Please update this site. I suspect that they are letting this park go to the dogs literally, as it is valuable property for a developer. The last few times I have been there (and I have been taking my dogs there since it opened) there have only been a handful of people/dogs. It used to be packed. You have to take your own water as the water has been turned off and there were no poop bags this last weekend. read more

We took our dogs here on Sunday and there were 10-15 dogs and parents. The place is nice with a lot of shade and water. My problem is with the owners and not cleaning up after the dogs relieve themselves. Dog poop everywhere and a bad odor because of it. We have been to a couple of them but please pickup after your dogs! Watch where you step. read more

Be aware of this guy, I toke my bichon poodle 22 pounds to small dog park and this guy brought his massive dog to small dog park too. His dog injured my dog and before taking my dog to vet when I asked him to exchange info in case the vet needed more info and if there is damages he refused and wasted my time till the vet got closed and we had to wait for police so I can get the needed information. Great dog park for your furry family member. We stopped here in a middle of a long road trip and it was a nice relief for the whole family. Our dogs enjoyed playing in the large dog area. There were plenty of tennis balls too! There is abundant of shade on a hot day and working water fountains for both human and dog. There is a big and small dog area that is separated by the parking lot. Gates are easy to use and we had no issue finding parking when we went mid-day during the holidays. read more

This is a great dog park! It has a separate fenced area for the big dogs and the small dogs, and both areas are huge! There are double gated entrances so that you and your dog can get into the staging area and remove the leash without being rushed by dogs from the park or worrying that someone's dog will escape. The park has lots of trees and shady areas. Unfortunately there isn't much grass in the big dog area, but the small dog area seems to have some plots of grass that the dogs enjoy. Most of the ground is compact dirt. There is a water fountain with dual sprouts: one tall one for us 2-legged folk, and one ground pedestal bowl with a sprout that dogs of all sizes can easily reach to drink. There is a short brick wall in a crescent shape and a pad of concrete where the humans like to sit and hang out. Many of the dogs enjoy jumping onto the platform of this short 3-foot wall to greet the humans milling about. Lots of tennis balls are dropped off and left at the park for the dogs. You never really need to bring your own. There are dog bags and trashcans for disposing of dog waste available inside and outside of each dog area. Most owners seem to be aware and responsibly take care of their dogs droppings. It is worth walking the path around the park. There is a great view of the creek near the dog park and a few benches in the area. When driving into the park, you'll see the small dog area on the right and the big dog area on the left. There is parking on both sides and a cul-de-sac/roundabout that allows you to circle back to find a shady spot near your respective dog area. It is closed on rainy days. It is best to check the Dallas Parks website to make sure that it's open. They also close the park one day (usually Monday or Tuesday when few people are out with their dogs) during the week for maintenance. Again check the Dallas Parks website for the most up to date information. Although this park is a 15-20 minute drive for me, I still like it better than any other dog park in the DFW area. It has everything my dog likes and it is super convenient for me to travel to due to its proximity to Beltline Road and Preston Road. I give this park 5 tail wags, 4 paws up, and one big slobbery dog kiss! read more

Just moved to the area and brought the pups here in the middle of the day on a weekday to check it out. We usually go to the big dog side in parks, but there were no dogs there when we arrived. One pup is 25 lbs and one is 35 lbs, so we went to the small dog side since there were a few dogs there. The park is a nice size and has a few trees for limited shade. The other dogs were well behaved and monitored, and the other owners were friendly. There are a few walls to sit on, but none in the shade. The area has a couple of poop bag stations and a water fountain for people and pups. My plan is to try a few parks for my fur babies, but we would definitely return here. read more

Not really any decent great area in the park on the enclosed part of the small dog area. Just a lot of hard wood chips. Not ideal for seniors on the inside. Outside there is some grass. White rock lake dog park is way better. read more

It has a pretty large area for the dogs but a lot of it is covered in trees and mulch instead of grass which could be good or bad. The people that go here however don't seem to pick up after their dogs. You'll have to be careful where you step. I was not the biggest fan of this location personally. read more

