The whole place is really shaded with tons and tons of trees, so it still felt pretty comfortable even with the heat, and my dogs had a great time running around, which was the main thing for me. They have separate areas for small and large dogs, which I really liked. The large dog area is covered in mulch, not really my favorite surface, but it still looked well kept whereas the small dogs areas was all grass. There's also a walking trail that goes around the park, which is a nice bonus if you want to walk a bit before or after letting your dog play.

The owners also all seem to get along, its nice to be able to see friendly faces you recognize and are also happy to see you and your pup. The grass is always manicured and the trash is taken out. We have encountered once that the poop bags ran out, but that was a one off instance. Overall, this is the best park in the area and we drive over from Valley Ranch. We have tried all the others in the area and find this is worth the extra couple minutes drive.

I got up earl one saturday morning to ride dirtbikes at this establishment. Friends suited up and we got after it. Quickly i found out that while the paths are laid out clearly the direction of travel is not. Even following a friend i got lost only to find myself back at the same place. A simple arrow and color system would greatly help. While i did see paper signs nothing made sense. And by far the biggest problem i had was the metal railing they had everywhere. One wrong move and you will seriously be hurt!!! Take those things out geez But not only did they offer dirt trails, but also bike, fishing boat rams, hiking and just a general place to get your nature on! After you look at the big picture and price of admission it really is pretty darn awesome. The credit card machine frequently doesn't work, then it would only accept exact change of a five dollar bill, which is never received well by the machine. The amount of times that my family has driven here to try and go to the park only to have to return home because we could not gain entrance. Currently there are FIVE CARS all in line at the entrance trying to get it! The drivers are all out of their vehicles and very frustrated. Also, while there are a porta potties in many places, the only proper bathroom is at the entrance. The women's room door is broken, so you really just go to the restroom with the door wide open! All that to say, this is an amazing park that needs much better maintenance.

Tried to tell the man that he needed to leash his dog or go around to the big side to get in. This man then began to get very verbal with me and frankly was a little uncomfortable with his aggression. The sign is not clear for some people and this is something that could be fixed. A sign for the big dog entrance and the gate between locked. Most people are courteous but this man got mad for me being there and not wanting his big dog coming at me.

It is very rarely crowded and the families that frequent here are very nice. However, the maintenance on the park is very poor. The gates have been broken for the 6 months that we have lived in lakeside. They are kept closed with rocks, which is far from secure. There is a drain in the small dog park which has a man whole cover that we found to be wide open at our last visit. There are also large holes scattered across the park that are very dangerous for dogs when they are playing. The fence closest to the creek has open spots in it that are big enough for small dogs to fit under. When it rains and for many days after the park is a swamp and practically not able to be used. If we were not residents of lakeside, we would not bring our pup here.
