Having Superbowl party plans, we needed to let the girls run off some steam before they spent a good part of the night in their "room" (crate). We found Bedford Bark Park and decided to check it out since it was nearby. Like most other dog parks they have two separate play areas; one for large dogs and one for small dogs. I'm a lover of all breeds, shapes, and sizes, but it does irritate me when people let their small dogs into the large dog area. Simply because they are setup that way for a reason. Some of the larger dogs may play too rough and not be able to handle small dogs which make owners nervous and defensive. This creates problems and takes time away from the pups being able to have fun. I also noticed that a LOT of people didn't pick up after their dogs in this park which is a HUGE pet peeve of mine. Especially when they keep well stocked cleaning stations throughout making it easy to do so. All that aside, the fenced area is quite large. They have a couple stone obstacles dogs can crawl inside or on top of, and two picnic tables for people to sit and watch (one is covered under a tent for shade). We met a few friendly people and enjoyed chatting while our girls ran around in circles. We accomplished our goal because they were out cold for the rest of the evening from pure exhaustion. It's great to have this as an option close to home, plus there is no entrance fee which is nice. If you prefer to walk your dogs, they have a trail right across the street that's perfect with plenty of cleaning stations and trash cans along the way.

Wonderful area. My dog had so much room to run and the other dogs in the large dog area were all having so much fun. Nice place to sit in the shade provide, fountain for both people and dogs. Only thing that marred the experience was a family came in with a toddler who came running towards the dogs and they, in their enthusiasm, knocked her down (she was ok but parents should think before putting a toddler in that situation).

View of the park is beautiful full of lush grass for the babies to enjoy. I highly recommend.

This is a beautiful dog park, equipped with bench to sit in the sun, a picnic bench in the shade, two tunnels to practice agility course, plus my favorite a fire hydrant, even a lamp post, freshly planted trees for future shaded areas. How exciting for the babies to enjoy.

Awesome They have a large area for the large Dogs ! Even added some shade for us Humans ! They have built some Dog toys for the pets . Bedford residents should enjoy this place . Please keep it cleaned don't become a Euless (nasty dog park) .

This dog park is a 10 minute walk from my house. I have three dogs a Pit Bull, a Boxer, and a tiny 4.5 lb Chihuahua. I do not feel comfortable taking the Chi into the big dog side so anytime I see the small dog side empty I take them in to enjoy an off leash stretch their legs since our fenced yard is mostly a pool with just a bit of grass. They love it and I always keep an eye on the gate to see if any small dog owners are approaching so I can leash mine and exit. So far 2 people have said they understand why I would use the the small dog side but I still leave when small dogs want to use it.

Love this park. It's never crowded and the owners pick up after their fur babies

There is plenty of parking, and there are sidewalks all the way around the lake for a nice stroll. Dogs are allowed, but please pick up after them - people do a good job of keeping the park clean. There are wrought iron benches set all around the lake if you need to take a rest or just want to enjoy the peaceful tranquility. The lake is tucked back behind a residential area, so there is no thru traffic. I recommend this gem as a lovely place to walk for fitness, meditate, stop and have a picnic, or just sit and read in the quiet.

From all appearances the park is really cleaned, we also noticed a young man propose to his fiance and of course she said yes. LOL There were also a few young people playing Frisbee golf and they really looked like they were having some fun. :) We also met a nice lady who was walking her dogs who lived at some of the nearby apartments and she said that she had been living there for a few years and we all notice a man fishing other people jogging and just having a great time and truth be told the weather was also nice for a stroll. We'll visit this place yet again. Can't wait to see the upgrades to the park when its all said and done. What they didn't do was shade the bench areas. There's no place to sit in the shade if you can't slide on the slides. Tons of big gorgeous trees and plenty plush, green lawns for frolicking, a little babbling stream with a walking trail bridge that goes over it. Like a storybook, for real. Rickel Park has 1.5 miles of walking and jogging trails, a picnic area with tables, a couple pavilions, and a great playground that's relatively shaded. There's nothing particularly novel or modern going on here, but this park actually transports you out of suburbia for a second and into the woods. Especially if it's not too crowded. With the right weather it's honestly so peaceful and enjoyable and feels like you're on a little trip. Bring a picnic and play and hike and enjoy.
