Walking trail
Russell R.

You know... Pecan Park is not a bad little park. With walking trails (half shaded) around the perimeter of the park, a playground area for the kids, a pavilion, and some picnic tables (some with grills) it certainly has a bit of everything to offer. There was a little graffiti on the playground equipment, but some had been taken off (somewhat). The only bad points about this park has to be the parking (you will be parking on the street - but there is a lot of street to park on). And since this park is practically across the street from an elementary school, I would think that going there when school lets out would be a bad idea. But overall, a very nice little secluded park.

It's hard to give anything less than 5 stars to a FREE, CLEAN, indoor playground for kids…read more We do not attend this church (although, we have once, if only to experience the beautiful a cappella performance), which makes us all the more thankful that they open their doors to the public multiple times a week. There is plenty of seating for parents and clean restrooms nearby. There is a smaller, enclosed area for babies directly adjacent to the large indoor jungle gym. The playscape is located in the center of the church building. You can park at any entrance of the church in order to access the playscape. Just walk through the doors and toward the center. On a HOT Wednesday at 5pm, we were the only people there. There were a couple of people milling about the church, but not many, and if weren't for the hours being posted on the website I would have thought we made a mistake and showed up at closing. I seem to remember them having a cafe pre-COVID, but it was now closed (temporarily or permanently I'm not sure). I packed bagged dinners for my kids to eat in the car on the way there. I wrapped up a sandwich, chips, and a drink for my husband and I and we enjoyed a mini dinner date while the kids played. Fun for all! I can't believe my original post was 9 years ago. Of course, I still stand by what I said before…read morethat this park is amazing and dog-friendly. I will just give you the CliffNotes version in that the park is very clean - perfect for running/jogging, walking, and sitting around to enjoy the outdoors. Here's the new impression about how kid friendly it is. First off, I love their splash pad. The best part of it is it's free! We tend to go on cooler/cloudy days when the summer sun is not beating down on us. They have benches and tables for families to sit around the splash pad. You can't bring your pets or food to the area. After a lot of running and laughing, my son's eyes do get a little red from the chlorine, so wear glasses or goggles if you want to avoid this. Right next to the splash pad is the playground. I'm so glad that it is covered, so we can go when it's sunny outside, but not too hot. The playground is a good place for the kiddo to either warm up or cool down before the splash pad. I would say the splash pad is such a fun distraction that my son spends the majority of his time at the splash pad and the playground is just a second thought. It's never super crowded even on the weekends. Perfect amount of kids playing around. There's a nice private parking lot right next to the splash pad. I'll be back with the family again and again.
