I'm not gonna lie the first time I brought my child, er dog here she got attacked. There was no blood drawn but it was pretty traumatizing for both Dolly and me. It seems that on Friday evenings there is a group of people who do happy hour at a local establishment then come to the Addison Dog Park with their dogs. I'm sure the doggies are very sweet as individuals, but as a pack coming every Friday evening they sort of think they own the place, ie: pack mentality and new dogs are not welcome. One of the guys who seems to be in charge of the group of people who coincidentally has the alpha dog of the pack tried to re-assure me that after a few more trips my dog would be comfortable to join the pack. There didn't seem to be much improvement the rest of the night though so I will just avoid this place on Friday evenings and perhaps you should do the same. Having said that Friday nights aside Addison has a nice dog park. It is tricky to find as it is located just south of Belt Line down Midway, sandwiched between an apartment complex and a group of office buildings that look more like buildings you would find on a college campus. The easiest way to access the dog park is to turn into the parking lot of a restaurant/small strip shopping place right before you get to Proton road and the hotel. It is definitely tucked away!! The dog park really has no tree coverage but has beautiful, lush grass. It is nice to find a dog park with lush grass. There is a section for big dogs and one for small dogs and both sections are good sized. They have plenty of doggie bag dispensers and a couple of benches and trash cans. It seems to be frequented with lots of various dogs but isn't too crowded. There is also a water fountain at the level of the dogs so they can get a drink. I think that the Keller Springs dog park is more popular than this place but Addison's dog park is nice and worth visiting. Just beware of Friday evenings. read more

My dog was attacked two months ago and I was bitten and surrounded by very aggressive dogs as of last night 6/11/18. There are a few aggressive dogs that are regulars at this park. None of the owners really control their dogs or correct their bad behavior. For me to be bitten and no one apologized is unacceptable. LaLa and I are the ones who left. That's not right. There needs to be some sort of recourse for that aggressive dogs at this park. We will not be returning and I am very greatful i was not seriosuly injured. read more

They did. Good job with what they had to work with. This is a small open dog park under the power lines. Currently (Dec 2020) it is 1/3 smaller due to construction. It's simply a large rectangle with 1 for obstacle. As usual, good friendly dog people. It all depends upon how spunky the dogs are when you arrive. This is a very large dog park. There's water and bags. They have a section for small or large dogs. It gets pretty muddy when it rains. Today was our 1st visit and there were only 2 other dogs (Sunday morning). We'd hoped for more as Harvey loves to play with all kinds of dogs. Definitely check it out. This is a simple, no frills Dog Park. It is tucked away, but I appreciate that the city made space for it. Plus, it serves it's purpose as a place for dogs to run and play. There are 2 areas for large and small dogs, and for the most part, the people are friendly. There is a water fountain, and usually some tennis ball laying around if your dog needs something to play with. Since it is getting hot, I do wish that there were shaded areas. I will probably just have to start going a little later in the day. read more

Absolutely love this dog park! Not the biggest dog park and it can be very tricky to find. It can get pretty crowded on nice days but I love that you really get to know people here. This is the first dog park I ever attended with my dog and I have stuck with it the most. I've seen a few little "fights" if that's what you want to call them. Usually a little scuffle here and there. Usually over balls or some dogs playing a little too rough. I have never seen an irresponsible owner or any situation handled in bad taste. I realize that balls and toys seem like a great idea. However some dogs, including my own can get possessive over them. I have had to back out a few times with mine because of that. My biggest complaint is lighting. Especially during the colder, darker months. There is absolutely no light on the park. I've heard multiple times that the city is working on that. It took me a while to locate this park; it's sort of hidden in the back of an Addison neighborhood just off Beltline Road. It's nestled in between some apartment complexes, and it's not very large, but if you don't feel like driving out to one of the big parks (Denton, White Rock), it'll do just fine. The grass is well-kept, and the sitting areas are nice and clean. It's obvious this place is taken care of. read more

This park is hidden really well. The easiest way to find it is to turn in when you see the sign for Dovie's. Drive all the way down the parking lot, make a left before the tennis courts, and it'll be straight ahead. There are a few reserved dog park parking spots by the fence. The other spaces are numbered and I'm sure they're for the employees of the building that the park is next to. We come here on days that the dogs are acting a little too rowdy for Northbark or the park at Keller Springs. It's a lot smaller, and mostly owners with small pups will come here. There is a little drinking fountain in the middle of the park, and there are always extra tennis balls to play with. There is also never a shortage of doggy poop bags, which means that the park is maintained on a regular basis. While it's not my favorite park in the area, it'll do in a pinch. read more

Its hidden behind the Marriott. You'd basically have to turn into the hotel parking lot to get it. Needless to say, I won't be coming back. Nothing negative, but it's empty most of the time and since I am trying to socialize my pup, she needs to be around other dogs to make that happen. read more

Lots of dogs! Tricky to find. Barren. No agility or water features. But convenient. Minimum pit bulls. Nice people. Very nice people to chat with. FREE WIFI TOO! Variety of dogs too! Lots of water stains for the dogs! read more

My dog and I love this dog park! It's smaller than other dog parks but it does the job tiring all the dogs out. The same people come every day. Responsible dog owners with friendly dogs. I've never seen a fight break out here. Owners actually pay attention to their dogs here. It's also the only dog park in the North Dallas area with grass!!! It's a pretty basic park, but it seems very well kept and when I went on a Saturday afternoon it wasn't very busy. I have a shy dog so I appreciated the low key atmosphere. I was glad I found it- the other nearby dog park closes when there has been bad weather so I'll use this as a backup, if not my first choice from time to time. Great dog park for residents of Addison/Farmers Branch. The crowd is very friendly and warm. There could be a few alpha dogs in the park. It may look like our dogs are getting attacked, but after a few visits things are perfectly normal and our dogs learn to be part of the pack. Plenty of tennis balls just laying around if you want to play fetch with your dogs. Will continue to visit this park everyday! read more

Excellent and OPEN -unlike Wagging Tail which seems to be closed often for maintenance. Liked the separate areas for small vs big dogs and always available water even in the muddle of winter. Very clean and attached to a long enough trail that goes from Marsh to Midway for those who don't wnt a hike and/or have a small pooch. Great use of power line right of ways with nice kiddie playground, shrubs, flowers, trees and benches. Dinged 1/2 star each for lack of trees inside fenced area and almost impossible to find location - best directions were review on here mentioning Dovie's. Its small and there are no trees. There are two other dog parks close by that are way better. I personally like Wagging Tail the best. Northbark is also a terrific park. read more
