Both the Restaurant and the Copper Room are excellent dining experiences! The upstairs restaurant area is a more formal experience with a full dining menu (there is a bar upstairs as well), while the Copper Room is an authentic bar and still serves some food as well. Service is great all around - can't go wrong here! read more

Tiffany was a great server, great service and food, reasonable price great atmosphere

My husband and I tried the Hotel Sutter Restaurant last night for dinner. We didn't make reservations and ended up sitting at the bar for dinner. First of all, the atmosphere was great, the staff was friendly and I saw lots of smiles on patrons faces. We had such a good time chatting with Brandon! Not only is he a wonderful bartender but our dinner service by him was excellent. My husband had the lamb shank and I had the Mahi Mahi. We each had Cesar salads. The food was excellent! Brandon was very attentive making sure we had everything we needed . We asked that our dinnner not be rushed because we were having such a good time enjoying our wine and talking. A lot of the time restaurants have a hard time getting it right and our entree comes out while we are still working on the salad. I don't know how Brandon did it but the timing was perfect! All in all we had a wonderful evening. We will be back for sure! read more

Was just here celebrating my wife's birthday. Service is always excellent great low key but classy atmosphere. Ordered the ribeye special with asparagus was delicious. Highly recommend this spot. Great for date night spot for drinks too. read more

The Hotel Sutter staff is totally awesome. Very welcoming and Tiffany, April and Brandon are outstanding in their customer service and dedication to their jobs. Will be coming back soon. Food is great too. Cocktails extremely tasty....cozy atmosphere. Very welcoming read more

First time actually having a meal, usually it's snacks in the bar. I shouldn't have waited so long. Loved everything - started with the bread and herbed olive oil. The bread was fresh and warm. Husband had the filet which was a generous size and cooked perfectly. I opted for the prawns w/risotto which was delicious. The thing that really made our meal special was the service. Tiffany was fantastic, friendly, attentive and downright pleasant. I'd dine on the balcony again just to have her as our server. read more

the only item on the menu that has a rersonable price if the prime rib dip all other items are over priced...I have tried them all...

Only have had lunch but it was great. Had the wedge salad and giant pretzel with all the fixings. Yum. Service fast and friendly.

We were seated immediately by a very pleasant hostess. However, we then waited...and waited...and waited for a server to acknowledge us. Many walked by, and several even looked right at us. I could see servers at other tables, and they seemed quite friendly and professional. There were two parties seated AFTER us that had servers stop by, yet there we sat. Just when I was beginning to get a complex, thinking we had broken some unknown rule, a manager came and took our order. Whew! Sadly, everything didn't go perfectly after that. We never really had a server, just random managerial types occasionally checking in. I had to flag servers / bussers down if we needed anything. It was rather bizarre. Luckily, the food, for the most part, was TERRIFIC! The poke stack appetizer was better than poke we had in Hawaii! The lamb was flavorful and fall off the bone tender. Portions were quite large, which is rare these days. The accompanying vegetables were fresh, and well prepared. The mashed potatoes were really good, even though they were lukewarm. Sadly, my salmon was a bit dry, and had less than a teaspoon of the delicious chimchurri sauce smeared on top of it. I had to flag down a server to request more sauce - as nobody checked to see that our entrees were acceptable. (I would have ordered a second glass of wine, but, alas, there was no server to request it from.) Our plates were never cleared. I had to flag a manager to request the check. All in all, I would give this restaurant another try, since the food was really good. Since I could clearly see and hear other tables receiving EXCELLENT service, I feel that the poor service we experienced was an anomaly. read more

Quintessential Sutter Creek vibe. Speakeasy feel, great menu with vegan and gluten free options, beautiful presentation of meals, full bar and accordion front doors for open feel. I ordered the impossible burger and gluten free bun (I have health issues) and they separated all other items I didn't realize had gluten like the onion rings and BBQ sauce. I can't thank them enough for being conscientious of dietary issues. I'm grateful and highly recommend this place. They have adult slushes... so next time, for sure!! Our waitress Karen was exceptional. PS They also have hotel rooms... just say'n PSS You can drink and eat and stay the night. read more

Hotel Sutter Restaurant - Love the staff and vibe - New American Near Me - Sutter Creek, California

We've been here before the pandemic and it was excellent then. We went to Sutter Creek today for the vendor street fair and the town was packed. We stepped inside to see how the long the wait would be. The hostess told us it would be about an hour. We left our phone number and wandered around town. We came back just short of an hour and our prospects were still not looking too good. We eventually got seated upstairs on the balcony which was perfect! We had a bird's eye view if Main Street and all the goings on. My wife ordered the brisket sandwich and I ordered the Sutter burger. Both were very delicious and prepared nicely. The service was attentive and friendly. I'm glad we ended up waiting. Thanks to the hostess for seating us in a great spot and the waitress for the wonderful service! read more

The food was not good. The rib eye was 50% fat chunks, no seasoning. The braised short ribs were dry, we won't be eating here again.