This is a great dog park with a walking trail and separate areas for large and small dogs. Like others have mentioned, parking is limited, but I have always found a space. I will say that on a couple of occasions, other owners have complained about aggressive dogs in the large dog area. If their dogs cannot act properly, they should stay home. For the most part, the people who come here are nice. They are closed on Mondays for maintenance or when it rains. The sign says they close at sundown. I have been there as late as 8:45 in the summer, and dogs were still playing. read more

My favorite dog park in Texas and California!!! Its very hidden and not a lot of people know about it but it is always so clean and the dogs there are very well behaved. I also love the waterfall view from the dog park. Very cool! Dog parks are notorious for being filled with really bizarre and extremely ghetto people but not here! My favorite thing there is actually the people! Every time I talk to someone they are always extremely polite and nice. So far, I have talked a doctor, a nurse, and a chiropractor. I did have a very odd conversation once with this guy who was convinced that global warming wasn't real and that everything can be explained by constellation of the planets, but he had the most adorable dog so I just agreed with him. :) Also, it pisses me off when people take their children to dog parks and treat it as a petting zoo, um this is a dog park for dogs! I didn't bring my dog out here to entertain your little rugrats so don't blame me if something happens! I have seen some horrible children at other dog parks that torment the dogs and even throw rocks at them for fun (but they were like 4 years old). But at wagging tail, I have never seen a single kid that was obnoxious and out of control. My dog is really sweet but he does not like to be pet by rotten children, so Wagging Tail is the perfect place for us. It is closed on Mondays of maintenance. read more

Poor planning on the hours of operation...how is a dog park going to be closed on a Saturday?!? Lol...and it happens quite often. On top of the fact that there is not enough parking. So then people start parking on the street...which is not only illegal but VERY dangerous! Once you do enter into the beautiful area I might say, you're bombarded with dogs. At least the large dog area was, where we were forced to go in with our large American bulldog pup. I KNOW I'm going to a dog park but wow! We couldn't even get in and breathe. Then my poor dog was pummeled by a pack of dogs roughly playing. He struggled to get up, because they knocked the air out if him (we could actually hear the smack of the dog slamming into mine) then they pinned him down again. No other owners stepped in to help, just watched as if it was normal. We have NOT RETURNED since! So sad. read more

Great place to bring your four-legged pals to. The park is split up by small dogs (30 lbs and under) and larger dogs (30 lbs and over). There's plenty of space for your dogs to run and roam around. A nice and clean park where your dogs can have fun and you can unite with fellow dog lovers. When the weather is nice, expect a busy crowd! I would drive the distance if they started caring for their grass or lack thereof. Many puppy parents let their dogs poop and they walk away as if they don't see anything. This could be an awesome dog park but really it is a combination of the puppy parents and parks service that make this place. If the big dogs pen is empty, I have seen some people bring their large does over. Not a good idea. I have also seen people bring their chairs and just sit there and watch their dogs take a shit but keep chatting as they turn a blind eye. Love the area and I could love this park. Your mileage may vary on experience but just adding this review as a precaution in case you're on the fence. read more

I was surprised to see 3, later 4 , big dogs came into the small dog area. I have a small rescue puppy that was just beginning to socialize again when these big dogs picked on her, getting her into defense mode. These dogs actually started attacking her!! Soon other dogs were drawn into the the mad mix of dogs starting to attack each other. Needless to say, my puppy went back into her fearful, anxious behavior and started howling, barking at every one - dogs and humans. Although she was barking, she was not aggressive, rather chose to stay away from the happy play she was in with the regular dogs. The humans with the big dogs were not bothered and did not leave and go to the area where they should have been in the first place. They were even smiling. Soon the owners of the other small dogs started leaving. This is a nice park and I would like to be able to recommend this to other people. I hope something can be done so these people with big dogs do not come into the small dog area causing the small ones to be wary. Something must be done to avoid future encounters like this if only everyone will follow the rules. If this continues, the park could easily and quickly gain the reputation of admitting dogs with bad behavior. read more

