It seems that on Friday evenings there is a group of people who do happy hour at a local establishment then come to the Addison Dog Park with their dogs. I'm sure the doggies are very sweet as individuals, but as a pack coming every Friday evening they sort of think they own the place, ie: pack mentality and new dogs are not welcome. One of the guys who seems to be in charge of the group of people who coincidentally has the alpha dog of the pack tried to re-assure me that after a few more trips my dog would be comfortable to join the pack. There didn't seem to be much improvement the rest of the night though so I will just avoid this place on Friday evenings and perhaps you should do the same. Having said that Friday nights aside Addison has a nice dog park. It is tricky to find as it is located just south of Belt Line down Midway, sandwiched between an apartment complex and a group of office buildings that look more like buildings you would find on a college campus. The easiest way to access the dog park is to turn into the parking lot of a restaurant/small strip shopping place right before you get to Proton road and the hotel. It is definitely tucked away!! The dog park really has no tree coverage but has beautiful, lush grass. It is nice to find a dog park with lush grass. There is a section for big dogs and one for small dogs and both sections are good sized. They have plenty of doggie bag dispensers and a couple of benches and trash cans. It seems to be frequented with lots of various dogs but isn't too crowded. There is also a water fountain at the level of the dogs so they can get a drink. I think that the Keller Springs dog park is more popular than this place but Addison's dog park is nice and worth visiting. Just beware of Friday evenings.

The water fountains are clean and functioning well, the waste bags are thick and high quality and there is a TON of shade and seating which is important for those summer days. The pond for the dogs to swim in great for the summer, though if you have small dogs I recommend giving them life vests to wear as I think the water is deeper than it looks at some parts. Note that the pond is not separated between large dogs and small dogs. There is also a water fountain with a hose attachment that you can use to hose down your dogs after they go swim.

The people and dogs there are all very friendly and I have never come across any issues. There's also plenty of seating for the pet parents and most of the dog park is shaded which is perfect for those warmer days. Parking is never an issue either and we love how close it is to us. I also love all of the different food options at the shacks. There is a wide variety and something for everyone. The empanada spot is my personal favorite. Definitely recommend the shacks for all dog lovers

A new 3 acre park for all sizes of mans best friend. It's divided into three areas of small dog,large dog and general area . Nice benches and picnic tables are placed about as well as modern,clean restrooms. All grass lawn areas with plenty of room to roam. The park itself can be accessed by foot via the Campion Trail or by car off Riverside Drive. There is a free parking lot right next to the park. There are two sides to the dog park area. One for large dogs and one for small dogs. When I took my chihuahua mix into the small dog side, I did see a few dogs there that I thought were too big (should have been on the other side). The park seems well-maintained and there are regular Paws Colinas events with photo opportunities, give-aways and adoption events.

Will explain the steps below but here's my what I love : Love that small and big dogs are separated! Love that it's clean, has shade, a million water bowls around and seating! Also love they have a bar, drinks, decent food and friendly staff. They truly were so nice and I noticed they remembered everyone and their dogs Ok! So steps so you don't feel as dumb as I did lol, Walk around to the main entrance, there's only one entrance exit. Check in first. Get your day pass or membership (Honestly it's a great deal for everything you get!) I'd absolutely pay just because it's so clean and well taken care of! Then, grab your drink and head to the park section I not know did the opposite and couldn't open the gate (because you need your pass haha) and then I couldn't figure how to get back out I got the burger and crinkle cut friends it was decent better than fast food.
