We made reservations a while back, knowing it was Mother's Day. We didn't know we had to have the buffet. Actually didn't even know there was a buffet. The server didn't let us order from the menu instead of having to go to the buffet. The food was luke warm at best and not very good. The cost was exorbitant ($60/ea). read more

My daughters took me to Mother's Day brunch today at Hotel Sutter in Sutter Creek. It was such a beautiful morning! We stopped first to take pictures at the Photo Booth they had set up in the lobby, then were sat on the upstairs balcony with a view of Main Street. The service was impeccable and the food was delicious! Literally an amazing spread of breakfast, lunch and desert choices...so impressed! I would definitely recommend! read more

Went for a birthday dinner a week or so ago. We had a reservation for the deck on the second floor overlooking the street and shopping area. They had misters going and that really cooled things down. Started off with the almond crusted prawns and they were delicious! For my entree I got the tri-tip and I'd give it a 8/10. My girlfriend got the fish n chips and she said she loved them. My mother got the Salmon burger and she liked it as well. Lots of options for food and drinks ranging from medium to high price. If you find yourself in this area I suggest stopping by or making a reservation to check it out. It's a super old building with a lot of history. Thanks for the good food and service ! read more

Great spot! Good service good food good ambiance! Cute hotel either nice outside seating.

On vacation and we walked down the historic "Main Street" and saw the hotel. I ordered the St. Louis Rib dinner and my wife ordered the Chicken Marsala. The ribs were delicious and had a really good smokey flavor to them. The Chicken was also delicious! The staff was over friendly and very helpful, especially knowing the next day the restaurant was laying them off due to the "Covid Lock Down" I highly recommend this restaurant and really can't understand the 3 a half star review! read more

Day trip to Sutter Creek and we decided to bring our pup. It was a Saturday so everything was up and running in town. Mid afternoon we were hungry and noted two restaurants on the main drag that had outdoor seating - necessary as we had our dog with us. Hotel Sutter had some empty two tops so we sat down to eat. We discovered that if you eat inside, it's a full service restaurant. Outside, you pick up a menu at the front desk and then order at the bar. Both lunch menu or new brunch menu - We chose brunch which is available 10 am to 2. We split the Brisket Hash with potatoes and two eggs. Delicious and filling for two. No dessert this time as I had also recently finished a hot chocolate from the coffee shop next door. But they had some tempting items including lava cake. A favorite on a nice fall day. Great place to eat and people watch when you have a dog. read more

I loved this place! The ambiance was great! Service was slow to get our food out but it was worth it! I had the Whiskey Burger replaced with the non meat Impossible Burger and fries. The fries were the best I've ever had and so was the burger. I wasn't sure what it would be like because you never know in small towns. It was outstanding! I'm not going to complain about price. If you go out to eat this is what it is so. I thought the portions matched up with price! read more

Pleasantly surprised by our visit here. Both our plates were excellent. All the staff were super attentive and nice. We were especially impressed with our waiter Aaron, probably the best waiter we have had the pleasure of being served by at any restaurant. read more

The menu the food everything but the ambience was bad .... granted there are few places to eat in Sutter creek and we have been going there for years .... We heard about the hotel and some good sandwiches etc... the beer was warm.. the white wine was horrible and the food was not good at all I won't even degrad the food or the chef but damn ... just bad all around read more

Tonight's dinner was superb. Our party of 5 didn't partake in the traditional Thanksgiving dinner offered, but chose to order from the menu instead. We were all throughly pleased with our choices. My prime rib was the best I think I've ever had. The service was equally as good: Our Waiter was knowledgeable and accommodating besides being delightful and personable. Five Stars! read more