This is the best dog park I've found so far! Lots of trees for good shade and the feel of being in the woods, a very good water fountain, good seating, and great design. There's also a waterfall on the property if you and your dog/s are feeling adventurous. Only downside is that people need to do more to clean up after their dogs but that's a universal problem. My pup had a great time running around with other big dogs. He is now fast asleep with sweet dreams :) read more

My husband and I have been to this dog park twice and both experiences were absolutely just horrible . The frequent dog owners that attend this park have no etiquette what so ever and do not keep an eye on their dogs, but rather sit on their lawn chairs chatting away as their dogs are either aggressive or pooping and not picking up after them. Our first experience was with a shih tzu we were dog sitting. We brought ranger (the 3 year old shih tzu) into the small dog area. It was quite peculiar to my husband and I that there were several dogs in the SMALL dog park that were well over small dog weight limit . Once we went inside the park , the big dogs began to tackle Ranger eventually causing us to leave because the owners would not do anything to correct the behavior. This is highly dangerous to mix small dogs with big dogs. Temperament levels are different as well as play styles . There is a reason even at doggie day cares, that they are separated. Our second experience was today when we brought our six month old Doberman to play . This time we entered the big dog park. As soon as we entered in a black Labrador ran up to Toby and began to attack him (and they say that Doberman's are more likely to be aggressive?). The Labrador's teeth were showing, he had a snarling growl, nose scrunched up , hair raised, and no tail wagging, in which ALL are indications of aggression and not play. As this attack occurred , the owner was no where to be found, to correct the behavior. I eventually used my calm and assertive energy to redirect the lab away from toby , but he eventually came back and snapped at Toby again and instigated another attack. Our poor Toby began to squeal. By this time , I calmly found the owner and relayed that their dog does not need be at the dog park, and the owner preceded to laugh and continue to chat with his friends . An additional note about this park is that the rules clearly state your dog must be on a leash before entering and exiting the park . When we got there and exited our vehicle , another owner had two of their dogs off leash. Steer clear of this park , because the clientele is just awful. read more

Since I'm less than a mile away from Wagging Tail, I frequent this dog park regularly. It's "okay" but good God is there a lot of poop! My biggest complaint would be the sheer amount of it. The facility is closed once a week for maintenance, when I would assume poop would be picked up, but I'm guessing that's not at all the case because you can't go 2 feet without stepping in a fresh, steaming pile or a old, crunchy one. Gross. This poop dilemma counts for both the big and little dog sections. The play area is 95% dirt and rocks and then when there is grass, expect your dog's paws and fur to be covered in burs. On the plus side, each dog section has a water fountain for hot days. The down side is some people don't stop their dogs from peeing in/on it so it's advised you bring your own water. Like every dog park, dogs will play, super carefree which is great! However, some owners are A) too protective of their dog and only want him/her playing with certain dogs (an owner grab their dog and took it to the other side of the park, telling it to not play with my dog--weird) or B) too into socializing with humans instead of being attentive to their own dog who might be trying to escape from the poorly maintained entrance gates. Whatever, to each their own. And then you have the rare awesome dog owners who understand dogs will be dogs and will play and bark and chase things including other dogs. These people are the best! Another point, the gates don't close properly and some gates are missing safety latches. All it would take is for a dog to nose it and it's open. They should really fix this. I'd hate to see an accident since the parking lot is near the gates and Keller Springs is right there too with cars zipping by. Parking can be a nightmare. There's probably somewhere around 25 spots for the entire dog park and it becomes hellish during peak hours, not only in the parking lot, but also on the little dog side which isn't too big to begin with. If there are more than 10 small dogs, it just becomes a sea of fur babies and quite overwhelming. I don't think the big dog side has this problem since it's about 2-3x larger, though with a butt ton more trees. Overall, I'd like to love this dog park. It's so close to my house and a great place for my dog to play and socialize when the stars align and we're around great people and dogs, but there are too many issues that make me want to avoid this location and go to Northbark instead. read more

We are new to the Bug Dog World replacing out Yorkie with a Doberman. This is becoming our favorite dog park. It's large enough to have different play groups. A couple of groves and open spaces along with stone benches for the humans. It's the humans that can be a problem IF they bring their dog that that know can be aggressive. This is not a place for dog therapy. We haven't had that problem here as the patrons are attentive. Allegedly there is. Page group of "regulars" from 3:30 -5:30 (winter time). We may go then to check out that pack. read more