We stayed in Sutter Creek for the weekend and ate here twice. Once for dinner and the second time for brunch on Sunday. All I can say is YUM! The food was amazing both times. I had filet mignon the first night - it was cooked to perfection and served with asparagus and a loaded bake potato. Makes my mouth water thinking about it. In the morning we had french toast. The best french toast I have ever had! The staff was so friendly and accommodating. If you go to Sutter Creek - make a point to eat at the Hotel Sutter, you won't be disappointed. P.S. You may need a reservation. read more

No complaints. Came on a Saturday afternoon around 3pm. The bar was pretty busy but the dining area was not. We were seated promptly, and our orders were also taken efficiently. I ordered the BLAT, which was very good. Everything about it was on point. My date had the shareable wings which he enjoyed. I also had the spiked lavender lemonade which was well made. The waitress was very attentive but not overly. Would definitely eat here again if I was in the area. read more

The food was okay. I order a shareable steak with tots, there was so many tots, and very little meat. The service was not the best. Not as attentive as I would have liked. I felt like I was a bother. Long periods of time between visits to the table. There was noise but not too bad. Not what I expected. Service is my biggest complaint. Lack of meat was my second. read more

I was in Hotel Sutter a couple of days ago and gave them a poor review on the southwest salad, I need to correct that. They were respectful and responsive to my comments, thank you Sutter!! I have reordered the salad and it is now amazing! It is truly a mixed green salad with great chips included, it is now my favorite salad ever! You have to try it, it's impressive and every one sitting next to me said WOW.. read more

Where to start? The food and service were top notch... The Poke stack and the Mahi tacos should not be missed, and the Pig, Fig and Goat is the best "charcuterie" we've had. April, our server, made the lunch that much better. A must stop in Amador County! read more

The food was delicious and our server, Olivia, was wonderful! We loved the loaded Cesar salad and the charcuterie board. We will definitely be back! read more

We were staying at the Hotel and went there for dinner Sunday night. Everything was delicious and our waiter was outstanding. We started with the calamari appetizer and the aioli was perfect. I had the short rib special with pomegranate cherry sauce and my husband had the lamb shanks. Finished the evening with football in the bar. Would definitely return. read more

My boyfriend and I went out for my birthday and decided to go to hotel Sutter restaurant. Our waiter was named Aaron , and he seemed nice, but for whatever reason, I don't think he could hear what I was saying, and he got a little frustrated and gave us a waitress. She came over and said, what's going on? We just explained to her (Danielle is her name) that nothing's going on we just want to order. So she took our order. She was super awesome and super friendly and the food was actually really delicious. We'll be back and we'll ask for Danielle . read more

First stop, last stop! Uniquely pleasant hostess greetings and good starter information! When we were informed Brunch was over and lunch would start serving at noon, of course we went to the bar to enjoy an adult COLD beverage; we have had about 2 weeksu of over 100*!! Right away bartender, Olivia, greeted and served us one of THE BEST Bloody Mary and Long Island iced tea. OLIVIA, can provide ALL you need to eat and drink from a shot of your favorite distilled spirits to the location of the swimming hole by trees as markers! 4 stars only because the flies & woman manager on staff. They could install fans that could help keep those guys moving. Vornado makes retro style fans that would be ideal. And commercial ones mounted in between the indoor /outdoor area. But a few standing fans might help too as I understand the cost of commercial. Food was really great. You have to expect to pay a little more on some things because of the location. Ambience for Labor Day was perfect w/live music and the place filled up with lots of people of various ages. Now, the manager woman on duty was talking down to Mitchell as he was answering my questions about this historic hotel. He, on the other hand was very sweet and informative and made us feel welcomed. A helpful hint for the manager...instead of putting your hands on your hips standing (doing nothing) on the stairs barking at your staff... why not jump In and take the drinks to the tables?! that's what managers do! Especially when you know you are short staffed. We will definitely be back and enjoy this sweet town and the cute shops. Definitely worth the drive! read more

