Where my dog was bitten

Great dog park if you protect your dog. Beware of a large black schnauzer who attacked our puppy unprovoked. The owner did nothing and watched as this dog shredded my shirt as I carried my pup out of the dog park and trying to protect her... this dog jumped on me the whole way to the gate trying to bite my pup. Thank god my 7 year old son wasn't attacked in the process!!! Update months later same dog seconds into the dog park targets her and goes after her! Insanity this dog should not be allowed in the park!!

Nice park for your pup. For large dogs the have two areas that alternate to let the grass recover. Overall well kept. Only negative is that they are closed on wensday.

Cool dog park

Well, as dog parks go this one is nice. It is spacious and there is a sidewalk walking path which is nice. It is clean and I have only been here once and the people all seemed friendly and nice. Generally dog people are nice as a rule but every now and then... not. There is also a little woodsy area in the very back that allows dogs to think they are getting away from you and that excites my two huskies. :-) some agility equipment to play on - nice. Lots to keep the dogs busy for a while to burn off some energy and interact with their own species. We will be back for sure.

Beautiful park!

How pleasant to find a dog park right by our home with dogs that are well mannered and fun to be around!! We were a little hesitant at first since we were new to the area. Our dog isn't super socialized so we were a little scared about fights and whatnot. Everyone here was so pleasant. The dogs were sooooo friendly and wanting to play with our dog. Other than the place being closed on Wednesday, we will likely bring our fur baby here almost every day. Beautiful and clean park! We love it! Nicely done Flower Mound. And the name of the place is clever too - hound mound.

well today only a 3 star. Let. e start off saying it started off good but then people come in on…read morethe small dog side with big dogs and expect us that are there already to control our small dog so theirs can run at us. Tried to tell the man that he needed to leash his dog or go around to the big side to get in. This man then began to get very verbal with me and frankly was a little uncomfortable with his aggression. The sign is not clear for some people and this is something that could be fixed. A sign for the big dog entrance and the gate between locked. Most people are courteous but this man got mad for me being there and not wanting his big dog coming at me.

It is very rarely crowded and the families that frequent here are very nice. However, the maintenance on the park is very poor. The gates have been broken for the 6 months that we have lived in lakeside. They are kept closed with rocks, which is far from secure. There is a drain in the small dog park which has a man whole cover that we found to be wide open at our last visit. There are also large holes scattered across the park that are very dangerous for dogs when they are playing. The fence closest to the creek has open spots in it that are big enough for small dogs to fit under. When it rains and for many days after the park is a swamp and practically not able to be used. If we were not residents of lakeside, we would not bring our pup here.

This is one of the most well-done parks in the area. I hope the Bedford Boys Ranch took note as…read morethey designed their $70 million renovation, but I'm not holding my breath. Andy Brown is a beautiful space, from the pond to the open fields, the sidewalk/bike path, multiple large pavilions, and fun playground. There are large, mature trees surrounding the park. We parked in the wrong lot and had to walk alongside the gym in order to get to the playground and I couldn't believe how beautiful the pathways were with all the trees and the small creek running alongside. Not what I expected from a city park! The playground itself ("Kid Country") is almost fully enclosed and is a sprawling assortment of things to climb up, swing on, and slide down. There is a play area in the toddler section with storefronts to spark pretend play. The ground is bark. There are large trees in the center of the play area that provide shade and make the play structure look more natural than your typical playground. Almost like a tree house. There are benches scattered throughout the play area and a large covered pavilion with multiple picnic tables underneath. The city of Coppell provides free WiFi there and there were multiple moms with laptops out, working, while their kids played. The only big negative is the distance from the playground to the bathroom. I understand that they probably built the bathrooms more toward the center of the park, but the wise choice would have been to also put an additional small restroom right next to the playground. It's too far of a walk for me to feel comfortable sending my younger kids over there alone and it's kind of a bummer to have to wrangle together the entire group every time one kid has to pee. Otherwise, a fabulous park. LOVE IT. Hats off to you, Coppell!

This is an expansive, beautiful park. There are baseball fields, soccer fields, football fields,…read moretwo playgrounds, fishing ponds, and trails. We have not had a chance to walk the trails yet, so I will have to update my review once we do. In regards to the playgrounds, one is a small little structure near the baseball fields and the other is a large, spread out structure that can be accessed through the second entrance into the park (NOT S Field Dr.). The playground has a small fence that runs nearly fully around it, with openings for entering and exiting. There is plenty to do, including lots of "spinney things" that my kids love. The design of the structure itself is top notch. Bark bottom. Benches are situated within the fence, circling the playground or parents can sit under the covered pavilion behind the playground. The park is beautiful and the playground is fun, but there are two negatives: 1. Lack of shade 2. Bathrooms far away from playground The play structure has limited shade covering the slide areas, which probably help to keep the equipment from getting burning hot, but there is no shade otherwise. I hope the trees they planted around the playground will grow into massive shade trees, but for now they aren't doing a thing. The bathroom is far from the playground. It's a long walk for little legs, and some parents might not feel comfortable leaving their little kids on the playground for a quick run to the bathroom, because it's not really that quick. Also, when I went, there were allllllll kinds of cicadas in the bathroom: swimming in the toilet and crawling all over the sinks. LOTS. I haven't lived in Texas long and am new to Cicadas, so I can't say if this is a sign of poor sanitation or just par for the course, but I thought it was worth noting.
