EEEEEK! Our upcoming move is fast approaching! We recently accepted an offer on our home in GA which is exciting, but now the craziness begins. The inspector came to do her evaluation and buyer came back with their repair requests. One of the items was to service the HVAC unit and fix any issues found. Our realtor recommended Service Emperor (SE), so we gave them a call. - Evaluation - Wow, were they fast! After we got off the phone with our realtor in the am, she called them to make an appointment. They were available to come out later that afternoon to do the initial evaluation of the work that needed to be done. This company is pretty high tech! They sent me a text message from the technician, Josh, introducing himself, stating he was on his way and a link to his GPS location that indicated his ETA in live time with a pic of himself attached. You know who to expect, no surprises. Josh was great! He did a full evaluation, made the recommendations which he separated item by item. There were really pricey items for simple fixes like leveling the HVAC unit, but he suggested that if we wanted to go through the trouble, we could save the money and do it ourselves (like lifting the unit, shoveling gravel underneath and putting a leveler until it's level). We appreciated his advice and did just that for the minor issue, but agreed to get the big job done by them. Note that if you call them out to do an initial inspection, there is a fee, but if you agree to do the work they find that needs fixing, they'll waive the fee. Josh had an iPad with him, took pics of every detail and sent us a detailed evaluation with pics attached. - The Main Job - The repairs and full servicing of the unit was done the following week. Josh had come out on Friday. There was a bit of a miscommunication in scheduling the follow up appointment to get the big job done. Called their office on Monday and spoke to the Office Manager and she got us scheduled in a couple of hours. The start time of the appointment is a two hour window, but they showed up closer to the 2 hour mark. This time, Corey and Kenneth came out to do the job. Same as Josh, they sent a text in the same fashion, intro, name, link to GPS tracking and a pic of themselves. They arrived promptly and spent a few hours working on the unit. At the end, they drafted up the invoice, attached the pics and was emailed the invoice on the spot. No nonsense guys, very courteous, did the work efficiently, packed up and left! They also included in their report that they checked that the unit was level and included the pics to the report so we could provide that as proof to the buyers. - Notes - *Woman-owned and veteran-owned! *They provide a military discount, which is never expected but always appreciated! Thank you, SE! - COVID-19 Observations - They are taking serious precautions! First, they are masked up AND they put hospital booties over their work boots when entering our home and diligently took them off when exiting and putting them on again when entering. They had to do this quite a few times getting material in and out of the house. I'm sure that is annoying and I know they have to keep their work boots on for safety and liability, but the fact that they were so considerate to put them on warmed this Korean girl's heart with a strict no shoes policy in the home! (Josh did the same). *Clarification: I was a little confused with the Icebound gear on the techs in the photos, but it looks like the company rebranded to Service Emperor. Well, that's one big item off the repair request list, so thanks SE, for getting it done! The guys were top notch! One step closer to closing on this house and getting out of dodge... I cannot say enough good things about Icebound in Savannah, GA. Especially Tersh Blissett and Justin O'Dwyer who went above and beyond the call of duty to make sure my Air Conditioning unit was working properly. To make a very long story short I was without air conditioning for 2 months this summer. I purchased my home in March 2018 and at the end of May 2018 my air conditioner died. Thankfully I had a home owners warranty but their choice of "in network service providers", SOLO Pros out of Brunswick, lacked both professionalism and competence. Because I did not have a "good feeling" about this company I called Icebound to give me a second option. I have known Icebound for years between a previous job and being involved in Buy Local Savannah. I knew and trusted Icebound. After over a month of trying to get a copy of SOLO Pros diagnostic to compare to Icebound's diagnostic and going over both line by line, I reluctantly went with SOLO Pros as my home warranty company would not cover Icebound. Again I did not have a good feeling about this choice but I was cornered and did not have much of a choice. You see my home had been between 87 - 97 degrees INSIDE for 2 months. I was exhausted, hot, and the heat was wearing me down emotionally and physically. Finally SOLO Pros showed up and installed a new air conditioning unit and I almost cried tears of joy. However my new air conditioning unit still did not work. My house will still hot. SOLO Pros did come back and looked at the unit but no matter what they did the brand new unit did NOT work! On Friday, August 3, 2018 Tersh, from Icebound, sent me a message asking when I would be home as he was sending over a technician to look at the unit. I want to make this very clear... I did not call Icebound for the appointment as I was still gong rounds with SOLO Pros and my home warranty company. Icebound reached out to me because this company actually cares about its customers as well as the reputation of their trade! Friday evening - yes after business hours - Justin showed up to my house and within minutes found a multitude of issues SOLO Pros had majorly messed up (wiring issues, shorts in the wiring, etc, etc, etc) or just neglected. Justin called Tersh and Tersh left his family and drove 40 minutes to my house, again on a Friday night, to help Justin get my new air conditioning unit up and running. I cannot tell you how grateful I am for Icebound and the exceptional customer service that was provided to me. Icebound went above and beyond the call of duty to ensure my air conditioning unit was working. When I was expressing my gratitude Tersh and Justin said to me "Icebound takes it personally when other companies make their trade look bad." If you all want a trustworthy company that will go above and beyond the call of duty you need to call Icebound. We had a refrigerator broke down at the restaurant where I managed after 5pm. Mr Justin came to the rescue and in lest then 45mins he was done. I can honestly say the best service we have gotten. I called a week ago for simple information such as when was the last time my a.c. Unit was serviced by the company. Simple. NOT. They said I would get a call back. Nothing. Called today. Same thing. Only this time someone will return my call within 4 hours. It's been over 6. Called back. Same old thing. If they can't do one simple thing I def will not trust them to do anything else.