This is a great dog park! So pretty and clean, easy parking and they even have a separate area with picnic tables and BBQ pit. Very clean and pretty. There is a park for small dogs ( under 30 pounds) and a separate park for large dogs (over 30 lbs). Owners are nice and dogs play together well. I would recommend this to any dog owner who wants there pup to get out and run around for awhile. read more

This used to be a favorite spot to visit whenever driving thru with my Sophie. Peoples attitude has changed over the past few years and now the could not care about anything but themselves. If someone kept trying to get at your privates, or just you in general, i don't think anyone in their right mind would mind if you got a bit physical with the person doing that to you? Right? So why do people think my dog is doing anything wrong when it us yours that wont leave her alone? Didn't even make it past the 2nd gate. Decent little dog park for what it is. Park is divided into two different sides, big dogs and small dogs. The big dog side is bigger with more room for them to run and also has some small groups of trees. I typically stick to the outside of the actual gated in area and walk my dog out there, people let their dogs run wild and I don't want to end up having to pull my dog out of a fight. Parking can get a bit hectic on the weekends and it's not the cleanest place in the world but it's fine to stop in here for 15-20 minutes to let your four legged friend release some energy. There's a cool little spot at the back of the park where you can look out over a small river too. read more

The last time I went to a new dog park across the tollway in Addison I was attacked by a pack of dogs and all I wanted to do was say hello. I noticed though that this time the "small dog" park was separated from the "big dog" park by a parking lot so I didn't have to worry about big bullies coming to tell me who was boss as they were far enough away. I really liked it that most of the dogs in my area were my size. The water fountain was also just my size as long as my mom saw me and came over to turn it on so I could get a drink. There were so many new friends to meet and play with! I loved giving kisses to the nice lady who kept trying to talk on her cell phone. Doesn't she know that you are supposed to be paying attention to us, all the dogs and not your phone? I met another nice lady who had a fun device that she brought that allowed her to throw some of the scattered tennis balls. I think she was trying to throw the ball to her dog but he just wasn't fast enough so I helped. She didn't mind. Most of my new fellow fuzzy friends were quiet so I made sure to bark a few times to let them know it was safe to play and soon I was running back and forth, back and forth across the large area of thick grass that just suits my running needs. It wasn't long after this that a group of us started chasing each other. Everything was going fine until I got side-swiped by an excited terrier and it was at that point that I wanted to go home. But I would love to come back and make more friends soon. read more

Well kept dog park. 5 stars for the actual park. The regulars seem to have a mafia type of thing going and if your dog is chasing their more passive smaller(almost under 30 pound) dogs they get upset. Its a dog park so you have to expect a variety of breeds and larger dogs tend to have a herd mentality and engage in herd play (chasing and back of the neck nipping). Just call your dog off if things get heated. Example- The regulars have had some massive fights here to the point where one person was pulling his dog out of the fight by the back legs while it was still going after the other dog and not stopping- basically not trained, but that's OK he was a mafia member (blonde combed back hair ALWAYS there). My dog chased down one of his friend's smaller dog (which was also in the huge mix of the previous fight and limped off - this I know because it wears a bandana around its neck) - I would also guess under weight - I get hell for it by this clown - my dog does not bite never has, but did along with another dog end up rolling this little guy over while playing. I asked if everything was OK and was ignored. If you have a larger active dog that enjoys chasing other dogs- Shepherd, Akita, Retrievers or the like this is probably not the place for you as the Wagging Trail Mafioso will shun you. If your dog will just play catch with you and wander around this is a great place. Good water options and usually poop is cleaned. read more

This doggie park has a really long trail that you can take your dog to exhaust them. There's a large and small dog area. I came on a Friday and there weren't any extra doggie poop bags, so I was a little stuck. The small dog area was a little smaller than I thought. I have a corgi, so I wanted him to run around a little more. The large dog area looked more pleasing and had more stuff for dogs to play around. The trail is quite some distance, so I would recommend if you have a dog that's hard to tire out! read more

