The City of Lewisville Texas built a beautiful park, across the street from the stately city hall, and named it Wayne Ferguson Plaza. It was named after Wayne Ferguson, a former mayor with a true git-r-done attitude. We love the events that are held at the plaza, particularly the Sounds of Lewisville Concert Series. They bring in bands that are based locally and from farther cities. Always enjoyable and appreciated. We couldn't be happier that the concert series has been brought back this year. Having outdoor events lifts our spirits as we move back to life before the pandemic. read more

Such a great little park. They have live music on Tuesdays again-bring your chairs/blankets and enjoy. Great sound system and lots of area to socially distance. They had 3 food trucks a bar selling beer & wine. Porta potties behind stage is appreciated. read more

We were so pleased to happen upon this beautiful plaza which includes a flower garden, winding walkways/boardwalks, programmed water fountain, lots of trees - great, open, circular green space, an infinity-style waterfall, stage, and picturesque views of City Hall. It was a beautiful day to be outdoors and I was so pleased to visit such an artfully-designed outdoor space. My partner and I will now be on the lookout for any concerts or events that might be hosted there. Surrounded by shops and restaurants and less than a five minute walk from Witherspoon Distillery, it's certainly visit-worthy for a short stroll, picnic, or a ponder:) I am happy to know of this great, central green space in historic Old Town Lewisville. read more

This is a beautiful little urban park in Old Town Lewisville. When I say park, don't picture rolling hills or playgrounds. It's a nice space in the middle of Old Town with a few trees, some green space, a couple of paved paths, some water features, and a stage. It's not big - only 1.5 acres - but it's really well done and a nice place to stroll after dining in Old Town. My wife and I discovered it a while back after eating nearby. It's literally across the street from City Hall and the MCL Grand Theater, in the same block as The Perc Coffeehouse, some bridal shops, and other businesses. It was in early October - nice strolling weather - and this nicely-lit little area beckoned us over. The water features were a really nice touch and it was immediately obvious that this park would be great as a local outdoor music venue. Very relaxing. The place was dead - no one else was there - but there was some activity on Main St nearby. Parts of the park looked like they were still getting some finishing touches. It all felt brand new (and it is). I looked into it and the park / plaza is available to rent for weddings, concerts, reunions, etc. Compared to other venues I've scoped out for events, it's very reasonably priced. That being said, there's no cover, so a daytime event would be very open to the elements (or perhaps require rentals to add shade and protect against rain). It's also cool that you can only rent sections of the park if you don't want it all. All that being said, the thing that caught my eye was use of the stage requires general liability coverage (insurance) and if alcohol is served then additional coverage is required. So! Cost goes up if you want the stage and/or alcohol. More details on their website... All in all, very nice and welcome addition to Old Town. Last note, they have free concerts on Tuesday evenings in June and July ("Sounds of Lewisville") and the plaza hosts the city's Western Festival in September, which apparently draws a crowd of 20,000 (!), among other events. read more