I visited this place for food. All food photos looked great so sat in patio. The food were amazing and drinks so amazing (blackberry mojito) But I almost took a star out because,,, A swarm of flies all over my food. As soon food arrives, boom. Can't even eat food at all. It's outside I understand but it's really uncomfortable. If you go this place and having food, sit inside. Again, SIT INSIDE!!!!! No joke! read more

I have eaten here several times over the fast few years and have always found it to be exceptional. Recently had a Chicken Caprese sandwich with Garlic Tots and an ice tea. It was delicious. Everything was fresh and of good quality. The place was packed but our way was only 15 mins. It's a great location in beautiful downtown Sutter Creek. I highly recommend it. read more

Wow! The quality of the food has really gone down. Took my boys to dinner with week and everything was over salted and hard to eat. Decided to take them to breakfast this morning since breakfast has always been good, up until today. The only good things is the service staff is amazing. read more

Just stopped in for a quick drink and a NFL score update. The bar is cozy and the entire wall opens up to the street, which is a nice touch for cool fall breeze and for some ambient street noise. I only order a vodka soda, but the beer selection was solid and their vine list is over 20 styles deep! We didn't order any food, but I did watch a cheese board come out and it was massive. It should be for $27! There's a dining area upstairs for more of a romantic vibe, but the bar was perfect to sip a few and watch the game. I'll be back to dominate that cheese board. read more

A few months ago we were not impressed with this restaurant but we returned tonight and were thrilled with our experience. We sat on the balcony and received excellent service from Sierra. The drinks came out quick and were delicious. The coconut prawns were perfectly cooked. Our entrees were equally yummy. My hubby loved the scallops served over a bed of herbed creamy polenta with perfectly cooked green beans. My tender stuffed gnocchi was also delicious and so rich I couldn't finish it in one setting lol. We brought carrot cake home and I can't wait to try it. Ambiance on the balcony upstairs is cozy and lovely and we'll def be driving the 30 mins to go back! read more

Had a lovely meal with our baby dog on the patio overlooking the quaint old Gold Rush town of Sutter Creek. Wifey had a classic breakfast that was perfectly done in its simplicity (Bacon crisp/ Eggs over easy). My Nachos (correctly pronounced in Valley Girl as "Naawchos") were mouthwateringly good. The bar/lobby/hotel is spectacular, like stepping back in time but with today's amenities. read more

Having had a fabulous chicken pot pie at Hotel Sutter a couple of years ago, we decided to take a drive down today to have that for lunch. Making a long story short, we decided to share one as we remembered that it was large and very generous with a delicious flaky crust and loaded with chicken. What we got was a "Barbie" size pie with hard crust and very little chicken. It was nearly cold and a real chore to try to divide! The only redeeming quality about the lunch was the sweet potato fries! The lunch was way overpriced. We won't be trying this place again. Guess the ownership has changed-- hope they can improve! read more

The servers are very friendly. However......the bartender pours short. Ordered Tangeray Martini's which were half full. Usually most bartenders fill to the very top. You would have thought it was his bar so pour short! Later we ordered dinner in the dining room, which lacks any ambiance. Might as well been at Denny's. Ordered a Caesar salad. Worst we've ever had anywhere in the world. Never had a Caesar with bacon bits, tomatoes or hard boiled egg. And dressing from who knows where! We we're going to order entrees but the salad was so bad, we decided to stick to. Appetizers. My wife tried the Poke Tower. Terrible and some sauce presented was worse than axle grease. I had Meatballs. No flavor and the Marinara? Came from a jar. There's nothing wrong with things from the shelf. You can add spices and flavors to make it your own. Right? read more

Food and service was so great! We will definitely be back the ambiance was amazing we really weren't expecting much but we were so in love with it honestly we've never been anywhere like here. The live music was just the Cherry ontop for us ! The crowd that night was also such a vibe everyone was just enjoying themselves and the delicious food and drinks ! So glad we took the drive it's a little out of the way being that we drove from valley springs but the drive was beautiful and the food and drinks made it worth it! 20/10 recommend! read more