Went tonight, made a reservation for 2 at 5pm the day before. We walk in and the hostess can't find our reservation, but pretends like she does and seats us immediately. The restaurant only has a few tables taken at this time. There were 4 flies we could count buzzing our table. We were brought water and bread, but no bread plates. We are sat next to a four-top, who are having fun, extremely loud to the point we can't hear each other talk. It's ok, I will just ask to be moved, no sense in ruining their or our night. We are told they are full on reservations and can't move us. I tell them we are out for our anniversary and can't hear each other but fine. Don't tell them we have any issue. They pull one of the ladies away and tell her. She comes back to her table and starts whispering to her table and I can't help myself but interrupt to let her know I didn't want anything to be said, no sense in ruining their night, we just asked to be moved, and we were sorry for the disruption. They were very nice about it. But it's awkward. We both order the filet mignon. He orders his well and I order mine med. rare and ask to sub mashed potatoes for the roasted potatoes. We get our meals and they look delicious, nice plating, but my meal is only warm, and I got two types of potatoes instead of mashed with the veg. Cut into the steak and it's not cooked. Like blue, not even rare. I decide to not complain anymore and I will just eat the mashed potatoes and bring mine home to cook later. The brussel sprouts were uncooked. They were explained as sauteed with butter and bacon, and it was raw brussel sprouts topped with bacon pieces. The whole time we are there eating, not one other diner comes in, the multitude of tables we were told we couldn't sit at because they had so many reservations sat empty. The server was very apologetic and asked how he could make it right. The one star was for him. I got 3.30 off my 85.00 meal for it being too rare... Our anniversary dinner went down in flames. We were in and out in 45 minutes, it was a waste of a babysitter and my perfectly winged eyeliner. Will not go back. Ever. I am so disappointed our special night, a $100.00 night, after tip, was bad. I'm seriously depressed about this. Steer clear of it's an important night you don't want ruined. read more

Started out good. We were seated at a table by the front windows with a great view outside. Soon realized there were only two servers on duty. Service was very slow but did pickup as the place emptied. Refills on drinks were a bit of an issue. Ordered a burger and discovered that the chef and I have a difference of opinion on what medium is. While my fries were crispy, not everyone at the table could say that. Even though my burger was very well and a bit charred on the edge, it was juicy and very tasty. Had it not tasted good I would have had no issue sending it back but in spite of the overcooking, it was good. Blue Moon was cold and served with an orange but I understand the margarita was nothing to brag about. Our server was friendly and did try to take care of us but she just seemed to be spread a bit thin. About $55 for two burgers and two drinks (incl tip.) guess about right for a little tourist area. read more

Good luck trying to get any service from the young male bartender, who was more interested in staring at his phone and telling vulgar jokes to his coworkers than in serving customers. Wife and I wanted to lunch but left after one round of drinks, it's hard to enjoy a meal when you feel like an imposition to the staff. Sad, we have been coming here for years. read more

Tiffany was a great server. Very friendly and helpful. The Brussel sprouts were amazing.

We keep coming back! The food is delicious and the service from Tiffany is second to none! You won't be disappointed!

I started with cocktails at the Hotel Sutter bar (be sure to order in the bar and then seat yourself outside to get a nice view of the street and on goings or live music). I had the French pear martini. It is always a delightful treat and such a delicious way to end the work day. The French pear is my favorite Hotel Sutter cocktail; perfectly curated and a beautiful presentation. Yum! I then moved into the dining room for a pleasant dining experience. Danielle was a delightful server. I usually get the Brussel sprouts, they are delicious! They are crispy and flavorful with a bit of bacon and parm and a creamy aioli. For my main, I ordered the chicken saltimbocca. It was wonderful. The presentation on a cobalt blue ceramic plate was very pleasing. The chicken was cooked perfectly and the sauce was divine. I highly recommend this dish! Overall, another very nice experience at Hotel Sutter. read more

Came here last night with my husband and we had such a great experience! Showed up a little early for our reservation and there was no issue with being seated immediately. We sat upstairs on the balcony and it was a cold and rainy night but the heaters definitely warmed us up. Our waiter was Scott and he was amazing! Super friendly, gave great suggestions, and checked on us the perfect amount of times. I had the traditional Sutter Burger and my hubby had the Prime Rib Special. Both were cooked exactly how we asked and tasted amazing. Not to mention the to die for pretzel appetizer! So yummy!! Such a fun night, we'll be back soon!! Thanks Scott!! read more