I just love a good dog park. Isaac and I were driving 30min. just to go to Jack Carter Dog Park. Now, thanks to you Yelpers, we are going just a few miles down the road. I don't have much to contribute that others haven't already mentioned. I went twice last weekend and again this evening (a weeknight). Although there isn't a lot of parking, I have found a spot every time. We talked to a groundskeeper who mentioned they were having problems keeping the grass in good condition. They are in talks about splitting the park and only having half open at a time, to let the grass grow back. That would not be cool. There has got to be a secret to having really great grass, despite the doggy diddle. He also mentioned it's been quite a task to clean up all of the leftover doggy toys and tennis balls. Take your things with you people! Definitely give this park a try if you're in the area. Maybe we will see you there! read more

Hooray for a well maintained Dog Park! A well maintained dog park owned and operated by the City of Dallas, no less. I had high hopes after reading the excellency in reviews regarding this public dog park, and was so excited when the opportunity presented itself for me and the doggies to make a trip. Indeed, the park is not as large as other expansive dog parks; however I think the smaller size of the park contributes to how well manicured they keep the grounds. Not only was the grass lush, vibrant green and the perfect length - the wrought iron fence that surrounding the lawn is adorably designed with dogs in all shapes and sizes. Definitely you don't see at other Municipally run parks. Granted the park doesn't neighbor a reflective and calming lake, it is situated among nice walking and biking trails that I believe lead to more complex hiking trails throughout North Dallas. The people are what might have impressed the most with this park. Although, I am aware that isn't necessarily something anyone can control and a free establishment shouldn't be judged based on the frequent visitors, however every human was heavily engaged with their dog and seemed to be respectful of every two legged and four legged creatures in the park. As I mingled with some of the happy dog lovers, I realized most of the people already knew each other and had grown to be friends because of their shared interest of the beautiful dog park. They can catch up and start their day with coffee and a chat, while their canines roam, groan, roll-over, and play fetch. Essentially, play dates for your dogs. read more

This place is great for dogs, dog owners, and dog lovers. They have the park divided up into 2 sections: 1 for big dogs and 1 for small dogs. They are fenced in, provide poop bags, and water fountains. The grass is well kept and the owners seem to all pick up after their muts. My wife has taken our Corgi here a handful of times and she always says it's nice and clean. Saturday/Sunday mornings can get pretty packed but that just makes it more fun to watch the dogs play with each other. Parking is limited but I notcied people were able to park on the large street outside. Thank you city of Dallas and donors for this amazing spot for the dogs. read more

Conveniently located right off the Tollway, Wagging Tail provides spacious recreational areas for you and your dogs to frolic. There are two areas separated by the size of your dog (under 30 is considered small and over 30 is considered large), though unless your dog is trampling others or being trampled I doubt anyone is super picky. My fluffy-butt friend weighs in right around 25 lbs, so we spent most of our time in the small area. Overall it was a little less spacious than Northbark (located a little further north up the tollway) and had less shade and seating making it slightly less bearable on a sunny day, but it was still a lot of great fun. There's a fountain to keep your pet well hydrated and a bag station to clean up after your buddy. Overall, I think it's slightly outclassed by Northbark, but is a little closer to home for me, making a return trip very likely in the near future. read more

Love this place...I've taken my 4 month old puppy a few times, and we've had a blast. It seems there's a regular weekday morning crowd, and they were all extremely polite, knowledgable, warm, and welcoming dog people. We were there 2 hours...and didn't even realize it...it's like a little separate peaceful place apart from the rest of the hectic world. We've also been on weekend mornings...it's a bit more busy but still really nice. So far, this dog park wins hands down versus all the other ones I've visited so far in North Dallas. read more

Woohoo! This dog park is open full time now and it is beautiful! The grass is really lush and green (we will see how long that lasts), and there is seating and lots of parking, and tons of happy dogs running around. They have water fountains too, fresh water abounds. They are closed on Monday's to maintain the grounds, but otherwise the gates are open and my dogs are happy. Exciting stuff. read more
