This week alone, I have rearranged my schedule and waited at home on three separate days with little to no proactive communication. Every update has required me to reach out first, and when I do, I often feel like I'm inconveniencing the staff simply by asking for information. Considering the significant investment I've made and the service expectations outlined during the sales process and in the agreement, I expected a much higher level of professionalism. Clear communication, confirmed appointment times, and follow through should be standard, not something the customer has to chase down. I do want to recognize Brandon because he has been great when it comes to the actual service. He has been professional, knowledgeable, and thorough while at my home. My frustration is not with him. It's with the overall communication and scheduling process. I simply wish the communication from the office was as proactive and reliable as the service Brandon provides. The work itself may ultimately resolve the issue, but the overall customer experience has been frustrating. Clients should not have to repeatedly follow up just to find out if a technician is coming. Jeff arrived today and investigated my entire house. I was fully expecting him to tell me there were rats and that he would have to do all this work in my home. Instead, he told me that he didn't find any evidence of rodents. I was a bit distracted with a conference call at work, but he told me he was in no rush as I was the last appointment of the day. As I was finishing up my call, he inspected the exterior of my home to see if there were any opportunities for rodents to get inside. He was so thorough that he even used his ladder to take a closer look at the roof. He let me know that my house was pretty well sealed (from previous owners), but there were a some minor spots that may require sealing. He was very honest and told me that it may be cheaper to have a roofer do the work. We then went up to the attic, and Jeff spent a good amount of time educating me on signs of rodent activity. He even went the extra mile to take a look at the HVAC ducting and water heater to find the source of the noise I've been hearing. While we ultimately couldn't get to the root of the problem, it was very reassuring to learn that it wasn't due to rodents. I absolutely commend Jeff for the thoroughness in his inspection, and honesty in his assessment. He has earned my trust, and subsequently my future business. Whether they were raccoons, mice or rats, we didn't know, but we did know we needed to do something about it. A good friend of ours told us about Chris Hall and his company, Wild Things, that specialized in the capture and removal of things that aren't supposed to be living in people's houses. We heard a lot of good things about the company so we looked them up and gave them a call. Soon Chris came by and we told him what we were hearing in the attic and walls. He was very attentive and asked pertinent questions about our situation. He then climbed up in the attic and inspected the area. After he came down, he verified that there was evidence of nesting areas and rat fecal matter up there. The rats had apparently made their home in our attic insulation. Chris then patiently explained how he would take care of the critters and remove them from our house. As our house is over 40 years old we asked about the possibility of stripping out the old insulation and getting new blown in. He then explained the process of removal and installation, and gave us a quote. We agreed on the quote and he began his work. He first installed bait and traps to remove the critters, which was accomplished in a few days' time. He was very unobtrusive in his work; we hardly knew he was there. The removal of insulation was a bit more noisy, as expected, but was done in one day's time. A few days later Chris brought over the equipment for blowing in the new insulation and began work. This was also done in one day's time, though your mileage may vary depending on the size of your house. What was surprising to me was that though they spread plastic tarps to cover everything, there was hardly any mess made while the insulation was blown in. An added bonus was that after he was done our home was much better insulated than before. Cleanup was very quick, and they were done in the early afternoon. The Wild Things people were always reliable and were here when they said they would be here. They always called to give us a heads up when they were coming. I never thought that pest eradication and installing insulation could ever be a good experience, but Chris Hall and the people of Wild Things made it quite delightful. They are good people, and we are very happy with the finished product. I strongly recommend Wild Things LLC for your critter removal needs.