Delicious food, cool vibe, great team, and a restaurant you have to visit if you're in town. Sutter Creek is growing with more restaurants, and Hotel Sutter is always looking to upgrade their hotel, menu, and brand. They've added a downstairs Copper lounge; you can eat inside or outside with a view downtown. Covid has made it difficult for all businesses, but they are a constant everyone knows and loves. You drive down Main Street and you see Hotel Sutter owns the block and creates an atmosphere of vibrant life. They listen to issues and take care of you. My favorite is the Buffalo chicken, but I enjoy their salads, giant pretzel, and more.,. My family has gluten allergies, so they have good food. We are always there. We love it. read more

Honestly I am really heartbroken over this. My husband and I drove over from Reno for his 50th birthday. We made reservations for Sutter Hotel for dinner. Everything was fine until our food was delivered. My burger which was supposed to be with a gluten free bun was served cold and with ugly brown wilted lettuce And no bun. No sauce. Literally just burger, cheese, wilted lettuce and onions. It was embarrassing let alone disgusting. We drove 3.5 hours for this??? Happy 50th birthday babe. I am so heartbroken for my sweet husband that just wanted to do something special!!! read more

Staying at a local Bed and Breakfast in Sutter Creek for our 15th wedding anniversary, so I thought I'd check around for a nice place to dine for the evening. Found this place, read some reviews so thought we'd give it a shot. I am so happy we did. We made reservations for 5:45. We got there at 5:40 and were swiftly seated early. Our server Carl was out of this world great. The kind of server you wish you had every time. Funny, personable, very clear on menu choices. He was attentive but not too attentive and he kept our drinks full the whole time (that is huge in my book). The food was freaking awesome. I had the homemade fettuccini with prawns and it was amazing! My wife had a burger and it was also very tasty. We will for sure be back with a group of friends to have some great food and hopefully Carl will be there to serve us. Thanks! read more

Great atmosphere, food & service! We attended a private event at the Copper Room and everything was Amazing!! Scott & Jana Harvey were the main attraction, but the Copper Room did not disappoint! Thanks for saving our meal Hotel Sutter! Met some girlfriends at Cavana's yesterday afternoon and were treated SO RUDELY by 2 different employees that we got up and left! We decided to head across the street and try out the Hotel and I'm so happy we did! The employees were beyond polite, friendly, and attentive! Our drinks were on point and the food was delicious. We ordered 3 appetizers and shared them. The charcuterie board, the nachos, and the brussel sprouts! All 3 were delish, but those brussel sprouts were AMAZING! read more

Sad to say it's become a bit unreliable, and has dropped several of our favorite dishes. Our latest experience with them, for Christmas Eve, may be the last straw. Two weeks ago they announced they were having a Christmas buffet and we wanted to take some visiting family there but, no reservations. Last night they said they had canceled the buffet as not enough people were coming and when I asked how they knew this with no reservations she had no response. We're done with them for now though the food is usually pretty good.....too inconsistent and a bit dishonest. read more

Food was 3+ stars. Service was inattentive from a polite, young server on a late Sunday evening. Possibly doing side work could've been the reason while he needed to check on us. We were overcharged on our meal compared to menu prices and the server had to adjust our check. No doubt, some attention is needed by the manager to correlate prices between the menu and the POS. Note to manager... There's nothing like watching staff put their hands and fingers inside dirty glassware and dirty tableware, and then reset the tables with the same dirty and compromised hands. It's unsanitary and a bad practice with many restaurants. This is one of the ways germs and viruses are transferred in a restaurant. Also, using trays to clear tables, saves time walking back-and-forth to the kitchen. read more

Stopped here for a local craft brew and snack. I really like the way it has been renovated, bar is a bit small but there were also 5-6 pub tables. We happened to have been there on the first day the attached restaurant closed between lunch and dinner service; the bartender was tasked with taking food orders, and delivering them to the tables, and the bar. She did very well in my opinion, and was cheerfully taking some patrons criticism for not being fast enough! We ordered the massively large hot pretzel, it was so good. A little chewy on the outside and very tender on the inside. It also came with hot beer cheese and spicy mustard, both were very good; washed it all down with the local Amador Brewery red ale! All in all, was a great experience. For you locals, give this place a try, and be patient while they perfect their new process. read more
