There are three section-small dog, large dog & water. Be aware though-the small dog area gets a little swampy too when it rains a lot. All three sections are quite large and grassy (not muddy). There are plenty of poop bag stations, trash cans, water fountains and shady areas. The other pets and pet parents have always been wonderful and friendly. We have been to quite a few dog parks in the DFW area since moving here, and this is my favorite by far (and the dogs love it too). Note: To get to the dog park area, turn where the Carrollton Animal Shelter is-the dog park section is on the right just past the shelter.

Apparently people have flocked from there to come to McInnish Park and I'm sad to say, I'm one of those people. McInnish Park doesn't come up right away in searches when you're looking for dog parks so that's why it's a hidden gem. They have a good amount of parking and the standard separate sections for big and small dogs. But wait for.....there's a THIRD section.....ohhhh....ahhhhh.....ohhhhh! The third section is welcome to all pups and features a pond/lake/watering hole for your dogs to swim and play in! I have a six month old pup and while he's been in the water before, really had no idea that he would jump right in. Wrong I was. He could not get enough of the water and sadly I had to pay for it later while attempting to clean him off. The space is nice and heavily shaded so perfect for day time. You have your standard crazy dog people who like to camp out in the small dog section with camping chairs, coolers and cliques so be aware of that. Personally, I would rather socialize with the four legged friends.

The water fountains are clean and functioning well, the waste bags are thick and high quality and there is a TON of shade and seating which is important for those summer days. The pond for the dogs to swim in great for the summer, though if you have small dogs I recommend giving them life vests to wear as I think the water is deeper than it looks at some parts. Note that the pond is not separated between large dogs and small dogs. There is also a water fountain with a hose attachment that you can use to hose down your dogs after they go swim.

I discovered this park after joining Plano Pacers last night and seeing that this is our monthly location for 5k races. I walked over to check out the course prior to Saturdays race. I loved everything about it! It's truly beautiful in every sense of the word. What I can say, is on a very hot TX day the park itself (not Legacy trail) didn't seem to have a ton of tree coverage. You'll definitely want a wide brim hat and some sunscreen. The paths, wild flowers, lake, creek, trees, birds, bunnies and so on were all very lovely. I've been running a ton of routes since relocating to the neighborhood and I'm always thankful to find new paths to incorporate in, seeing as though I'm a distance runner and have been trying to put together some ideas for various different mileage options from my doorstep. I was very accustomed to an out and back in my previous city that I could easily get over 20 miles on and have been looking to somehow recreate a similar very straight forward route like that. I will most definitely be looping Windhaven Meadows Park and Legacy Trail into my runs. Highly recommend if you're looking for a gorgeous peaceful place to walk and relax. I can't wait to bring friends and family here!

The people and dogs there are all very friendly and I have never come across any issues. There's also plenty of seating for the pet parents and most of the dog park is shaded which is perfect for those warmer days. Parking is never an issue either and we love how close it is to us. I also love all of the different food options at the shacks. There is a wide variety and something for everyone. The empanada spot is my personal favorite. Definitely recommend the shacks for all dog lovers

We always end up at the brewery here where they have a pretty good selection of crafts. The place is also family friendly and has a little area for kids to run around too. Andy Brown is a beautiful space, from the pond to the open fields, the sidewalk/bike path, multiple large pavilions, and fun playground. There are large, mature trees surrounding the park. We parked in the wrong lot and had to walk alongside the gym in order to get to the playground and I couldn't believe how beautiful the pathways were with all the trees and the small creek running alongside. Not what I expected from a city park! The playground itself ("Kid Country") is almost fully enclosed and is a sprawling assortment of things to climb up, swing on, and slide down. There is a play area in the toddler section with storefronts to spark pretend play. The ground is bark. There are large trees in the center of the play area that provide shade and make the play structure look more natural than your typical playground. Almost like a tree house. There are benches scattered throughout the play area and a large covered pavilion with multiple picnic tables underneath. The city of Coppell provides free WiFi there and there were multiple moms with laptops out, working, while their kids played. The only big negative is the distance from the playground to the bathroom. I understand that they probably built the bathrooms more toward the center of the park, but the wise choice would have been to also put an additional small restroom right next to the playground. It's too far of a walk for me to feel comfortable sending my younger kids over there alone and it's kind of a bummer to have to wrangle together the entire group every time one kid has to pee. Otherwise, a fabulous park. LOVE IT. Hats off to you, Coppell!

There are balls and small toys for the dogs to play with while they are there. It's kept very clean by the city which is great! Everyone with dogs eventually gets to know each other because some people go there daily. I have a small dog and he loved visiting this park so I can't wait to take him back!
