professional. He spent about 2 hours looking at the problem. He said he was not able to find out the problem and have to send a team that has duct work knowledge. 2 hours wasted time. 1/3 (Matt) He comes and looks at the problem and said he will have to come back out with a couple of other techs 45 minutes wasted time. 1/4 - (Matt) we had appt at 9:30am. He called at 9:17 to cancel the appointment because he had a Dr appt, He said he realize we were on the schedule. 1.5 wasted. time . I had to reschedule and change my schedule for 1/5. 1/5 (Matt and 2 others). 9:30 appt. They showed up at 8:45 and expected to start the appointment. My daughter was getting ready to go to class and I was in the shower. I did not want 3 men I didn't know in the house at that time. My husband talked to them outside and let them in the hallway just after 9:00, I was yelling at my husband the appt was at 9:30. Matt got an attitude and said if they cant work they were leaving and NEVER coming back. When they left, it was 9:30, the exact time they were suppose to be there. 2 hours wasted 1/5. (Mike- Service manager). Talked to him 10 for about 10 minutes. He said Matt told him I was yelling at him (I was in my room yelling to my husband the appt was at 9:30 not 8:45. They cant be in the house until then. He just apologized but could not explain this type of business practice. He had no idea how to handle that call. 1/5 (Mac- GM) Spoke to him for about 10 minutes. He was professional and polite. At this point, what could he say. He wanted to part ways amicably. He refunded my money and I wrote this review. read more

I would recommend using another company for your HVAC needs. They are just an OK HVAC company. Their staff are very friendly and generally helpful. For fast service they came through. They were always on-time for appointments. The problems began to mount though when our HVAC systems started having issues. First, it was always a recommendation to spend more money on items not needed. Second the analysis on the problems were not correct in too many cases. Third, their prices to fix items or general analysis on the same problem began to skyrocket. During the time period of using Howell-Chase, we also had to call in other HVAC specialists to resolve issues they could not (but should have been able to). Overall we became very disappointed in their service, switched HVAC companies and have been very happy with our HVAC service since. read more

This company has been very responsive when I have needed service after hours. My electric bill is finally the lowest ever since building our house 14 years ago. Their cost was much lower than the competitors. I was told by another company that I needed much more extensive work than I actually did. Howell-Chase was honest and had integrity. I will always call them for my AC and heating needs from now on. I absolutely love my UV sterilization that was installed . My immune system is low and this has absolutely helped with dust and mold. Extremely disappointed & aggravated with this company. They installed what we are told was a brand new A/C system about 2 months ago. They have been here 5 or 6 times. 2 of those times was to replace 2 different parts on a BRAND NEW SYSTEM. I would swear we got a rebuilt one. Meanwhile while the part came in yesterday they chose to wait until today to install it while we slept in an 86 degree house last night. Every tech that comes here looks like a kid. They say 24/7 service but if you call after hours you can't get anyone to come to the house or do anything, just excuses over the phone. I HAVE HAD IT WITH THIS COMPANY!! read more

Brandon the technician arrived on time wearing a mask. They do a great job sending an e-mail introducing your tech and let you track his arrival time. Brandon was courteous, through and professional. I had them do a check on the system. This is my third year living here and hadn't had any service on the system. They looked everything over, cleaned somethings and didn't try to up sell me. I was very pleased with this service and would use Howell-Chase Heating and Air Conditioning again. read more
