Georgia & Grady's Favorite Place!!!! Great place to run your dogs to socialize them! Hugs & Licks!

    Bush Central Barkway

The large dog pens are big enough for throwing balls and frisbees even when crowded. The interstate overhead results in the area always being partially shaded which is nice. Restrooms are available. Water fountains for dogs are available. Doggy bags/bins are provided to pick up poop. The park seems well maintained. Some dogs are usually at the park at all times during nice days. Many dogs are often at the park in the afternoon and evening hours. The small dog area has ample seating. In the large dog area, seating is available on a couple benches in the front and on a rock formation in the back. Everything is nice, except it's a little tricky finding the single entrance to the park. Drive south on the access road of North Central Expy(75) from Plano Parkway. The turn-in to the park is on the right as you pass under George Bush Freeway. If you miss the turn, you'll need to circle around and try again.

Love that they have different areas for different size dogs

What a great space! I took my dog, Bailey, there today to burn through some of her energy. It worked like a charm. She enjoyed playing in the small dog area with another dog. The park is easy to access, has lots of parking and is super well maintained. The dog water fountains were a huge plus. I also appreciated that they supplied dog waste bags. I can see us making numerous weekly trips here. Thanks Richardson!

My dog loves it here. Therese always a lot of dogs for him to play with. Amazing place to bring any dog!

I have been waiting to take Baxter here for months, and I am so glad that they finally opened! A Dog Park on this side of town has been in need for a while. It is located directly under George Bush and 75. There is not a big sign in front so just look for the driveway to the right as you are heading south on the side street. There are 2 designated areas for big dogs, an area for small dogs, and an area for disabled dogs. There is also an area that you can rent for parties. There is ample parking, but as with most dog parks, it may overflow at some point if you go during a busy time. Oh, and they have restrooms! I don't see myself using them, but they looked nice and at least dog owners have the option. The grass was nicely grown, and there are a couple of benches for owners to sit. One suggestion may be to have a shaded area for people to sit. Most dog parks do not have this, but it would definitely help during the hot summer days.

Brand new facility with separate areas for each size and sitting areas in each. Water fountains for dogs and owners in each area as well. Along with a restroom which is a great feature. Highway overhead provides shade in the summer which is also nice good location off 75 and George Bush. Plenty of lighting for a late evening outing and dog stations in each area too! Plenty of parking for people to visit. I have been here many times and is always clean, stocked supplies and open parking.

Nice dog park under the freeways. The park has several fenced in areas based on dog size. And the fences are made of high quality.

I like this dog park. There are places to sit, it's kept pretty clean and George Bush helps keep the place shaded on hot days.

Ask the Community - Bush Central Barkway

Is this park still open I've tried countless times trying to find it and no luck! Can anyone give me landmarks or what street I should look out for? GPS is throwing me off or maybe the address needs to be updated!

It is located south of Plano Parkway on the South bound service road of Central Expressway. You need to be in the right hand lane to turn in as it is under the overpasses at Bush and Central Expwy. The park is open from Sunrise to Sunset roughly.… Read more

Is this a very popular spot for dog owners?

Its never crowded and not much places to sit but its big and open for you to throw a frisbee w a big dog. Smaller dog area isn't too big.

I have a very docile, low energy french bulldog, so the small dog area is perfect for him.

I discovered this park after joining Plano Pacers last night and seeing that this is our monthly location for 5k races. I walked over to check out the course prior to Saturdays race. I loved everything about it! It's truly beautiful in every sense of the word. What I can say, is on a very hot TX day the park itself (not Legacy trail) didn't seem to have a ton of tree coverage. You'll definitely want a wide brim hat and some sunscreen. The paths, wild flowers, lake, creek, trees, birds, bunnies and so on were all very lovely. I've been running a ton of routes since relocating to the neighborhood and I'm always thankful to find new paths to incorporate in, seeing as though I'm a distance runner and have been trying to put together some ideas for various different mileage options from my doorstep. I was very accustomed to an out and back in my previous city that I could easily get over 20 miles on and have been looking to somehow recreate a similar very straight forward route like that. I will most definitely be looping Windhaven Meadows Park and Legacy Trail into my runs. Highly recommend if you're looking for a gorgeous peaceful place to walk and relax. I can't wait to bring friends and family here!

According to the map, it looks like it goes far south into Plano. Very quiet. Only saw a couple families walking, jogging, and riding bikes. We did come on a Friday morning though. It hasn't rained in awhile so the creeks are low. All paved, a couple bridges. I saw some wildlife too: squirrels, hawks, and egrets. We came in January so all the leaves had fallen off trees. I bet it is a sight to see during spring when everything blossoms. However, I imagine it being very hot during summer since there is no coverage throughout the path. Overall, nice, paved trail. Extremely well maintained.
